Me with a K6: Well, so much for getting software for this thing... am I right?
I can relate!!
As somebody who has two K6's I would have preferred you allowed existing K6 owners to upgrade their firmware to add QMK compatibility.
There's a customized firmware called Sonix QMK which allow old keychron keyboard to have QMK/VIA compatibility, but you lose bluetooth functionality
@@crushfire2004 That seems to be an Issue with all wireless boards to be fair. QMK/VIA doesnt really play well with Wireless modes, however there is another open software called ZMK that exist to alleviate that for most boards, albeit I think right now its hit or miss if your board can support it. Still a viable option if you just want a nice wireless experience
thats why you shouldnt buy k6 in the first place
@@蛇王-y9b did you just assume that he buy his 2 K6 now? K6 were around in a few years, who knows keychron are releasing the pro version
If this had come with a dongle I would of bought it for sure.
K8 Pro is gonna be in stock by October in India. I really want the 65% K6 Pro but the release here seems far in the future.
Edit: It is already in stock on keychron (specific variants), I was talking about the third party sellers since they quote a much fairer price
Which one is in stock?
@@thisisayushpandey K8 Pro
any idea when k6 pro will come
I should have waited instead of getting the normal K6. This is basically exactly what I was trying to build in the first place for gaming and work. PBT keycaps, 1K polling rate (this is a big one for gaming), screw in stabs, and QMK/VIA. Tough
If it makes you feel any better QMK/VIA is a lie. Pretty pissed at keychron on this one.
@@derfoh3182 Can you please explain why? I'm on the verge of buying this keyboard.
@@derfoh3182 pretty sure you just have to download the config file on their website, at least that's how it worked with k8 pro
Hi I wonder if you can help me please I have just purchased the k6 pro keyboard and the fn2 won’t work I need too use the @ symbol when i press the fn2 and the number 2 it won’t display the @ symbol can you help please thanks
they should give this one a top housing as well instead of just the bottom case, what if the bottom mounting damaged ?
good keyboard but here in iran we should sell our home to buy one of this keychron keyboars !!!!
but can the 'Light button' be programmed for 'Delete' Key ?
Yes.
So what's the difference between this and V7 QMK besides 10 dollars and the fact that V7 is not wireless and cheeper?
In the mock ups, the left control key appears to be 3 pin hotswappable only. Will this be the case on the release models?
For the engineering sample on hand, its 5pin for the left control on lower left corner.
Any key sound test for the new keys?
Does QMK/VIA work now?
Any plan for k14 pro? I like its layout but it's probably not popular enough to warrant a pro version...
Hi, We do not have that at the moment. Thank you for your feedback and your kind suggestions! We will pass it to our design team and will take that into consideration.
I waiting K2 Pro
Hmm too bad you can't get the aluminum bezels as a barebones. Noticed that even tho k8 pro is out of Kickstarter you still can't get the alu barebones.
We will consider to add this version, stay tuned.
woah is this joe's keyboard? i think i saw him using this at one point but i don't think you give these out early so joe must have been using something else, do you guys know which keyboard joe was using?
joe mama
@@May-sy1uo they're not supposed to know
wHo'S jOe?
does it work on ps4?
QMK/VIA still doesn't work, the keyboard isn't recognized and Keychron doesn't provided json file yet...shame
VIA and southfacing? Take my money!
It won't beat IBM's talking keyboard, not yet. Maybe K9, the Shepherd.
I am good with my k8 pro
The k8 Pro is basically a better version then this... This is a similar keyboard, just smaller.
mid follow up to the v1
how?
@@Mustafa-eo4qk because the v1 was a good budget build then this one is very mediocre
@@ikono. iirc the only difference between the v1 and the k6 pro is the fact that the k6 pro has wireless connectivity for 20 more dollars, so I don't really see how it's "mid"
Is K2 pro version is coming soon?
I received my Keychron K6 Pro from the Kickstarter and was semi pleased.
Some issues I encountered:
1. One of the keycaps had a broken stem (the plastic was completely shattered).
2. The aluminum slides have a slight gap that squeaks on the long side when picking up the keyboard, and the corners do not line up where the long and short slides meet, I've tried to reseat them and even switching sides to see if any difference, to no avail.
These are slight QC issues I don't care about but wanted to state.
Now to the issues that does annoy me:
1. The keyboard is advertised as being able to have N-Key rollover. The keyboard does not have N-Key rollover! Limit to only 6 keys, and then it stops registering keys.
This is both in Bluetooth and wired mode. Why?
2. The "hot swap" sockets used is the worst I've ever encountered, taking out the included Keychron Brown Pro switches was a battle to the point where most of the switches got damaged pulling them out. The switches were so stuck in these sockets I first thought it was the switch housing that was a problem where you unhook them, but after switching out to some other switches and back, the newly inserted switches were equally stuck! I later inspected the sockets, and it seems that the metal that contacts and holds the switches are not equal on each switch, they look "twisted" and by that they "hook" the switches stuck.
On most hot swap sockets the switches will go in and out without any issues, so the sockets used are 100% the issue here, not sure if I was really unlucky with my unit.
To say the least, the Keychron Brown Pro switches are great and no issues on them, can recommend these for use, really stable switches with smooth tactile actuation.
If these issues were not there, this keyboard would be 100% complete in my book.
Was I just unlucky with the Kickstarter purchase or is this the same for all batches?
On my Keychron V1, the enter and backspace browns switches were so hard to remove I broke the brown stock ones 😅 so annoying but otherwise my one is ok I guess.
idk about the hotswap sockets but the keyboard does have N-KEY rollover you have to press FN+N to enable it because it is disabled by default.
the only thing I don't like about keychron keyboards in general is how tall they are compared to others on the market.
probably because of amount of layers they putting like silicone also might be marketing trick that forces u to buy their palm rest thing which costs a little bit too much imo.
Just got mine. Regret it. QMK/VIA doesnt work at all, actually ruined the built in RGB modes. Bluetooth connection is spotty, feet are not very sturdy. Its great but for the price there are better options. If everything worked as advertised it would be great but you are essentially paying for via support which is not there. Sounds fantastic though!!
sheesh now just I regret my regular K6 don't have software support but seeing this would not make want keychron at all, what are your good alternatives?
Will you guys be making 8000hz q series in the future?
if you can create POM plates or other material options besides aluminium, i'll take 2
Playing fall guys as gaming is hilarious but cool 😂 I liked it
Where is the knob?
I bought the k6 yesterday ;-;
K6 Pro is shipping in October, a few months waiting.
@@KeychronKeyboard still :(((
@@KeychronKeyboard India availability?
now I regret buying K6 2 years ago, why can't the regular K6 don't have software support, I wish there's a software firmware update on existing K6
That mouse looks sick?
All good
But wish you make white versions..
waiting for keychron k6 pro ultra
Need k4 pro
I just bought this keyboard and for the life of me I cannot seem to get the delete ( fn1 + [ ) button combination to work :)) Anyone else having this issue?
NOTE: The mode is for windows, although I don't think this should be of any importance
My K6 Pro is on the way. I'm afraid it'll have issues... but for you, try checking your VIA and see what your 'delete' is binded to. Perhaps that is what's causing it. let me know if you found a fix, just in case anybody else needs it :D
Did you need additional software to get the delete combination key to work?
😍😍
Don't know why there is still a dedicated lighting button where the Delete key should be, but at least we can change it now (hint: include a Del keycap; oh, and these new keycaps are ugly). But anyway, looks like we'll have to wait for the K6 Pro v2 that will fix the USB-C port location issue.
this one comes with a southfacing led pcb, which is such a good deal in my opinion
👍😍
Sound test plz.
Will have it in around 2 weeks.
