- The Keychron K6 is a small wireless mechanical keyboard for windows and mac users. I have been loving mechanical keyboards for a while and the 68 keys Keychron K6 really took that to the next level. The aluminum frame and the small size make the keyboard perfectly portable. The hot-swappable feature allows the user to change individual switches in a matter of seconds. I love the Gateron Brown switches and would definitely recommend them.

I have the K6 for about a month now. The first couple of weeks, I used it stock with Gateron Browns. I've since swapped it out for Glorious Pandas, lubed those switches as well as the stabs, added some foam and have also swapped out the stock ABS keycaps for the PBT.
I was already liking it stock, and am liking it even more now. Have also yet to even charge it for almost a month now, and I've been using it daily averaging around 6 hours of use each day. Before I purchased this, I was also looking at the Epomaker GX68XS, the Akko 3068 and the Anne Pro II.
Glad I got this over the others, that 4,000mAh battery is a huge advantage.
about the foam mod, is there any specific kind of foam that you used?
I cant imagine better keys than Gateron Brown. Probably it is me but - those are my choice for stock pnes.
@@AndyFTW100 you can use the foam that comes in the box and just cut it to fit.
What PBT keys did you replace the ABS ones with? I'm thinking of replacing, and want to keep the same grey color scheme

I got this keeb for my birthday a few days ago and it's treating me very well for my first mechanical keyboard. Would definitely recommend for anyone who wants an affordable, portable keyboard that doesn't sacrifice its quality for the price. Amazing video as well!

The “Aluminium Version” is btw just the standard version with an aluminum frame slapped on.
If you take off the screws, you’ll have the plastic version.

I am kind of newish to the mechanical keyboard world. I was thinking of getting also a keyboard from keychron. I liked most if it, e.g. the key distribution, switches, the design... however, my biggest concern was the height of it, and the need of an extra table to laydown the wrist. I did not want to have extra things on my desktop, for me... the less the better. For that only reason, I bought the slim one from RK ... and i love it.
Which model from RK did you go with?

Found a K6 for $40 on ebay and researched a bit. This video got me so excited, and I love your setup! The KRK's, scarlett, and mic had me wondering if you also produce your own music? Looks very similar to mine and I'm a producer and student!

Cool video! You should consider to switch your keycaps with some good PBT ones, there are some with similar colors, there are some which are doubleshot PBT+ABS (more affordable) or doubleshot full PBT (better quality but more expansive), or even better PBT with sublimation printed chars which are a nice choice in between

I got the backlit one because I’m not much of an rgb guy but as my first keyboard, I love it and I definitely recommend it for anyone who wants a thicc boy, satisfying clicks, and monochrome aesthetic keyboard.
It'd be great if they made a white backlight with the aluminum case.

Thank you so much. Writing scripts has helped me a lot to get a clearer structure in my head before starting to film. Also, the typing test is an amazing piece of coding I used from a very talented coder. The link is in the description.
you can use fn2 + L + light button to turn off the light ;) also fn1 + L + light for 2-3s locks the lights

Very good keyboard for gaming and minimal. For traveling I have the logitech mx mini also you will find cases for this and the mx master you already have. I bought them from amazon
I think this would be a serious contender for entry level mech champion, although I still have a really hard time finding alternative keycaps for it.
Look for key sets that includes non-standard sized keycaps as part of the package, such as the 1.75U Right Shift. There's also the Fn 1 and Fn 2 keys which are rare in keysets. But if the key sets comes with extra 1U with picture icons (or blanks) you can easily use those as replacements
The keycaps are thin ABS. Like, really thin. Not to mention that the Gateron Browns may be very susceptible to spring 'ping'. I prefer them over Cherry Browns, tho. I've lubed my switches, and using them with an ePBT Dolch set at the moment and the experience is far better compared to stock. An easy modification that may dampen the reverb of bottoming out a little bit is to put some foam in the case. It's a nice board to get into the whole mech keyboard scene, and given that it's hot-swappable it's a lot easier to find a switch that you really like or tinker with them.
