    Thanks for the great video, I have power automates to share to the colleagues as well, with this method, any user using the app is using the power automate connections of the owner only, what to do in this case?

    Superb stuff as always April, one more thing I have pinned Issue Reporting App but it is not working properly due to Task+Planner and some other bug.

      Thanks Shahrukh! I wonder if it's having trouble finding the associated plan. You have to configure that in the settings when you first install the app

    Dear April, great content. Congrats. Have a quick question: it's been a while since you published this video. Has it been included the possibility to share the teams app with individual users within your organization instead of shearing it with the whole team you select to share it with? Many thx in advance. Appreciate it

    Great video April, thank you. Does the Share with Colleagues option add to the 1000 members limit?

  • @adamk7743
    @adamk7743 3 года назад

    Hi April
    When I share app via 'Built by Org' method, and if a user adds the app, he sees access denied as he cannot access the app. Even if he requests access and when the owner gets the email, the owner clicks on Share App - it doesn't open the share app dialog as the app in teams env. (not a normal power app).
    I see that the only way to share an app (which is in a teams env) to someone who is not in the team is via the 'Share via Colleagues' which works via the AD group.
    Please correct me if I am wrong

    Great video April. To use this if my users have an e3 license which power apps std and teams. Will need a cds or dataverse which is the new name or is this version is already baked into teams

    • @AprilDunnam
      @AprilDunnam  3 года назад

      Hey! Great question - anything you build in Dataverse for Teams only requires E3 or equivalent Teams licensing. You don't have to pay for extra Power Apps licensing which includes CDS/Dataverse. The only reason you would need to pay for extra licensing is if you were trying to use other premium features in the Dataverse for Teams app like AI Builder or any of those premium connectors.

    Hello April. I have created a Dataverse for Teams environment with a PVA Chatbot that stores data in tables via Power Automate actions. When I share the PVA bot with my team members, there were able to see the tables within Power Apps. They were able to delete & modify those as well. Through the Manage Permissions option, we are able to set the permissions only the record level. Conceptually, how the team members can be allowed to delete & modify tables but not allowed to make changes to the records. Please help informing how to restrict it.
    Thanks for excellent video...

    can't see this manage permissions option. I think whenever someone builds anything to show on youtube it works fine but not in practical. Power Platform is really messy to use

    What about creating an app like the sample apps. Meaning developing an app template.
    Something that when a team member/owner installs it they are asked to connect the connector and dataverse tables are created in their teams dataverse environment. Not sharing the table you have in yours. Is anything like this possible?

  • @Worrelpa
    @Worrelpa 3 года назад +1

    Good improvement but still a little limited. As in you cannot have more than one group. Would be good to be able to set one group for the Read only role, some with full access and others with collaborative. Though we can do that a little with the group members , Owners roles. Still you cannot have everything.

    • @MrMal0w
      @MrMal0w 3 года назад

      You can create and manage permission in your app with table too

    Excellent ! .... Is is possible for the issues tracker app create a ticket from an inbound email ????

    • @AprilDunnam
      @AprilDunnam  3 года назад

      Hey! You could definitely do that with Power Automate! There's a trigger for "when an email is received". You can use that to kick off a workflow that will go in and add a ticket in the underlying data source. Here's some more info: docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-automate/email-triggers#:~:text=Sign%20in%20to%20Power%20Automate,%20and%20then%20select,email%20arrives%20(V3)%20from%20the%20list%20of%20triggers.

    Hi April, thanks very much for this video. I just rewatched it again after 6 months and I'm still learning from it. I have 3 questions on the 'Share with colleagues' functionality.
    Are there plans to share with multiple groups? And have different groups accessing different apps?
    It would be great to see an 'Everyone' group like in SharePoint permissions, is this going to be possible?
    I can't see the same groups here as I can see in my Azure Active Directory admin center. Is this normal?
    Thanks again for all your great videos!🤸‍♂️

    A note that when you add the app in the end for all users to see on the left, it takes awhile before it shows .... be patient :) thanks April!

    • @AprilDunnam
      @AprilDunnam  3 года назад +1

      Yes great call out! I have seen it take up to a few hours for that to show up at times. Majority of the time it's within 30 minutes or so for me though. But patience is needed for sure :)

      @@AprilDunnam also maybe add a piece for after you export and. Import that zip to the tenant level, how and where they would do an update. Is it my imagination but all I had to do was publish to teams to make it work?

    Hi April. Great video. Can you also embed apps created originally in Teams in a power apps webpart in sharepoint modern site? Thanks in advance for the answer.

    • @AprilDunnam
      @AprilDunnam  3 года назад

      Hey Sascha - Right now apps that are created within Dataverse for Teams can only be used exclusively within Microsoft Teams. If you wanted to embed in SharePoint you would need to create a standalone Power App. You can export a Dataverse for Teams app though and import into make.powerapps.com to do that

    Hi April, I have a question about table permissions maybe you can help? I have an app with a main table that all users should be able to write to, but which has look up columns to other reference tables. If I put the permissions as reference for those tables, the users are unable to write to the main table as it says they don't have permission. It means I have had to give full access to all tables to allow for the lookup columns to be patched. Is this normal? I've recreated it on another app and the behaviour is the same.
