- Today Antonio & I review "Unfrosted: Comedy Masterpiece or Missed the Mark?" This hilarious satire, starring Jerry Seinfeld, dives into a quirky take on the space race-only this time, it's all about the creation of the Pop-Tart between cereal giants Post and Kellogg's. While the concept is undeniably funny, does the execution hold up?
Antonio and I couldn't wait to share our thoughts on this film. From its laugh-out-loud moments to scenes that felt like a never-ending Super Bowl commercial, we cover it all. Did it live up to the hype, or did it miss the mark? We also delve into why Jerry Seinfeld’s humor might not resonate with younger generations and how this movie compares to classics like "Bee Movie" and "Seinfeld."

It WAS shelved, we shot this shit from June 2022-Aug 2022, I was on set almost every day, but didn’t work post-production, and expected it out last March (2023) but I’m sure what happened is that the movie was so bad they had to like, figure out how to make it work and this garbage is the best they could come up with 😭😭😭
Dang man hope you got paid well at least!
@@AidenandAntoniowatchmovies I DID, once you’re in a union and on sets the money starts POURING. So yes I got paid very well to work on this piece of shit lolol
Huge Seinfeld fan here and a Generation Xer. You made a great point by asking "I don't know what it is about this younger generation, having a different sense of humor"...as a gen xer, there is some nostalgia in this movie that worked for me. Otherwise, this movie is really silly, but still enjoyable and entertaining (on first watch).
Don't have Netflix, so I haven't seen it, but based on reviews and a few of the clips, I get a sort of 30 Rock vibe in terms of the humor they were going for. I liked 30 Rock for the most part, but it was only a half-hour sitcom. Maybe this sort of writing doesn't work as well in the format of a full movie.
I worked on this movie.
Once I watched it, I felt embarrassed for working on it 😭😭😭
but it was a fun time on set, Jerry isn’t THAT big of an asshole but he’s close.
He's like a lot of comics, miserable. Look at interviews with the greats. Leno, Letterman, and many more. They're not very happy people in general. It's basically the entire basis for the Krusty the Clown character.
I'm an elder British gen Z. I really like weird comedy from over here, including a lot of older stuff, but clips I've seen make it look like a live action Food Fight from that obnoxious nonce from Comedians in Cars getting coffee (Seinfeld isn't popular here- I don't know if it was shown over here at the time). I definitely don't think I'll check this out, despite the interesting premise.
Anyway, I subbed! Great video!
Obnoxious nonce is a pretty apt description of Jerry Seinfeld lol. I’m not terrible familiar with any older British variety shows, I’ll have to check out your channel to see who I should look into. Thanks for the sub!
@@AidenandAntoniowatchmovies Aw thank you!
I felt this movie had great jokes that just didn't feel correctly done in most cases
Solid take
Seinfeld is not a screenwriter, director, or even a sketch writer. He's a standup who crafts material for himself. No skills otherwise, except celebrity. No surprise this would be terrible.
He's incredibly unlikeable, as well. In interviews and on his show.
I can’t get past the thought this is just Kellogg propaganda to boost their sales.
Consume consume consume
I am 50 in a few months and couldn't agree more! It isn't an age thing its just 95% garbage.
Agreed!
So here's a thought (from an old Gen X guy):
What makes a movie a comedy? Lots of movies are funny. MCU movies have a ton of jokes. The Last Jedi had enough laughs it was hard to take seriously at times. But they're not properly labeled "comedies". I basically take that term as an excuse for the plot being stupid. But even when I want to laugh that's not a positive quality.
So give me a good movie that's funny. Not a comedy.
That’s a great point, especially with superhero movies the comedy in them feels like it’s used to avoid being called cheesy if it’s played to serious.
Oooo that's an interesting theory!
Great review guys. I hate that you are both younger than me and funnier than me.
I’m glad you enjoyed it!
The thing about millenials is...they've also moved on, having seen this when it was fresh, so this kind of comedy feels incredibly dated or as Jerry Seinfield would say "you've lost your sense of humour.....because you're, like, a gay king...what's the deal with that?"
i was born in the 1300's yeah its not an age thing this would've been funny if i was blind deaf and fumb with someone tickling my feat. SEINFIELD ITS OVER
🤨
SNL is high IQ? Lmao
You gotta be a registered Mensa Member to enjoy the jokes.
For people who think the Space Race was btw Germany and Russia, that may seem to be true.
🤓☝️
I know you put some text to correct, but godamn, dude, Space Race between Russia & GERMANY? Also, the country is not called America, it's called the United States. Also, the other country was not Russia. It was the Soviet Union. Jesus, guys, cone on.
Dude I know, i don’t know how I spaced so hard, in editing I was facepalming when I realized what I said. Anyways thanks for the watch.
@@AidenandAntoniowatchmovies Sorry I was so harsh. History is kinda my thing, and the post-war/cold war stuff especially. You're young, I should cut you guys some slack.
@@johnjones3813 ahah you’re good. Honeslty I’m disappointed in myself because I do know it was between The USSR technically and not Russia and the USA I just totally wasn’t thinking. Especially since I love “For All Mankind” which is what the whole show is about.
“Space race btw. Russia and Germany,” WTF. Read a book.
Man I know you didn’t just ignore the big yellow words correcting my statement!
It take a lot to offend me, but when I heard the words "space race" and "Germany" I almost lost it, and not in a laughing way.
You’re doing cynical movie reviews all wrong
Damn no one told me we were doing cynical movie reviews
Guess the other 42 people didn’t care
@@jlambert12013what would you do better?
@@Chief24.7 Perhaps having more interesting things to say other that "it's dumb" and that it's not for their generation...over and over and over.
I'm not even defending the movie. But the review was extremely redundant. Couldn't even make it halfway.
@@Chief24.7 it’s suppose to be a fun, dumb movie. It’s basically a kids movie for adults. The review seems somewhat cynical to me, so I gave a cynical reply.
