    Might be different in each state, though my Nephew who is a 2nd year panel beater does schooling along with working at a panel shop. In his first year at school they got them to make a bonnet scoop so that they could practive metal shaping.

    I have missed the last few episodes. I like the early episode today. I have watched other channels and aim finding the flasher the shops the more Plastic Fillers they use. I am loving how you guys are not like the other Guys. They seem to all fill every car and don't car. Keep up the good work and its unreal what you learn doing your trade thanks for sharing Mick.

    Well done boys it’s going to look great when finished. Keep up
    The good work. And I like the early Sunday upload cheers 🍻. Also love how you guys give each other shit and have a very great relationship. I have also noticed watching you really show up close and don’t just fly over with camera. You guys actually show what it takes you to do it properly. I have watched these so called big dollar builds and they just bog the shit out of them lol. I could never pay 100k and know my car is just covered in fillers. I will be watching you guys finish this car and I will need my projects restored from you Gentleman. I don’t mind paying for a proper job. Cheers 🍻

      @pai7870 thank you for your comment and yes your spot on if a build goes over 100k it should be done correct. We get private messages from car guys talking about this all the time. thanks for watching.

    G'day,
    Things are moving on nicely.
    Q. You have the car up on stands. Sitting on her wheels at the front and hanging in the rear. Given that these things move around a bit, will the door gaps be different when she's back on Terra firma.
    Thanks for sharing another great video ✌️ Peace from Melbourne/Pakenham.

      @adamsonautobody  9 месяцев назад +1

      Hi Kev. Good question and a very important one. We always make sure the stands are under the diff and always make sure for the final fit up its on its wheels. I think back in an old episode on the vh commodore we might have explained this. This is where you see guys that don't have the experience line a car up on a rotisserie and weld it up. That is a massive mistake. Later on they will have bad gaps.

    I have had genuine panels from another car not fit the same because depends which plant it came from and the dies calibration that stamped it.

    Ha so at tech you actually learnt metal finishing 👌 its a dieing art. Kids at tafe these days struggle with sanding bog flat n straight haha should always learn the old ways first i reckon makes for a better tradesmen

      @adamsonautobody  9 месяцев назад

      Hi @alanjones99 yes 4 years doing apprenticeship and learning plenty. It's a shame for the young guys today that are keen to learn how to repair a car and not just swap a panel. Thanks for watching

    The truth is Those old toranas were a very ordinary cheaply built car back in the day, they couldn't even get the steering column straight. No wonder your having trouble getting things to line up.

    • @adamsonautobody

    It must be time for Carbon Fibre copies off original body parts for the restoration industry,they do it for super cars ,the technology is
    there.
    Wondering if 3D printing of body panels could become reality ,maybe aluminium ?
    You talking about the old trades,then maybe the new way is Carbon Fibre copies,3D scanning and then the printing .
    Look at McLaren woth their use of Carbon Fibre
    Instead of cheap knock off parts ,creation of creditable alternatives .
    New tech will be not panel beating but panel making 😊

    • @honestpat7789
      @honestpat7789 9 месяцев назад

      Already a lot of fibreglass repro panel’s out there. Carbon fibre panels also exist for the old 105 series Alfa Romeo coupe and some Porsche cars ✌️

    • @adamsonautobody
      @adamsonautobody  9 месяцев назад

      We have used fibreglass over the years and the problem is it must pass the legal and safe side as roadworthy and fibre glass moves in the heat and cold and makes a bad finish even when its rubbed back dead straight.

      @@adamsonautobody
      Take a look at DDE,Tavarish and other channels,they have links to Carbon Fiber body parts ,that are using the tech (scanning)to exact reproduction bodies and body parts ,some are complete replacement bodies and tubs .
      Cheers
