Darryl you are very well spoken.
You could be a excellent teacher and having your qualifications like my self in our trade its good to see.
You have taught your son the same skill after I have watched the last 10 episodes.
Im just over the moon you Gentlemen are on youtube thanks Mick for keeping the real tradition going.
This is now my no 1 channel.
Can not beat the real deal in the trade.
Keep up the hard work and lets hope more guys see the correct ways.
It will help so many young panel beaters.
Keep it Real and Keep it Real Darryl & Mick
One last thing : your relationship is unreal and so good to see.

    G'day guys,
WOW, this part of the Torana is not for the faint hearted.
Bringing this floor back to spec really separates the men from the boys.
Next week is going to be a good episode. I'm interested to see how those rails fit from first try to spot welded in.
So thanks again for sharing more of the knowledge ✌️ Peace from Melbourne/Pakenham. 3810.

If I had something worth restoring, I’d only go to Darryl and Mick as their work has to be one of the finest coachbuilders/ Panel Beaters I’ve seen in such a long time. Their dedication to their work is unmatched these days. 👊👍💪👌😎

Mate I first seen these guys in a custom truck magazine.
They built Marc hammer Dixon s western star. True tradecraft.
The stainless steel work was next level on that truck.

Been watching you guys for a while now and I have finally subscribed.
My 12 years as a panel beater and it’s nice to see some proper work being done.
To many ruff jobs being done.
The rail looks great Darryl you have done that perfect and I can see you have had many years experience.
Mick you must be proud to have a dad like that
    .
    Keep making the videos.
People ask how much this costs.
They are probably born in tent.
The main thing is your customers don’t care and want the job done right as the same in my workshop.
Love the hammer knowledge as well nothing worse than blokes who can not hold a hammer.
Get that paint room up to boys.
    You will need it soon.

It's nice to put an old car on the hoist and see a nice straight floor and rails, people don't think about it but all cars look the same underneath and even newer car can be pretty beat up underneath, you will have this old gem looking like new, nice work fellows can't wait for the next episode,
BTW I must tell you how much I love work, I love work that much that I could watch people do it for hours :).
that's a Rodney Dangerfeild that one.

Is it a case of being bush-bashed or incorrect jacking? R32/R33/R34 Skylines often have similar looking damage, and it's usually due to getting a bit too ambitious with a jack in the wrong spot.

Nice way of explaining how steel works and how to repair it properly.. for instance same damage on a new Hyundai floor rail being of the hss steel or high carbon steel recycled shit you can’t panel beat it like you did on the bench like that as it has tendency to crack and become very weak we’re you hit it … the cool old 70s steel is the real deal and you can work it like you did perfectly .. so on that new model Hyundai you’d get a repair procedure telling you how to remove and replace the new section and a new rail section would come from Korea, Indonesia, Japan, or wherever so basically you’re not panel beater you’re a panel replacer .. not many bosses or panel beaters in today’s world actually know what you are showing people here .. love it great work great video

    Great vids guys!
Do you treat the inside of the rails before reassembly to reduce the onset of rust? Like a weld through primer or similar.

    • @adamsonautobody

Hey @IanHall-zx5bk we will show the process in the next episode.

Defenly been in past in a NRMA sausage factory. What a shame. On the flip side love seeing it done right now. Ps your right about the jig marks auto liners cill clamps were finer seration marks. Prob repaired in the 90s i would suspect.
