Good work Pops, someone missed the lessons on keeping the Grinder wheel flat and neat, remember how it was pounded into us at trade school and in the home workshop in the days of very few grinding tools available.

Good to see you’re only replacing the rusted section and not the whole sill , only replacing the damaged section is the way to go .

I can’t believe you’re replacing the sills; that factory spec rust gave these Holdens half their appeal. Brock did the rest 😂

Those tools are only designed for splitting the panel, not actually cutting the weld. You still have to grind/drill the spot weld first. I’ve got a set & they definitely speed up the process.

If its not a s/h remove and replace cut i recon you cannot beat a 10mm air beilt sander and a small bolster with the cutting edge and the side edge sharpened you can hit on the stem edge and side edge as you only sharpen 10 to 15 mm of the side edges

just cut the edge with an angle grinder then sand the rest off. Hitting it with a chisel is a waste of time effort and risk of injury .

Or maybe use the chisel after cutting the edge off so it is only trying to peel back a strip, rather than the panel with the edge.

    G'day guys,
I've just purchased one of those tools I'll let you know my thoughts on it once I've given it a road test.
    Q. I see on other channels people getting stuck in with an air hammer for removing spot welds. What's your thoughts on these tools. Are they any good or are they a case of a bull in a china shop scenario.
Thanks for sharing another great video ✌️ Peace from Melbourne/Pakenham.

Butchers! Use a spot weld drill first I.e. the traditional way! Doing it the way you are is creating more damage that then needs to be repaired.
