I felt the same way. Couldn't believe I never saw it in a theater, IMAX, or super wide 70 curved screen, 3D. Actually, I was hospitalized last Jan and there's where I first watched it. Since, I've watched it several times and still discovering new elements of the film that blow me away. A magnificent film indeed, and to cap this off, very underrated and misjudged.
Tom cruise was still thinking for the number 52 Vika, but she was programmed for just obeying the machine.I like the scene Julia talk to Jack in the secret garden.
I’m super late to this party, but this is AMAZING. I adore this. I adore the movie, and feel it’s so beyond underrated. This is such a gorgeous addition. I love how tragic this story is, and yet so full of hope in humanity and love. Who’s cutting onions?! I cry every time I listen to the movie score! Thanks for creating this piece of art! :)
Totally agree; most critics call it derivative cause it took a bunch of things from other movies, then used it to make a unigue concept: we thought we won the war but we didn't and out their our species is slowly being killed off until the Tet has all the power it needs, then will go and do it again to another world. Let all to die. I have never seen a movie like it; I consider only The Terminator and Star Wars Episode 4 more enjoyable than this classic.
A simple story: The Tet is an alien pyramidal artificial intelligent machine. It's mission go to planet to planet living or non-living consuming every last natural resources. Sixty years ago the Tet arrived on Earth and staying on orbit examining human civilization. Three U.S. astronauts went up to space to recon the Tet or try to communicate. The Tet saw the spaceship and uses its tractor beam to lure the astronauts in its ship. One of those astronauts was Jack Harper. The Tet use Jack and the female astronaut's DNA to produce a mighty army of clones to seek and destroy anything that moves. The Tet machines kill the three original human astronauts. The Tet uses its powerful weapon to blow up the moon into thousands of pieces. This cause the Earth to develop earthquakes, global volcanism and disturb its atmosphere. Mankind were in panic. Over 3 billion people died. After the quakes other global disasters, Tet start the invasion. It brought trillions and trillions of cloned Jack Harper soldiers trained hunt and kill without mercy. Another 3.8 billion survivors died. The remaining survivors went to hiding. The Tet start to use Jack Harper and female clones with other machines to collect Earth's resources. Once Earth becomes a dead planet, the Tet leaves taking everyhing with it.
Not Three astronauts but 13 (ish) with two awake to Control the ship. | And we don't know what happened to the original Jack Harper and Victoria. Maybe they where kept alive to have their DNA stored, creating clones from clones isn't perfect. | The Moon was probably blown up into something Close to billions if not trillions of pieces. | I doubt it brought trillions of cloned Jack Harpers, way to many. It'd serve no use. Freeman's character in the Movie said he saw 'thousands'' exit from drop ships or a single drop ship. |
franciscomoutinho1.. There is no ice in the moon, it is a dead rock. Even if there was.. They'd have to mine to get it and refine it to get only the ice and not residual rocks then heat it and process it. A waste of energy. Much more efficient to target a planet filled with water. And blowing up Earth's moon is a logical way to kill Humanity. Life as we know it can not exists without our moon due to the Earth's wobbly nature, maybe read up on it Before commenting.
+h5 " In November 2009, NASA re-confirmed water on moon with its LCROSS space probe which detected a significant amount of hydroxyl group in the material thrown up from a south polar crater by an impactor"" , emphasis on RE-CONFIRMED. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lunar_water ... maybe read up on it Before commenting, or just not comment at all until you fix your attitude. ...the part of life not existing without the moon's granting Earth's "wobbly nature", in circumstances where small variations of gravity are a not relevant, life still exists. It would mostly affect tides, not even near the cataclysmic effect described in the movie that would kill half the earth's population. In fact, for a fraction of what it costs to blow up the moon, using a part of the same energy on earth, or simply diverting a large enough asteroid or several would be far more efficient.
This movie didn’t do that well. But is had a lot of interesting ideas. For example the technology is pretty cool, the plot is relatively descent, and the setting was beautiful. They should make a TV about what happened before Jack Harper Tech-49
I wouldn't mind a frame slide prequel such as this, animated, and voiced by the actors. Maybe 40 minutes long detailing the arrival of the Tet and the decimation of Earth...
I think the Tet was created by an Alien species, an Ai that became rogue and turned on it’s creators. And it travelled for lightyears until it found a planet with life, Earth.
This movie gets such a bad rep. The Tet was one bad ass machine I mean you had the spaceships in Independence Day and Independence Day 2 and World of Worlds that failed miserably while the Tet wiped out the human race like nothing.
This absolutely amazing. Exactly how i imagined it. So terrifying, one alien machine can wipe us all out and render our planet useless in less than 60yrs and leave us barren. Alien AI intrigues me, we may not be the ones to build Skynet but something out there might and life in the the Universe is doomed. oooooh!! I do love my imagination, even though it scares me sometimes 🤣
Multiplying to wipe out humanity then repopulate the earth with thousands of clones creating a giant race of the same bloodline..that seems like something Tom cruise would do lmao this is a highly underrated movie
It's an entertaining movie. The one thing just broke it for me, was that was aliens stole water from a planet, inside a gravity well, rather than all the ice floating around our solar system. Simply too obvious an error, and only left in to justify the movie plot.
Only a 2 or class 3 civilization would be so cold to unleash a TET To dismember another enemy civilization like this!! 1 Disrupt their planets moons, from orbit, should they have any!! 2 Gravity Sling Asteroids at their planet, from orbit, untill the majority of the planets surface is polverized & Incinerated clean!
Me and my wife watched this the other day. It's such an underrated movie. I called it from the beginning though that Tom cruise and the red head were actually the aliens and the "Scavs" were really the humans. That's a cool concept though the aliens destroying the moon, then capturing and cloning an astronaut to use as basically a clone army to take over the rest of the planet.
This movie is about the afterlife... they were dead the moment they flew into the Tet and the rest of the movie is about their souls trying to get to paradise (and Tom finally gets there)
Makes me wish the movie did well enough for a prequel.
Same here, I thought it was one of the best movies tom cruise did. It was sure as hell a great sci fi movie.
Everyone wants a prequel.. That would be watching Humanity get slaughtered by an army of Tom Cruises... A sequel would do better.
an army of tom Cruises spreading scientology and killing non-believers lol
n3rdbear I'd Watch that show, would you?
Not every good movie needs a prequel or sequel. Let it just be a good movie.
“You don’t have to die Jack, she doesn’t have to die”
“Everybody dies, Sally, the thing is to die well”
"I created you Jack. I am your God!"
"Fuck you Sally."
"Welcome home, Jack."
This really was a magnificent movie. It blindsided me entirely.
I felt the same way. Couldn't believe I never saw it in a theater, IMAX, or super wide 70 curved screen, 3D. Actually, I was hospitalized last Jan and there's where I first watched it.

Fearful Odds, the crescendo towards the end of the piece, fabulous 👌
Cheers, it was real fun todo.

Why blow up the moon? Just seems overkill from a story and motive wise. They could have just farmed the ice in it.

Not when you consider using simple biological warfare.

agreed
Thank you
M83’s soundtrack is amazing..
I wouldn't mind a frame slide prequel such as this, animated, and voiced by the actors. Maybe 40 minutes long detailing the arrival of the Tet and the decimation of Earth...
The actors? You mean Tom cruise? 😂
Bro, this deserves an award! I am a huge fan of Oblivion, even today, my 2nd favorite Tom Cruise film. Amazing!
great movie! You captured the essence of Oblivion. Let's hope Cruise continues making sci fi!
minority report - oblivion - edge of tomorrow ... what a trilogy of original scifi's
trevor storey don't forget war of the world's!
This is excellent Trevor, thanks for uploading. Oblivion is one my favourite science fiction films, and I think one of Tom Cruise's best.
beeman2075 cheers ;)
I think the Tet was created by an Alien species, an Ai that became rogue and turned on it’s creators. And it travelled for lightyears until it found a planet with life, Earth.
The tet are interdimensional and we have gone through the events of this movie 200 years ago we are the cleanup crew
I remember there being an actually scene showing the army of Jacks arriving and now i can't find it anywhere not even in the movie itself
I love this movie. One of my all time favorite sci-fi movies
dannyboyemt it’s a modern classic
I give me nuts for a prequal and sequal please take me nuts sir
Very impressive. And quite enjoyable too. Bravo!
This movie gets such a bad rep. The Tet was one bad ass machine I mean you had the spaceships in Independence Day and Independence Day 2 and World of Worlds that failed miserably while the Tet wiped out the human race like nothing.
Metal Head Taking out the moon was a seriously smart move.
Yeah , I was amazed that finally the Alien use their brain.
hahaha true
Wiped out the human race? Wasn't it humans that destroyed the Tet?
Erai 559 well yeah once they realize they were working for them
This needs more views. Excellent.
+Amit5344Production Cheers ;)
+Amit5344Production Indeed it does.
So would that be called the Tet offensive?
bumbum tish ;)
trevor storey
I just had to ;).
In the movie or in the Vietnam war?
ᎡΔᎦᎦαᏣΗυᎦᎦᎧᎿᎦ ΕΓραᎦΩ Tet is the Vietnamese new year
yes this is about the Vietnam War I guess lol
the Oblivion.. what a brilliant movie.
This is great work.
Theres no need for a prequel or a tv show. the movie wasnt made for the masses. Great video!
I wish I had seen this as a movie.
one of the best films I've ever seen
This is so much better than the "how it should have ended" crap! Well done Sir!
Cheers Viper - its a cracking film.
Great job!
I loved oblivion and still do. I watch it every time I see its on. It’s a great story, with great scoring to go with it.
Dude... This is so cool thank you !
cheers ;)
This is how I imagined the prequel comic would be
I do believe this was the last movie that I ever went to a theater to watch. It was worth seeing it that way the first time.
Trevor - this is excellent - and it would have been a fine addition to the film.
cheers, it was much fun todo.
Thanks for all the great feedback ;)

Bravo!
Freeman is incredible!
This is awesome, man. Great work!
Cheers ;)
Excellent concept video. Outstanding
There should be a sequel where the humans starts the uprising. This movie deserves a fair good remake.
Or a prequel where we see the tets origin's
A great film that will eventually become a cult classic, given time. Nice animated concept, too.
A prequel to this would be great
Well made for a concept video :)
thankyou ;)
What a great short feature. Loved it thanks.
I guess no SciFi movie can compete that sound track other than Interstellar.😉
Puru Mohite Interestelar is a Masterpiece! :')
The TV pilot for the remake of BSG is very close.
The soundtrack elevated this movie
Amazing, I love this film.
This is a beautiful masterpiece
Respect for making this. Thank you :)
Winistan glad you enjoyed it ;)
I wish this was depicted in the movie. It sends a different vibe when a person sees what happened during the alien invasion of Earth.
Superb!!!
This will always be my most favorite movie..
Wow great job.
The Tet was an interesting villain.
"I created you, Jack. I am your god."
....
"Fuck you, Sally."
Well Done!!! Yes!, a prequel would be superb!
This movie deserves a prequel
Emerging pattern , "I saw the moon being taken out of the sky"
Great work! Looks beautiful, just makes me wish they did more movies for this 😢
The Tet had coolest looking desalination plants.
Such a good movie.
Darth Tyranus would had love this.
to add to the others that praise this.. may I say ? WELL DONE.. I AND WE WANT MORE .!!!!!!!!!!!
The best sci fi movie I have ever seen and that musical score was on a different movie. I felt this movie long after I left the theater.
Good job man! 👍🏻
Multiplying to wipe out humanity then repopulate the earth with thousands of clones creating a giant race of the same bloodline..that seems like something Tom cruise would do lmao this is a highly underrated movie
The “in camera” special effects was an important step.
Jon Favreau with The Mandalorian takes that special effect “to the next level”.
The book was great!
Script writers were careful to avoid calling it the Tet Offensive.
It's an entertaining movie. The one thing just broke it for me, was that was aliens stole water from a planet, inside a gravity well, rather than all the ice floating around our solar system. Simply too obvious an error, and only left in to justify the movie plot.
Space is fake water is the most precious thing in this dimension it's everything it's all liquid
Kudos man... friggin cool
Great work, pal!
Strong work here, dude!
thanks
I love the line - "We are all going to die, the key is to die well."
Awesome work trevor storey, this should be used to pitch a tv series based on the movie
suijurisinfowarrior cheers dude ;)
Still want a prequel.
One of my favorite scenes from the movie
Excellence at it's best! ay da go man! ;-) love this movie and the music!
Well done man
This was beautiful!!!!
cheers ;)
Cheers

Apart Tom Cruise it was indeed a pure sci fi movie.

i like your work!
This movie is about the afterlife... they were dead the moment they flew into the Tet and the rest of the movie is about their souls trying to get to paradise (and Tom finally gets there)
TET VS Death star, i mean yep.
Well done, but the music is too loud.
Amazing work.
Thank you for your imagination....I loved the movie
You forgot "I just had to find a way to bring you back." at the end.
I didn’t, I ended it right where I wanted it to as it worked better for the clip.
It's so beautiful. Just watching this and can't stop crying.
Very well done!
When fanworks are better than the movie.
One thing that made this video looks cool. Narrated by Morgan Freeman.
nice animation good job
cheers ;)
Beautiful stuff man, I love it!
Perhaps, if the music wasn't so loud, I could hear what the narrator was saying.
The Scrambler looks like a storm trooper mask Venus face
It would have been great to have a prequel so you could see the tet in action when invading the earth.
Thanks bro!
brilliant man...
I loved this movie
im just sitting here wondering how there;s any ocean water left at all after they had been sucking it up for 50 years
Cheers!
I need a movie now....
