Great review and your previous drive in the GT was watched by me far too many times! Did the trick though, helped me buy my GT! best car I’ve ever owned and the attention it gets is utterly insane.
@@benpenagonzales6014 Thank you, it had to be a 3rd car for me and the one silver lining of growing older and kids leaving the nest is that I can get a 2 seater! I make an effort to have a drive out every few weeks but just being in it, even popping to the shops, feels like an event.
Now all you have to do is try the R. I have to tell you that this Sanremo has that truly wonderful burgundy carbon roof. On the wheels, I agree, I love them black on sports cars. I have an R because I wanted an extreme one, with all the carbon that I love, with unique aerodynamic features, engineering solutions, carbon wheels and crazy interiors with seats always in carbon. In addition, I bought the version with Pikes Peak livery, almost the only one in the world, I don't know if you know it (it comes from the race in Colorado in 2023). In any case, I agree with everything you said. Extraordinary car and still little understood. Greetings from Italy.
So you're video was really helpful, in so much as I bought a San Remo this week. I've owned 911 GT3's (996 mk2), a Lotus Exige 420, Mustang Bullit, MNR kit cars and also a ton of other nice sporty things, being a biker. However, this Alpine San Remo, point to point is the most effective tool for brisk B road driving, even more so than the 2 excellent Ford Focus RS Mk3 which I owned and thought could not be beat for that task. The retro styling appeals to me for the heritage, but I feel it may miss the more conservative Apline buyers, who like muted colours, and is not relevant to younger buyers who 1. May not be able to afforfd it and 2. Don't relate to the era. The decals are excellent, it makes it stand out, I won't be removing them. There are only 15 cars in the UK, and after 500 miles in mine, from motorway to Scottish loch side roads, I am very happy. Over time I may do the LFE geometry changes, and possibly upgrade the suspension. It is a truly wonderful car, and worth every penny of the £78,000 it costs to own in my opinion. If you want to stand out from the crowd and don't intened to do track days, road being your focus, it's THE car to get.
That’s really great to hear! Thanks Steve 👍 they’re excellent cars (you know this anyway) You nailed the explanation of the car here! Enjoy your ownership 👍
I love the idea of the A110 but I'd be more tempted to buy a mildly used base model than this special edition. The idea of spending £80K for a shade of paint, a few stickers, some carbon & alcantara doesn't appeal to me at all. At that price tag, I'd have to buy a manual V6 Emira ( or even Evora GT..) or Cayman GT4. My final 'reservations' with the A110 are the limited Dealer Network and how well it retains it's value (or not..)
They just haven’t made enough so bottoming out at 35-40k. That’s say 25% depreciation give or take and if you get a base on 0% finance that’s worth 2k each year offset against that
Always liked the look of these, and the Performamce, size and weight, however it’s probably an unpopular opinion but just like the Alfa 4c no manual option, unlike both Porsche and Lotus.
Max. Absolutely agree. Alpine 110 is one of the most " special and interesting" sports cars currently available. Okay the Porsche Cayman is the " obvious" choice... Exactly! So be different and buy a 110. Only forget all the Limited edition nonsense, buy a used 110 GT in blue and use it every day. Only just don't buy a flat white! 😂👍
so this car teaches you to stop by a coffee shop, get a great coffee in a real porclain cup, sit down for a moment and enjoy the great livery. enjoying life like you should, not baby-driving a great sports car just to avoid spilling that mediocre coffee in a mediovcre paper cup ;) ❤
@DrivenPlus like someone pointed out that's a hard sell when Lotus and Porsche offer similar cars but with a six pot. Personally it'd always be there. Also can't get away with the Renault part
Just looked at AutoTrader and all the 718 Caymans for sale there are 305 automatic vs 89 manual versions so it seems Alpine are catering for the majority of potential buyers. Having said that I do like my manual 986 Boxster S but always thought it would be even better if it was 200Kg lighter. If I was thinking of changing an Alpine would be at the top of the shortlist.

Good on you. I wanted to but would have to be a 3rd car for me and with kids I don’t think I’d ever get to drive it (work in London)
That’s amazing to hear! Glad you bought a GT, they’re fantastic cars. I agree, the attention it gets is amazing

Would love to drive the R! What a car that is, congratulations on having one! Thanks for watching from Italy 👋

They hold their value annoyingly well (if you are wanting a used one!)

Enjoyed the review.
Cheers
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks David
I love Alpines !!
Me too!
Great review as always max keep up the great work you do, I do love alpine 110 something different to a Porsche or lotus, best wishes from Cheshire
Thanks Scott!
Great review
Thank you!
Great review, love the colour of the San Remo and the 'red' carbon roof but can't get along with the stickers.
Thanks Kevin, definitely with you on that one

Thanks Keith! Big fan of the 110’s. Completely agree, be different and buy a 110
I’d have a white with brown interior and the fuchs 4 slots.
Nice review
Thanks!
Haha crazy price tag but an awesome car!
How long do you think the fuel pump will keep working …?
It’s French 😂
Alpine should be at 45k base and 60k special editions, and everything else in between those two prices
Agree, test drove the S, really liked it but none of them are worth more than 60k
80k is silly money. Great car.
it was like that before

Haha well said!
How much 😮
Yep!
@DrivenPlus like someone pointed out that's a hard sell when Lotus and Porsche offer similar cars but with a six pot. Personally it'd always be there.
Also can't get away with the Renault part
A fully specced Porcshe 718 Cayman GTS is £80k
What would you have Nosh? This or a GTS🤔
The Alpine
not having a manual gearbox is a no no for me, would NOT buy this car with the auto, sorry
