That very tall plant called the 'corpse flower', we have one in Hawaii at The Botanical Gardens in Nuuanu on the island of Oahu, and when it's time to bloom it's announced so people can come look and smell it.

Only the bloom stinks and as we learned, they last only a few days and it might take them up to 7 years to amass enough ressources for the next. A few days every couple of years isn't a big deal.
