The reason the doors swing up when you open them is in order for the door to clear the curb should there be one. Smart engineering and gives the car a look almost like a raptor starting to take flight.....
Not sure if you'll see this Bill, but I love the channel and just subscribed. Thanks for taking the time to do these videos, love the in depth on the cars. So refreshing from the rest of RUclips idiots.
The doors open up like that to ensure that you never bump it on some pesky little kerb. This looks elegant while keeping the door's paint and finish intact. These doors are called Swan doors.
@@rudolphguarnacci197 It's always both. It's a tasty mix of car culture, philosophy, anthropology, humor, despair and wisdom that all mingle so perfectly together.
Bill, i recently discovered your channel. Love your automotive knowledge and your sarcastic sense of humor with the mega sighs. I went back to your first video, a 2011 e350 from about 4 years ago. You were so polite and proper i thought “sounds like Bill but doesn’t do a video like Bill.” Then you climbed in the car And it started beeping at you and you went off. Lmao. “There ‘s Bill.” Anyway, love your videos and i’ll keep watching them from Where ever you do them.
That s*** is not keeping anybody's attention it's making me want to go look for another reviewer somebody that's actually reviewing a car instead of trying to be funny and they're not
I hope everything works out for you, Bill. My son and I really enjoy your videos! Funny and educational. If you start wearing high heels like Mary Ann, though, I’m out! 😂
Miss the old "stomping ground" Became quite familiar with all the interesting ancilliary aspects and environments, the birds, the roosters, Marty, etc. but its still Bill!
I came across Bill’s car reviews by accident view months ago and since then I have basically seen them all. Like his honest opinions and dry humor! All the way from Cape town, South Africa!
In case anyone missed the point; That was a tour-de-force review by Bill. That's the state of the art. No one does it better. Reminds me of what Russel Crowe said after he trashed the entire Coliseum in Gladiator; "Are you entertained~!??" You bet we are. Unabashedly and shamelessly entertained. Now, having watched both AH and AE of Naples for several years, I have to say, I hope you can still find-review-sell some of the more affordables that we loved to see at AE. Best to you and the new crew in Naples.
The first video i watched over a year ago was on a bmw z3. I had never see a youtube car sales video and thought what a great idea. The video cracked me up and i have been hooked since. Today i needed a video, i looked forward to them, a sliver of enjoyment in an otherwise miserable existence. Very glad to hear the videos will continue.
Do the new videos from your beautiful house I love looking around at your perfectly manicured gardens with those lovely exotic plants with the red foliage etc as your camera pans around the car you are presenting. I would love to see A review on a Rolls-Royce Phantom or a Bentley Or similar 👌 all the best with the new venture and great to see you back Bill ☑️🙏👍
Much love bill. Absolutely the best automotive reviews in every way absolutely knowledgeable studied over years of experience what are awesome delivery you have... So wherever you go and whatever Channel you devised I'm going to be watching. You offer something you can't really get anymore anywhere else and it's very appreciated
I had been doing valet parking until the virus took my job. I love automobiles going to car shows making videos of them and photographing cars. Do you know of any car places in Florida where I could do something like what you’re doing? I love the VH platform makes me think Van Halen LOL. Great to hear you. You’ve been the sunshine during this virus business. Thanks for the great information, the great sense of humor and keeping it real. You’re right there’s a storm on the way to Florida possibly. That’s wild a standard umbrella ☂ I wonder how much you can get for that on E bay. Thanks again for the great entertainment and be well🚘👍🏖
Bill, I’m in Australia and couldn’t buy a marque from you even if I could....but love your reviews and have a great laugh. You bring some colour to a soulless area. Good luck with the change, I will be watching as always.
I really enjoy every one of Bill’s videos I find his commentary very interesting and entertaining at the same time. If he was a DJ on the radio I would listen every day.
Bill, wishing you all the best in this new venture. I missed my regularly scheduled Auto Europa Naples notifications and your excellent reviews and banter. Great to see you back!
I have watched a ton of your reviews. You are a walking auto encyclopedia. Thanks for your intense knowledge and easy going way to make these videos so entertaining. Keep up the great work.
Great to see you back Bill. Always love your diatribes. Always loved the Aston Martin DB’s. ……. Incidentally , David Brown was a British industrialist formed his gearbox company in 1860 and eventually the company started manufacturing the popular range of the “David Brown , farm tractors” in the 20th century…… they ceased operation in 1988.
Love Bill ! his aversion to humanity and birds, coupled with his encyclopedic knowledge of cars makes him the go-to guy for car reviews. Glad Peter (A.K.A The Terminator!) had the sense to add Bill. All that being said, MaryAnne is easier on the eyes! Keep em both ! Welcome aboard Bill !
Beautiful car, and as you say the connection between Jaguar and Aston Martin was real, some years ago I wanted a AM DB7, a dealer I spoke to could not get one but he said why not a Jag, an Aston is only a Jag in a party frock! I settled for something else eventually, thanks for great review as usual.
What an amazing video what a just an awesome experience Bill if you didn't know yourself you would probably love sitting here and just watching this video it's really that good and you might not believe it you might not know it and I Stumble over the words but it's just wonderful I can spend hours and hours and I have watching these videos the joy that have you on RUclips thank God for you
Great review and good luck with the new endeavor. Question: Have you ever reviewed a Dodge Viper? Something tells me that'd be a great video. Also, no mention of whiskey today?
Glad we are not going to lose you Bill. Sad that the Auto Europa Napes is no more. Kind of been expecting the site to be consumed by some kind of a lump of a modern building given all the ones sprouting up around the Auto Europa Napes building. But hey! Roll on Curious Cars.
Hello Bill, the reason the doors swing upward on Aston Martin’s, called “Swan Doors” are to prevent them from hitting or scraping on high curbs. There you go! Love the channel, you’re hilarious. Thank you
Bill, doing one hell of a good job! Nobody touches bill for his honest car reviews. I hope he has his own TV show one day., It would be brilliant!!! 👍👍👍👍🧐🎩
New channel names, Bird watching with Bill, Bill's comedic car reviews, Why I hate things. Good luck Bill, you always make me smile but please be careful because this virus is no joke, wear your mask so we can enjoy your reviews and insightful insights. Congratulations on the new-old job.
Hey Bill, I want to say you are if not surpass Daddy Doug in my opinion. I greatly enjoy your channel and your reviews. If by any chance could you please, please maybe review the Kia Stinger Gt2? I honestly bought one because of Doug. And because of you sir I went out and bought a 1987 Porsche 944 S. My grandpa lives out in Naples in Pelican Bay. When I'm able to go and see him safely I really look forward to come by your dealership! Big cheers sir! 🍻 Keep it up!
Bill, When opened, the Aston Martin doors are intended to provide better body center mass protection during the occasional gunfire exchange with mob boss bodyguards or a slightly annoyed third wife.
Hey Bill, you know what they say, "A change is as good as a Holiday".... Have just subscribed to Autohaus - hope to see you there on channel sometime - look forward to it! Onwards and upwards Bill...!!! "See ya here"!
I have somewhere a magazine from when Ulrich Bez took over at Aston in which he reviewed the company's cars of the past and present, and he set out what he wanted the company to achieve in the future, including what would become the DB9. I remember he commented that the design of the rear of Astons was not very striking, and so he wanted to make the bootlid, taillights etc more visually appealing.
I'm 21 and i've been subbed to this channel since i came across it 3 years ago. Bill is a really funny guy! Funny looking too I heard!.... Just kidding Bill ...keep it up!
Swan doors operate in a similar way to conventional car doors but unlike regular doors, they open at an upward angle. This design helps the doors to clear curbs, especially on lower sports
I just stumbled upon the fact that this is the same property as in the videos from MaryAnn from Autohaus of Naples. You guys have a decent car culture and great Autohauses! Technically speaking isn't a DB9 Volante? In Europe you can buy one of these in decent condition for under 30.000 Euros, which is great value for a relatively reliable V12 Aston Martin sportscar. I love the design and think that it aged rather beautiful.
Yeah, really love that car and the review of it. Whats up with the dangling cables on the right trunk hinge? Also: Does your switch to another venue also mean, that we'll never see Marty and the imbecile detailer again? Love those guys.
Bill, WELCOME BACK !! MILLIONS of us have missed your cars and especially your WIT!!
The channel should be called “Bill’s Banter & the Occasional Car Review ”
He always gets around to it eventually.
T M H I come for the banter and stay for the reviews.
DAMN that's clever
I agree
🤣🤣 Right?!! 💯
I’m a follower since Bill was with Peter at Auto Haus of Naples. Good to see him back.
My God. These reviews are pure internet gold. On two channels? All Bill...all the time?
"Hand-built in England: holy shit, that's terrifying" You're hilarious Bill. Best wishes with your new old gig. Cheers.
isn't my nephew the bees knees! His Uncle Sal & I love him so.

Holy cow, is it good to hear Bill's voice! Glad you are well sir! Hello from the Motor City👍

Good to hear your voice Bill!! Glad to hear you're okay. Best wishes in your new venture!!

Er, did you, er, really come for the car review?

Nice to see you are back, Bill.
I will continue to follow your informative reviews.

Oh man, I'm never unfollowing this channel... don't want to know where in the Star Wars universe my dating life would fit.
Bill needs a Tv show. I will watch it everyday!
Best wishes for the new project. Love the videos. ‘The bar scene from Star Wars’ is priceless.
About the funniest line he's come up with since I've been watching his videos.
Bill you are my absolute FAVORITE automotive channel on RUclips; you crack me up at least ten times a video! You are a national treasure!
I still remember watching your 2001 Jaguar XKR Silverstone review back in 2016. Ever since then I have watched your videos!
This is the one of those rare channels that i always watch from beginning to the end without skiping.

The amazing content seemingly never ends. I’ve recently seen a successive number of Jag videos and now this! Thanks, Bill!
Nice to see you back Mr Bill
I just recently found this channel and have watched at least 100 vids in a week! Don’t go away!!

This Aston is probably the best looking car ever built. It is up there with the E-type and Maserati Gran Turismo
