Bill, thanks for this. I went through that before finding your video. I get those same errors, but now my connector isn’t being recognized by Forscan. Any thoughts?
The relearn PCM is a step that was needed with F150, along with TCM which the Bronco didn't seem to need, but then when the errors were related to AWD it made sense to run that relearn setting as well.
@@EvilleTruck the relearn advice is VERY helpful. It was great with the AWD Relearn and clearing DTCs. However, when I attempt the PCM relearn I get an error message stating Service Procedure Had Been Interrupted. Do you know how to get around that error?
Awesome! Thanks for doing this. Were you able to access anything else on forscan? I want to disable the double honk on my Bronco. Were you able to make other changes?
Going back through your videos I see that you were (are?) an FJ Cruiser owner. I have a 2012 that I have done a LOT of work to for off-roading. I love my FJ and have put 120k miles on it. How do you feel about the Bronco compared to the FJ? My Bronco is coming in soon (hopefully next month) and will be trading in my FJ. I worry about buyers remorse and missing my FJ.
I am not missing the FJ, at least not yet. It is still new and the aftermarket isn't quite there yet for things so it will be hard to build up like the FJ for off road, but its pretty capable as is right from the dealership. Far more electronics and gadgets compared to the FJ which is not necessarily a good thing, I liked how simple the FJ was , and that it just worked. But the kids absolutely hated the suicide doors and climbing in, which meant I ended up driving the wife's car, or my truck more than anything most of the time, so I am much more happy having the Bronco that I can daily drive, and not have to listen to any complaints lol.
@@EvilleTruck Thank you for the response. I have a Badlands on the way so it has more FROM THE FACTORY than I was capable of doing to the FJ. I know I am going to love the Bronco but I have always loved my FJ. That was the first vehicle that fit me perfectly. I am hoping the Bronco does the same!
Bill, I am also getting the process interupted message when I try to relearn the PCM Module. Any ideas as to why. The AWD relearn worked great. I still can't clear the PCM DTC. Thank you Bill.
I am not sure why you wouldn't be able to clear that, do you have the HS /MS switch on your adapter? If so maybe try flipping the switch. Do you have the engine running or just the accessories power on?
@@EvilleTruck Thank you for the quick reply!! No switch. Just the accessories power on. I noticed others that had commented below were having similar issues. I noticed also that there is a PCM relearn in the Services tab as well.
For future, just take your new tires, multiple .968 and it will give you correct mm to put in. As you can tell, it does not calibrate with exact tire mm. Example, Stock black diamonds are LT 265 70 17 or 2520. Multiple by .968 of 2520 is 2440. That is same for factory figures or Works on all Bronco's.
I'm very curious where the .968 number came from. I have had trouble dialing in the speedometer with 37in ko2s and this calculation seemed to work perfectly! Thanks so much for adding the info here! You saved me from just guessing lower numbers. :)
I haven’t, measured diameter which was a bit under 35 like 34.75 , I’ll find a string or something to get exact measurement but it got me close enough to just have to adjust it a couple of times and drive to test and get it dialed in
forscan.org/ yes PC only :( There is IOS and Android version that will work with bluetooth OBDII Reader , but I think they are limited in function compared to PC version.
Circumference of a 35” tire is 2793 mm, but I would look at the actual size of the tire, it could be off by quite a bit. You kept saying 2600, not sure if you mean something else.
@@EvilleTruck I did some quick math and 2440 circumference is a 30.6” wheel exactly. The stock wheel is 31.6” based on the spec sheet for Black Diamond. Maybe their system is off by an inch for some reason!
You are mixing two different measurements. 35 inches is the diameter not the circumference. Multiply by pi to get the circunference. Diameter is width 235mm/25.5, to get inches, X .70 or 65 or 60 to get sidewall height, x 2 and then plu wheel dia. 235r70x18 would be..a 30.9 in diameter tire or 784.86mm. 2600mm is 102.36/3. 1415 is 32.58 dia. Confusd yet ?
Correct it sometimes does say to turn off engine but leave on, for initial reading though it had to be engine on, it only read PCM and like 2 other modules initially with it just in on position.
IF Ford could prove that the changes you made caused something to break, then yes, that particular part could be denied. Your local Ford service department is going to go looking to see if you re calibrated your speedometer though or even think to
The last four minutes about relearn were GOLD! Thank you
Thx Bill. This was very helpful. Fixed my problem with the AWD error. Much appreciated and you have the best video on this resolution out there.
Great to hear!
I appreciate you doing this tomorrow
Thank you! I got a Powertrain warning light, so when I relearned the PCM it did the trick. Thanks a bunch.
Glad it helped
