@@mj2005gundam what I mean is designing it how current RG's are designed. While the old RG's was inovative at the time...every RG kit before the RG Unicorn need to be updated to current standards. I will check out your review on the GCP version.
Just started gunpla a month ago and fell in love with Freedom. Have the HG, RG, MG And MGSD. Waiting to get more practice so I can really show them some love after getting better at decals/stickers and learn panel lining
I ended up getting the GCP one because of your timely review so thanks! One of my favorite looking kits is the MG freedom 2.0 and wanted a mini but wasn't a fan of the old RG or HG.
It just so happened that the announcement dropped as I was editing the review of the GCP version. Despite that, I was willing to give the normal version right here a chance to prove itself, and prove itself it did, prove that it's nothing but a nightmare to handle for a review, and that it'd be fine only for a straight build, pose once, and leave it situation
I was thinking of getting an rg kit, and i might get this one as my first. I've mainly been building hgs and mgs and wanted to try rg kits, but i will admit the horror stories ive heard and seen with pictures of real grade kits basically crumbling in their hands have deterred me from buying one
You're welcome, glad you found it helpful. However, the RG Freedom and RG GP01 aren't indicative of what RG kits are like today, so if you are to try the line out, get some of the newer ones
I used to once complain that only the "golden boys" like SEED get a lot of love. Now in hindsight, I guess it is all fine and dandy as the "golden boys" were the first to take all the hits and suffering; which are then corrected in later releases which I never thought will finally get some love like the God Gundam or Wing TV ver. Heck, the Sinanju is probably what made Bandai realize they can't keep on using the pre-made frames forever, thus resulting in the sturdier Unicorn Gundam; and all other subsequent RG releases being sturdier than their predecessors. 😜 It may be too soon, but I guess if Bandai were to keep upping their RG game, we might soon get a ZZ, Victory, and V2 (the latter two of which may be even sturdier than their MG counterparts). But what I'd really want to see in RG form are the Gundam X and Double X.
I genuinely hope your kit speculations would come true, but I won't deny that the golden boys took the fall for the better of their successors. Imagine if they didn't change anything and continued to release RGs as is, those like the RG Hi-Nu and RG God would be way worse.
I haven't played around with my RG Freedom in a long time. I do recall his build being a bit of a faff, namely the backpack. Granted that may have been cos he was one of the earliest kits i bought.
Would it work if I added nail polish to fix the lose wing joints? Also, Kira rarely used the beam sabers in the double halbert mode. Only time I saw that was when Freedom finished off the Providence (GOOD RIDDANCE!)
Just finished building this kit and for the most part I found it really enjoyable to build. The wings kind of sucked and I can see how over time it would get floppy but I honestly enjoyed it more than I thought I would.
I shared this opinion initially, but after handling it for the review, there's just nothing left to redeem it. Moral of the story is, this is a kit that you build, pose once, and never touch again until absolutely necessary
So happy the GCP version came out. Thanks to that review you did I jumped on it the moment it was on P-Bandai last week! Seeing this old RG, I really do hope more get a similar treatment the GCP one did
I do plan to get the Aerial, in fact I've already preordered it from a store, so look forward to that review when it arrives in October. P.S. Is your internet wonky? Your comment got duplicated
@@mj2005gundam My internet should be fine, I do see that happen to people a lot on RUclips though, I don’t know if it’s the commenter’s internet or crappy servers.
After seeing dozens of reviews of this kit, I realized the main problem is the loose parts, but I still chose this kit because this version of the kit is very similar to the anime than the gcp ver. I also like rg strike freedom but its too expensive for me,and I only buy Gundams that I like in the anime.👍👍
Yes it has the visual appeal, and you can certainly go for it if you don't ever intend to pose it at all. It's just way too frustrating for my liking because it's too involved for its own good
I really thought the winglet issues my RG Freedom have is just because I built it wrong. This is probably my least favorite RG because of the weakness of the kit, even after some fix.
Yeah, I concur... Like I said, I didn't even have anything as frustrating as that with the RG Justice. Yes, it's a newer RG, but it's mechanically simpler than the RG Freedom. Thank god we now have the GCP version to take over as a superior variant
@@mj2005gundam At the very least RG Justice has a stand for the Fatum. And also unlike Strike Freedom, you can't tuck the wings on the ankle armors to make standing poses a little sturdier
I'm not gonna buy the old rg. as other people said, "it just for display only". but it is really hard if the kit that you want to display is struggling to stand on itself. I bought 2 rg sinanju. TWO! the waist connector break to easily and I already gentle with it. so, in short I don't like old rg even for display. right now I'm liking the new rg that is easily to handle and it won't fight with you for just displaying it on a shelf.
Started gunpla recently in really love the freedom so I've gotten everyone I can, but when RG showed up mailman punched it into mailbox. Complain to Amazon so they're sending me another one and I can keep this one, got a practice dummy for my first real grade
This is one of my favorite designs for a gundam. If Bandai was to ever do a 2.0 for the RG this is one should be on the list.
Which, they did in a way with the GCP version. I've reviewed that kit as well, so you should check it out

We've got the RG 2.0 today 🤣
Love the use of “mullet”, I’m gonna have to start using that
Well, credit goes to the person who used "mullet" on the RG Hi-Nu in my comments, so I can't take all the credit

Yeah, I hope so too.. They could've done it with the GBR kits, but nah. Who knows when the next opportunity will arise?
what kind of decals and how do you apply them?
Sticker decals, applied with tweezers and precision
Whenever the freedom gundam does its full burst attack it makes me think of the original 1974 mechagodzilla’s all out attack for some reason

how do you connect the body to the waist help me please

To fix lose ass parts use nail glue on the lose parts before putting it in the joint as it makes it moveable and tight

how did you make it so nasty with all that dirt
