Chinatown born and raised! My parents used to have a cellphone store on 1 Allen St and 388 Cafe was just a few doors down from my grandma's apartment. They fed me all through elementary school days. What a throwback. Great video, super nostalgic and you guys hit up some of the classics!

Growing up in restaurant business we worked 7 days a week for 12 hours a day and we barely made our rent for years putting out quality food. It took 10 years B4 we saved enuff to buy our building and finally start making a profit. In those 10 years we only raised our prices twice in fear it wud deter business. This was back in the 80s so real estate prices were way lower than now. All this to say, buy local, support family owned business especially now as families struggle to recoup from COVID loss whether it's ur local Bao place, taqueria or halal cart.
Asian must unite an let all the people know we are here and be here for ever. Be strong and look after each other. The only way to make change is for Asian to change. Get involved let your voice be heard.!!!!!!!!! Keep the the good work Fung Bros :)

Use some kind of gimbal with the camera cause sometimes the transitions or walking scenes are to fast and shakey and could make people get dizzy. My father did! Keep up the good work! Jiayou!!

This series should be continued! I would like to recommend S wan cafe which is also on Eldridge st, very famous for their Hong style milk tea and their authentic Hong style food. Carol’s bun also in Chinatown has very authentic Cantonese style food. There’s also Morning glory bakery in Rego Park with freshly made Hong style bread and baked goods! 😊❤️

Hey guys, it's amazing that you are doing this for Chinatown NYC! just one tiny thing, that's a piece of napoleon cake at Hong Bakery On Mott Street, not a Neapolitan cake. Napoleon cakes in general are super popular in China and you can find some of the best Napoleon cakes (Chinese versions) at some of the most traditional bakeries Beijing or Shanghai (Daoxiangcun in Beijing for example).
Never been to NY or even USA, but always loved the way you experience the food of the world and bring it to the world. So many countries and cities i wanna visit but not possible atm. Love the asian cousine but my city just offer the westerniesed version and not what i'm looking for so can't wait to travel and experience the real stuff i've only been able to dream about. The nyonya in 8th Ave brooklyn with the rude aunties was my spot until they maybe changed ownership, renovated the restaurant and replaced all the aunties. It was never the same 😩 havent been back since. 😩
Love this series. One thing, though. The cookies at 31:47 aren't macaroons, they're macarons. Very different. Macaroons are taller round baked meringues with toasted coconut on top. Macaron are the round cookies that are meringue, usually with almond flour, and have filling between two layers of the meringue cookie.
I miss cooking at home. I’m not sure if I cooked my-rice consistently but I know for sure I didn’t need any other meats. My-rice was good enough on its own. My Korea manager used to cook kimchi fried rice with jalapenos; we worked at a mall making fresh hot fries and grilled subs. I like that fried rice that you won’t need any side meats or sides in general. Thai fried rice is pretty hearty. I like my-rice with a lot of vegetables and meat. I guess home cooking isn’t comparable to outside restaurant eating.

There are also two Prince Tea Houses in Brooklyn on 7th Avenue 62nd Street Sunset Park Chinatown and 21st Avenue 86th Street in the new Brooklyn Chinatown of Bensonhurst. You need to do a video tour of 86th Street Bensonhurst from 18th to 25th Avenues, a lot of cool stores, there are a lot of Chinese businesses including a poke bowl, Moge Tea, Tous Les Jour , Mr. Bun(selling Shanghainese food), Yun Nan Noodle Crossing restaurant, Tiger Sugar, and a lot of Cantonese favorites as Bensonhurst's Chinatown is mainly Cantonese including Fu Yuan Noodles, and modernized Hong Kong style cafes like HK Sushi & Tea, and Kowloon Cafe, which they have Hong Kong style toasts. 86th Street is also very culturally diverse even though there are a lot of Chinese residents and businesses containing what the other NYC Chinatowns have, which is what 86th Street in Bensonhurst very unique.
I get most these dishes for 1.50 to 2.00 in Malaysia. Plus theres bihun and char keoy teow. Char siew and rice is 1.50. My wife is Chinese Malaysian lol

Noodle Village also happens to have some of the best XLB in Chinatown...ugh sad that they only tried their jooks! Go back for Noodle Village's soup dumplings!

There are also two Prince Tea Houses in Brooklyn on 7th Avenue 62nd Street Sunset Park Chinatown and 21st Avenue 86th Street in the new Brooklyn Chinatown of Bensonhurst. You need to do a video tour of 86th Street Bensonhurst from 18th to 25th Avenues, a lot of cool stores, there are a lot of Chinese businesses including a poke bowl, Moge Tea, Tous Les Jour , Mr. Bun(selling Shanghainese food), Yun Nan Noodle Crossing restaurant, Tiger Sugar, and a lot of Cantonese favorites as Bensonhurst's Chinatown is mainly Cantonese including Fu Yuan Noodles, and modernized Hong Kong style cafes like HK Sushi & Tea, and Kowloon Cafe, which they have Hong Kong style toasts. 86th Street is also very culturally diverse even though there are a lot of Chinese residents and businesses containing what the other NYC Chinatowns have, which is what 86th Street in Bensonhurst very unique.
