  • Monday’s clean-up was unreal!
Without volunteers, sponsors near and far, and local businesses that provided equiptment and labor, this would not have been possible!
A special Thanks goes to the events sponsors, Tread Lightly! And Overland Expo foundation.
    Vital Equiptment and operators:
    Kirby Nagelhout Construction
    Arbor 1 Tree Service
    WT Equiptment Rentals
    ‪@PrimalOutdoors‬
    ‪@EarthCruiserOverlandVehicles‬
    Sponsors:
    Boneyard Beer
    Miller Lumber
    Les Schwab Tire Centers
    Technique Vehicle Outfitters
    oregonadventuretrucks
    ‪@RuggedRadios‬
Many people put in over 20hrs of hard work over two days to complete this undertaking. It was hot and dusty. Everyone was smiling! Thank you car crew, you moved a mountain!!!
    Stats thus far:
    Vehicles- 96k+ lbs
    Dump runs- 10k+ lbs
    Tires/Hazmat- 1700 lbs
Debris containers- ??? (Info coming soon)
Thank You Central Oregon and beyond. We are starting to see a difference in the China Hat area.
Our next event is September 24th. Please put in your calendars, it National Public Lands Day!

It was very rewarding and I plan to do it again. The OHV staging area was closed to public for a good part of the summer due to using it as a base for fires near Yosemite.

People truly are the worst inhabitants on planet earth. I hope they can sell scrap (and vehicles) to help offset the cost of keeping these areas beautiful and free for use. I'm not going to hazard a guess on how much you guys collected to throw away but I'll be horrified at the final tally. I humbly thank you and all the others that paid in one manner or another to undertake this daunting task. I enjoy seeing a video up to find what you're up to next. Stay safe and GOD bless

My group cleaned the trash off that silver Corolla. Best we could figure, there was another car at the next site over that might have been that black Taurus. We grabbed the safety glass and a few parts left over from a car that was removed by something with tracks.
Edited to add: someone in our area stopped us to tell us their vehicle was disabled and we were free to haul it away... the cars were adding up even as we cleaned!

A friend of mine here in California has 3 of those 6x6 X military wreckers/crane trucks. They are awesome off road when big mussel is needed. And he uses them in winter for yanking big rigs out of snow banks. When others are rigging to wench a big rig out. He hooks with a really big strap and yanks then out and back onto the road. His scene is cleared and on to the next while others are still fighting wenching from snow banks. He has used them for off road airplane crash recoveries those 6x6 trucks are big brutes and are a great tool to have

Great job by you and all of the volunteers cleaning up the forest and hopefully it doesn't get littered up again so quickly. Unfortunately as you pointed out in this video there are a lot of people who are contracted to do clean ups on a property and will charge a person for a landfill and intentionally dump the mess into a national forrest to increase their profits and rather than pay for the landfill charges.
You definitely need one of those heavy tow rigs with the skills you already have you could increase your capacities for off road recoveries and add some great RUclips content. 👍

The number of abandoned vehicles is crazy. Looks like some of them were used for target practice. Wouldn't a can or paper target be easier to get out there? 🤔

It is beyond a crying shame how people trash the landscape. The fact that everyone else has to expend time, money, and resources to do this is sad. I've been on many clean-ups on land and water, as well as other kinds of habitat events, and I'm not sure we are winning? The people that show up for these clean-ups, are not the ones that should be cleaning it up ... but enforcement is just so difficult. That was a tremendous effort by all who participated. Heros come in many forms, and you guys and gals are one of them. Take care. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

It seems like it would have been a lot more efficient to bring in (if available!) a shredding machine and roll off containers to shred those vehicles and put the shredded material into the containers for carting out. The next biggest problem (and possibly insurmountable) is oil and other fluids coming from the shredded engines, axles etc. Maybe bring up the idea to the organizers?

Amazing. Forgive the question, but is it the same or a different area from earlier this year with the cleanout? Regardless, awesome to see all of the people and companies giving back to the area. Still amazed at how many "vehicles" were pulled out. Kudos to everyone involved in the cleanup.

@@CaseyLaDelle @William Lloyd - thanks for clarifying. was unsure as the final staging area appears to be the same as that earlier video. I didnt spend as much time in the backwoods on that side of the cascades as I did on my side (Roseburg). Except for the Richardson Ranch /Priday agates near Madras. Lots of summers there. I love watching your videos so I can see new areas that I want to go wander around in. Again, major kudos to everyone helping "Keep Oregon Green" (my little throw back to the 70's). Now if only people would remember the old mantra of "pack it in, pack it out" you guys would not have to hold these events.
