    While I feel knives from Outdoor Edge like the Razor Fin & Razor Blaze are knives specifically for say a fishermen or a hunter, the RazorLite EDC to me, is a knife for everyone. So much so that I am officially retiring my long standing recommendation for the Gerber EAB to fill this type of roll in an EDC Utility Blade. Long term listeners to my podcast will realize that is a big deal, I have been recommending the Gerber since at least 2012. Long before TspAz reviews even existed.

    Bought one of these a few years ago and tossed it into my hunting backpack as a backup. Never used it until this year. Circumstances dictated that I use this knife as no other was available. I skinned and field quarter my elk this year with this knife. I'm never going to use anything else but these knives in future hunting. Sure, I'll still carry my Buck 301 Stockman as my EDC pocket knife (enjoy the nostalgia of the many years of carrying a Buck Stockman). However, a razor, surgical grade blade for my hunting use will now be the standard. Will carry a few of these (with extra blades) in my hunting backpack from now on. And you're right, a few passes over a field steel will bring this blade back to surgical sharp performance (although I did my whole elk, with one blade, in the field without doing so). Thanks for the video.

    I can officially say that I'll never go to another edc. I love knowing I have a surgically sharp blade after 10 seconds of popping on a new blade. This and the Havalon which offers the same feature are my two favorite edc.

      Agreed. Mine has replaced a knife I EDC'ed for over 7 years.

    I would suggest getting the orange handled version in case you drop it...easier to find.

    Late to the review but thank you. I got 2 of these at Lowe’s for literally 2 cents each. What a deal

    Glad they went to a metal clip over the older polymer one. A deep carry clip would be better, but still my go-to.

    The one complaint I have about this knife is that the hinge is at the bottom when clipped in your pocket. So if the spring ever gets weak then I could imagine cutting my finger if it opened a little. That hasn’t happened yet but it’s just always made me conscious that the blade is pointed up at me in my pocket.
    Otherwise, I love this knife. It’s my edc knife for day to day stuff. I lost one and bought another. I’ve carried it for over 2 years now

    They have a gutting blade that can be used with the 3.5 too.

    I use the Havalon Piranta. Little different style but same concept. Mine also has bone saw blades. I use mine for harvesting micro greens and lettuce... Etc

    how am i going to save any money for a long awaited trip if i keep seeing all these great products?? any way those 2 knives look like they would be a good fixture to have in the skinning shed!!

    • @survivalpodcasting
      @survivalpodcasting  3 года назад +1

      Yes and no, in that if you were going to keep them in one place, not carry them around. Both frames can take either blade. So if you keep them in a kit in a shed you really only need one frame an a place to store extra blade. Blade swapping takes literally seconds.

    So, did you get the 3.5" or the 3"? I wonder what the difference means in every day use?

    • @survivalpodcasting
      @survivalpodcasting  3 года назад +1

      Um as I said this is the 3.5, since I own other Outdoor Edge Knives that use that size blade. I see little real need for a smaller knife the 3.5 is perfect. But if a person only wanted one of these perhaps they'd like the slightly more compact size.
