Not sure why everyone thinks Haytham let Connor kill him. Haytham displayed his malicious intent throughout the game, and he didn't have any regard or empathy towards his son in the slightest (since they never developed a genuine bond).
They only worked together because it assisted Haytham in his goal.

    • @kevinofthestone7584
      @kevinofthestone7584 2 года назад +70

Haytham forced Connor into a position where Connor had no choice but to kill him to survive. Based on Haytham’s journal (the canon novel Assassin’s Creed: Forsaken), Haytham deliberately did this because he could not bring himself to kill Connor but knew that one of them had to kill the other. He willed the journal Connor so that Connor would understand his own journey through life regardless of what either of them felt about the other.
After reading the journal, Connor added his own entry where he apologized to Haytham. If you go into the Davenport Manor’s basement after Haytham’s death, Connor has written “sakataterihwáhten” beneath Haytham’s portrait, which translates to “I made a mistake.”

I agree, we never got to see Edward in his prime, he was able to wipe out the Templar order in the West Indies as well as kill multiple assassins, including a master assassin, without any training. Seeing as he eventually became a master assassin and co-mentor of the British assassins, I can only imagine how powerful he became once he properly trained under the assassins and unlocked his full potential.

    • @STSGuitar16
      @STSGuitar16 2 года назад +31

@@shaneellis1056 Yeah, I mean i understand Connor’s animalistic strength being a big kicker towards him being very powerful and deadly, but Haytham never did anything at all that made me see him as the most powerful kenway. He was just highly trained, but there was nothing special about him imo. I guess if the question was which Kenway had the most/best training then it’d definitely be Haytham, but in terms of most powerful or deadliest I would honestly put him last. Like I said, Connor had that raw power that eventually got more refined, and the fact that he was raised in a native tribe gives him a much bigger edge over Haytham imo. Strong animalistic warrior instinct can’t be trained into someone and Connor just had it, so I’d put him over Haytham and second to Edward. Idk, I just see Haytham as being a normal man who just had a lot of training with nothing really special about him. That may be an unpopular opinion here, but I believe it’s true.
      My ranking is:
      1. Edward
      2. Connor
      3. Haytham
And out of all the AC main characters, Edward is probably the one who I’d want to see have a sequel the most. Imagine how cool it would be seeing master assassin Edward running around Europe.

I honestly don’t understand how someone could have Haytham as the deadliest. What aspect about him makes you see how he could be ranked first? To me, there wasn’t anything special about him like Edward and Connor had (Edward was destroying high level Templars and assassins with no training whatsoever, and Connor had a ton of animalistic power and instinct that can’t really be taught). Haytham was like any ordinary man who just had a lot of training, and that’s about all he has going for him. I actually put him third in my ranking because of the reasons I listed above. I’ve got Edward first and Connor second.

Edward is also capable of equipping himself with other armors including Mayan plate armor which would probably be hard for swords to get through. Given Edward easily defeated an assassin while he had little more than a sword, I think he'd defeat Haytham or Connor quite soundly. Haytham may have formal training and Connor might have brute streetfighting skills, but Edward is more than capable of keeping up with both of those.

It's important to note that Connor was hit by a cannon ball and left weakend before his fight with Haytham. He's so hurt, he literally drags himself to the scene of the fight, where Haytham meets him in perfect health. And contrary to popular belief, Haytham didn't let connor win. He got caught up with his speech (as he usually does) trying to prove his own version of the greater good to Connor, and got more and more heated and cocky as he was strangling him. Connor just waited for an opportunity to strike when Haytham's guard was down. Haytham was arrogant. Even Edward Braddock told him that arrogance would eventually be the end of him.
The game does a good job of displaying it's characters and their development. NO DOUBT Haytam is more skilled than Connor. He has way more experience. Even Achilles says so. But it's Haytham's arrogance that kills him in the end. And it's cool character development as he's way more arrogant towards the end than before Connor is born. You can see it when he orders Connor around, not explaining to him why he needs to do certain things. He simply say "Because I said so" and has this expression on his face where he clearly doesn't understand why he's even being questioned. Haytham is brilliantly written. He is skilled and deadly, but arrogant. He makes good points and actually started to see the world for what it truly is. But he got blindend by this newfound knowledge and now kind of overrates himself as someone who knows everything there is while he's completely lacking in the "human element". Connor is the polar opposite of this. Childish naivity, idealism, and a kind heart(which often times is his downfall). He lacks some serious insight into the world which cant be said of Haytham. One thing they BOTH have in common though is that they have an unshakeable determination to fight for what they believe to be true. To the end. Templars and Assassins. Perfectly represented.

    • @SaeedMohammed-ce9hm
      @SaeedMohammed-ce9hm 8 месяцев назад +4

I disagree. Haytham had literally saved Connor from execution by throwing a knife to severe the rope. Achilles's men tried, but they couldn't fully severe the rope. It was Haytham who did so. Haytham even wrote in his journal what seemed like the words of a man who knew he was about to die. Besides, he's smart. He's not the type of person to release an Assassin's hand like that, especially when he himself uses the hidden blade. Most of the AC community has also accepted the book "Forsaken" as part of the story, and that book reinforces the fact Haytham left Connor win. In the end, Haytham died fighting for the Templars like a true Templar should, and he died to let his son win like a true father would.

Haytham is no different than Altaïr, he is a cold blooded killer that make his mission prevail, would it be the creed of the assassin's or the rules of the templars.
Remember how Altaïr was clearing any loose end after his interrogations ? This is exactly because assassins started to bring morality into their sacred missions that many fled their rank to become templars or pursue more neutral goals.
As Haytham said, Assassin's used to fight for peace, not vague concept such as freedom.

Overall, I would put my vote on Haytham being the Deadliest Kenway. We've seen in both Assassin's Creed 3 and in Rogue that he will not let anyone get in his way to achieve his goals. Also, the moment you are proven to be completely useless to him after an interrogation, you are dead cause he does not like leaving loose ends unless he is given very good reason to keep you alive. But he'll make sure that you will not forget.
Haytham also doesn't let his ego get the better of him and always tries to make decisions that is best for the Templars and not for himself. This also makes him very dangerous because he doesn't let his pride get in the way of doing what he knows and feels is the best option.
That being said, Haytham's only real weakness was his sense of honor and loyalty to Family. He paused his own expeditions at one point to put everything into saving his Older Sister and made sure that she was well taken care of after despite their estrangement and distance. Even after he had a falling out with Zio, he did his best to make sure that she and her people were safe, but as we know he couldn't protect her from everything. And then there's Conner. He saved Conner at the last minute during Connor's execution. He almost a year with Connor trying everything to convince his son that the Templars are correct. And at their final confrontation, he again couldn't let his son die and gave him the opening to let Connor kill him (This is my head cannon anyways cause I know that there are other viewpoints that contradict this.) And as a final gesture, he has his personal journal sent to Connor so that Connor would have a much better understanding of who his father was and also Haytham's way of upholding a virtue to never lie to his Son. A virtue that Edward did for Haytham. And when you think about it, Haytham never did lie to Connor. Held back some information from Connor until he felt the time was right, yes. But Haytham never lied to Connor.

I think haythem is probably the best pick. Connor is very versatile in his skill set but not as honed as Edward or haythem. And Edward being able to take on trained assassins with two years experience as a pirate definitely scores him big points but he also isn’t as skilled as haythem is. It’s sad that all their stories weren’t really expanded on but honestly I hope we get another game with Connor where he discovers more of his grandfather (because that would simply be awesome) and maybe that would lead to him expanding on the work edward has already done. I think it would be cool as long as it wasn’t a copy and paste rpg like the last 3 games have been.

I think Conner is the deadliest Kenway. Conner destroyed the Templars in Colonial America almost all by his lonesome. Killed most of the Templars himself. Even killed Haytham (even if Haytham may or may not of let Conner win) when he had been repeatedly thrown around and into walls when a cannon destroyed the surrounding area he was standing in. Then he also chased down Charles Lee in his final confrontation with the Templars after he had run through a burning boat and stabbed in the stomach. Leaving a full hole in his stomach. Conner may not be the smartest and the most naive. But for what he lacks in smarts, he makes up for skill, strength, and determination. He is a goddamn tank when it comes to any other assassin.

I actually agree with this. I think Edward would lose to both Haythem and Connor in close combat but would put up one hell of a fight. But I do think he'd easily win if Ships were involved. He was already an experienced helmsman before the start of AC Black Flag, whereas Haythem, I don't think, had much, if not any experience commanding a ship as in both AC 3 and AC Rogue others are commanding the ship. Connor has experience but not to the degree that Edward does.
I'd also like to say that I think Edward could perhaps win in close combat if it were onboard a ship with his experience on boardings and would use the ship as an advantage.
But I do think if Haythem either was Connor's father and was just some random Templar, he'd easily take down Connor.

Unfortunately, the Aquila is a superior ship than the Jackdaw. The Aquila has more advanced technology, has more cannons, faster and durability than the Jackdaw. The Aquila has several types of shots the Jackdaw does not possess. The jackdaw only has back exploding barrels and front chain shot, while the Aquila only has side cannons. But what quantity the Aquila lacks makes up for quality. The aquila has side chain shot cannons which allows for the disabling of ship sails more readily than the Jackdaw which is only the front cannon. Bearing in mind, with the Aquila, you can actually one shot a Man o War. The Aquila also has heat shot much like the Jackdaw. The aquila also has grapeshot which disables the opposing ship's cannon fire, which the Jackdaw does not possess. Not to mention, Connor is much more experienced than you think. During the time in AC3, he would frequently venture with the Aquila from 1769 - 1781-3. That's about 12-14 years of experience there. During Edward's time with sailing around AC4, he actually has less experience from comparing his time at the end of the game to his life as a privateer (around 11-12 years) of experience. However, during his time in Black flag, Edward has actually ventured more than Connor has, so I would agree that Edward would have more experience. The Jackdaw has went through legendary Man O wars such as El impoluto as well. If the Jackdaw and Aquila battle it out, Edward would have to trick Connor so he can get a few good hits in. Otherwise, the Aquila with its superior technology would blast it into oblivion.

@@k0ana889 while the logic here makes some sense I think we are forgetting the fact a certain someone owns a fleet
as for and quote "During the time in AC3, he would frequently venture with the Aquila from 1769 - 1781-3. That's about 12-14 years of experience there." how often was it compared to Edward? how often was he on that ship in comparison? Edward was traveling island to island, fort to fort. from what I know Connor used the ship for transportation and combat skirmishes far less despite having a longer time over all spent over years in which he sailed but the longer time does not entirely mean he has actively participating all the time or as often to total time spent. we know the time period in which he sailed but not his total time sailing to count for total experience, with some logical reasoning it can be argued that Edward has had and been at helm more time spend total over a shorter period of time.
also aren't we forgetting the fact the jackdaw has mortars which out range the Aquila, a ram which use may vary and the fact the broadside guns train on target and over waves if angled while Aquila has all cannons fire straight which if we are talking a man o' war's broadside in clam seas, yes that would all hit and do big dmg but the jackdaw is both smaller and still maneuverable facing straight towards or away mean less shots land.
no ship at the time had top deck armor (ignore the jackdaws topdeck armor) a mortar coming from above is perfect for punching into a ship, hitting the mast and sails is a bonus
Pirate tactics were to out sail their opponents and with fire barrels and mortars the jackdaw can do dmg the Aquila out of their range and worst case for Edwards delay the Aquila not to mention the Aquila would not be faster as it is both bigger and as you said more durable and armed which = Slow (think of that tank design triangle and having to balance out speed, armor and firepower)
to get any movement with a bigger ship that is both armored and heavily armed you need the right size sails to catch more wind the bigger the ship is in order to move the ship's weight and the less weight on board especially say by weapons and armor the faster the ship can sail with fair winds. a wooden ship in 17xx would not be practically able to have a wooden ship be fast enough as a brig or schooner while being big enough to accommodate the extra armaments, armor, crew, ammo and resources, light enough while having strong armor which ties in with it's speeds which also is impeded by the weight of the armaments.
Also where did get the info Aquila is faster? it's a frigate with 60 cannons
The Jackdaw is a stolen brigantine, due to it's 46 gun armament if in IRL would be classified as a frigate by the standard classification of the Royal Navy. in essence tho it classifies more as a modified brig due to being smaller than a frigate shape and size wise resembling a brigantine more so and if we take the 2 ships fully armed the jackdaw is indeed faster than the Aquila thanks to it's size.
plus if we take the effectiveness of the crews like whoever is on the jackdaw that has the math skills to aim the mortars in a lead in front of a moving target while calculating angle and elevation + distance while correcting for the fact that waves would be throwing off calculations along with the ship they are on is moving. (in short whoever is on the jackdaw working the mortars is doing all the maths and working with every variable against them).
The Aquila is superior in terms of armor and fire power thanks to the number of cannons + those armaments having access to flexible ammo
The Jackdaw is superior in versatility, utility, speed and range.

@@Nelson-fg1xz Did you read what I wrote here? I said although Connor has had the Aquila for longer I said in the next sentence "However, during his time in Black flag, Edward has actually ventured more than Connor has, so I would agree that Edward would have more experience". I literally said that Edward uses the Jackdaw more, hence having more experience, despite Connor sailing for a longer period, Edward was consistently doing so during Black flag. Please read it again.
I did actually forget about the Mortars, it glossed over my mind, but yeah, the range of the mortars would be pretty devastating. But the context of which I was talking about the Aquila vs Jackdaw, was merely based off the Aquila's firepower + superior technology + durability in an all out clash. Many ships in AC4 tanked mortar shots from the Jackdaw. It won't be surprising if Connor just went straight for the Jackdaw and fired chain shots to disable the ship flags. If we're looking at possibilities for winning, the Aquila would almost certainly win in most scenarios. Considering the fact that you brought the mortar argument, if the Jackdaw manages to maintain its distance from the Aquila, the Jackdaw would have a shot at winning. The Aquila itself has dealt with smaller and faster ships than Jackdaw, I so no reason why the Aquila would miss most of its shots. To me that just sounds exactly like plot armor. But, yes I do agree that the Jackdaw is more maneuverable due to its smaller size. Connor is a very good captain after all. Just because we don't see him much in main missions doing ship missions, his side missions demonstrate that he's excellent as his job.
Yeah, I based off the Aquila's speeds due to statements from Faulkner "ghost of the north seas" and etc... Though, it should be obvious that the Jackdaw is faster, due to its size mainly. To be honest, we don't know who's faster, Man o Wars such as El impoluto was massively faster than the Jackdaw. So, realistically, size shouldn't be a determining factor. But, logically, the Jackdaw should be faster.
In versatility, and utility the Aquila is much more superior than the Jackdaw. Like I stated above, the Aquila has many shots that can disable the Jackdaw, by shooting down its masses and grape shot to disable its crew. It's more adapted to situations than the Jackdaw. It literally one shot a Man O war. Its superior technology is something to not be messed with.

@@k0ana889 counter point, the man o war in ac3 is less of a threat than in ac4 as it lacks mortars followed by the fact that a frigate can be disabled/crippled by 4-5 mortar shots.
the man o war in ac3 vs the ones in black flag are indeed differently equipped. the aquila would be slower to turn and avoid ac4 mortars along with the fact as a frigate it is an easier target to hit and land more hits on. an ac4 man o war even the weakest variant can predict and lead it's mortar shots and has range even greater than the jackdaws mortars.
the jackdaw has always faced foes bigger and smaller than it along with a wide Varity, can the aquila say the same? (and not yes but one at a time after years, I mean often and frequently with them being in numbers)
in ac4 man o wars come in 4 varients, level 36. level 49, level 60 bounty hunter ships and level 75 legendary ships. Something tells me that the man o war the aquila can one shot are either level 36 or level 49.
another draw back to the aquila is the time to fire, the jackdaw can fire immediately and does not necessarily need to take as much time to aim followed by the fact it's reload is superior = higher dps. a bunch of cannons trained onto a big target vs a big target with alot of guns trained onto a smaller target with the hp of a level 60 Man o war.
smaller and faster means less shots land. and if it comes to a ram from either front or back then it can slow the aquila via it's chain shot then do one heck of a combo, also how consistly can you 1 shot a man o war? The jackdaw has proven to very do consistent dmg even vs frigates while utilizing its speed and manuvability to out maneuver, avoid and reduce incoming fire.
Mortar, chain, ram, heavy shot, fire barrel then swivels, may seem like a lot but all that can be done in a short time and quite frankly not many ships outside legendary can tank a combo like that alone, even level 60 man o wars will be hurting by the end.
chain shots slow even ship turning at least in ac4 which can also prevent the aquila from both escaping and turning guns.
how I dealt with man o wars like hms prince and la dama negra legendary ships was chain shot the rear, ram, half sail broadside then turn back to chain shot and repeat, staying behind them even if they could still fire back, I was doing more dmg to them then what was dealt to me, this works with frigates as well but harder with smaller faster ships
swivels on the aquila take more time to fire and can't fire as fast as the jackdaws. good range tho
grape shot works by killing the crew, the dmg is little and you have a better chance at using round shot to out dps ur foe than pepper them. if we ignore the irl logic like bracing to avoid crew losses which would delay firing but not the loaded shot and the fact grape shot from a frigate to a man o war would not stop the broadside guns nearly as effectively and focus purely on game function as it just resets the reload then yes delaying gun fire would effective... the problem is the jackdaw reloads and readies shot very fast. if we did the math on dps if both ships are side by side and static, the aquila could reset every other reload from the jackdaw, doing little dmg to the jackdaw while the jackdaw can fire round shot in return assuming we ignore heavy shots.
the unique ammos for the aquila are nice but it is folly to rely on them in this comparason. do tell me, does the aquila have chase cannons? or rear facing cannons? fire barrels or burning oil? last I checked no, it is also is affected by wind more in both a helpful and hindering sense, as wind can help it one shot a man o war with the ram or do negligible dmg where as the jackdaw can ram with or against the wind just as effectively esspecailly with the charge ram ability but thats assuming we are taking game mechanics wise. wind can give it good speed or slow it down. jackdaw can use it's momentum better and won't get blown over and be forced into half sail unless it's a water spout
if we were being realistic, a frigate's ram would be slow and avoidable to the jackdaw but would hurt if enough speed is there to back it up also in thanks to the mass and wind. the jack daw is a reasonble size to have a ram and the manuverbailty and speed to use it more effectively.
also can I say the ships in ac3 lack any amount of metal armor? (aside from aquila and jackdaw) the jack daw has dealt with more foes that can out maneuver them, over power them, out range them, out gunned, out numbered them with varying varieties, out tank them and benefit way more from a trade of blows more so then the aquila has ever faced. (not saying the aquila has never been out numbered and out gunned but the disparity between the to ships and the degree they have faced in vast)
the aquila has iron hull upgrade yes but not top deck and mast upgrade even if we assume it does somehow contribute I'd say the shots for mortars alone is 5-7 and thats assuming it is a equal to or better armor than the max level bounty hunter frigate in ac4. and note the amount if mortars the jackdaw has is enough to sink it 4-5 times depending if we allow the iron hull armor to count and add to the top deck and mast protection. idk bout the aquila but when the jackdaw gets a hull upgrade top deck and mast also get armor.
even if the jackdaw charges straight towards the aquila, most guns will miss as all guns on the ship aim straight where as the jackdaw can shoot chain shot and ram.
also if we are talking game mechanics then the aquila would need more lead on the chain shot as it is slow and short ranged and the jackdaw would have nealy all the time in the world to brace lest you fire from point blank but at that point the jack daw can just fire everything at ya. and continuing on with game mechanics the brace option benifits the jackdaw more so than the aquila, as the jack daw need only watch for burst dmg while the aquila will be facing more sustained dmg (in burst but still but more frequently) and if we want to be realistic about it the jackdaw can still out dps the aquila in sustaining it's fire as it has more resource to do so

@@Nelson-fg1xz Sorry, that isn't a counter point at all. Your argument is primarily based off gameplay wise, when AC3 was heavy driven on Boston / New York, while AC4 was primarily driven in the seas. I do see where you're coming from, but saying this doesn't equate to that. For example, you called the Aquila slow. It was never stated to be slow. It was called Ghost of the North seas for a reason. And by statements from characters, it was classified to be the fastest in the entire Atlantic ocean in its time. You can't base that the rocky gameplay of AC3 was a definitive reason to call the Aquila slow. Same with AC3 and AC4 where the "Lack of mortars" meant that AC3 mortars are less deadly, therefore Jackdaw is better due to having "harder ship battles". You fail to consider the time frame from AC3 - AC4. Ship technology from the 1720s compared to the 1780s have improved significantly. The Aquila has seen its fair share of bigger ships as well. Just because the gameplay in AC4 make ship battles its golden focus, doesn't make it a feat against the Aquila at all.
"in ac4 man o wars come in 4 variants, level 36. level 49, level 60 bounty hunter ships and level 75 legendary ships. Something tells me that the man o war the aquila can one shot are either level 36 or level 49." I'm sorry this is such a stretch that it isn't even a point at all. You don't know what the Aquila can do or not. It can probably one shot level 36 - 49 man o wars, but where is the proof to say that? The thing is, the Jackdaw can't even one shot any Man O wars in Black flag regardless of level. The point I was making with the "one shotting" was that the versatility and vast weaponry from the Aquila can disable the Man O war without sinking it completely. Grape shot, chain shot (which is actually more effective than AC4's black flag due to one side being able to chain shot directly at a ship's sails and effectively tearing them down). Chain shot in AC4 is only at the 4 chaser cannons and temporarily stall a hostile ship.
The reloading issue doesn't necessarily mean less DPS on side cannons, considering the fact that the Aquila has 60 broadside cannons, compared to the Jackdaw's 46 cannons. There is no evidence to suggest either. Considering the time frame, the Aquila's broadside cannons should be much more powerful than the Jackdaw due to this. Being made in a more advanced time line. Though for some reason, in your next few points, you did state that the DPS can be reconfigured and the Aquila could
The Aquila has done this to many smaller ships, so what makes the Jackdaw so unique that would somehow dodge shots from the Aquila? The Aquila has sunken other schooners and other brigs. The size difference doesn't mean everything, considering the fact that the Aquila itself defies that. You know, being the Ghost of the north seas and the fastest in the Atlantic?
You misunderstand how Grape shot works. Its small size allows for it to peer through corners of inside a ship, killing crewmates. It doesn't necessarily attack the top crew. Hence why it's called grape shot.
Yes, I did acknowledge the lack of chaser or rear cannons the Aquila has, compared to the Jackdaw. But the point is, that the Jackdaw only uses them to stall enemy ships. It's not a primary method to sink ships, it only assists it.
You can't keep comparing the Aquila to an average Frigate, much like if I were to compare the Jackdaw to an average brig. It's just a bad faith deconstruction of the Aquila, when it's stated and confirmed to be much more than just an average frigate. It's very fast for a frigate, it's power packed and can square up to a Man O war and can take on multiple ships, much like the Jackdaw itself. It is a fast and very maneuverable frigate. You can literally upgrade its wheel ingame for more stability and better maneuverability.
No the Aquila has plenty of armor. It's an upgradable feature ingame. Please look at it. Saying that it doesn't is also a bad faith deconstruction, considering the fact that it tanked many shots from powerful ships such as Man O wars, which should be much more powerful than ones from AC4. Saying a lack of mortars doesn't mean that it's suddenly weaker, you're trying to scale the ships evenly, when in reality, the ships in AC3 should be stronger due to the timeline. Though range does play a huge factor.
"the aquila has iron hull upgrade yes but not top deck and mast upgrade even if we assume it does somehow contribute I'd say the shots for mortars alone is 5-7 and thats assuming it is a equal to or better armor than the max level bounty hunter frigate in ac4. and note the amount if mortars the jackdaw has is enough to sink it 4-5 times depending if we allow the iron hull armor to count and add to the top deck and mast protection. idk bout the aquila but when the jackdaw gets a hull upgrade top deck and mast also get armor." This argument isn't valid because 1. You're assuming that the Aquila cannot tank mortar shots, 2. You're assuming that the Aquila's durability is equivalent to 5-7 mortar shots and 3rd, there is no evidence to suggest that it's comparable to a "Max level bounty hunter frigate in ac4". The only valid argument comes at the top deck mast upgrade. Yes, the Aquila doesn't have top deck and mast upgrade, but that doesn't necessarily mean the Aquila would be less tanky to Mortar shots. Even in AC4, the Jackdaw doesn't have top deck and mast upgrades too. It stayed relatively the same throughout the game, but it still tanks mortar shots fine. So, why would the Aquila be any different? If you're considering the technology advancements, the Aquila would be more tanky in a logical setting.
"even if the jackdaw charges straight towards the aquila, most guns will miss as all guns on the ship aim straight where as the jackdaw can shoot chain shot and ram." Again, that's not how chain shot works. It doesn't do much damage, it only slows down the ship, and considering it's 4 chaser cannons, it wouldn't do much at all. Yes, and the Aquila has also extremely strong rams. When the Man O war in the battle of Chesapeake disabled the Aquila's cannons, Connor rammed the Aquila into a fully functioning Man O war and completely disabled it. Also, the Jackdaw doesn't get any top deck or mast armor when you upgrade its hull armor. That is a complete lie. The image literally describes the side part of the Jackdaw. Not cool. It only gives armor to the sides of the Jackdaw.
By gameplay mechanics, the Aquila also has a brace option which also reduces incoming damage just like the Jackdaw. That isn't a point at all. From a closer range, the Aquila would absolutely destroy the Jackdaw. In a longer range, the Jackdaw may have a shot, if it manages to keep its distance from the Aquila, it can win. And it's very hypocritical to say that the Jackdaw has more resources than the Aquila, when the Jackdaw has a limited amount of ammo on its mortar, heat shot etc... The Aquila doesn't have a limit. So gameplay mechanics should never be the primary focus when having an argument for your sake.

Connor is definitely not naive. He knows certainly that none of his colonist allies have his best interests in mind but continues to do so hesitantly because he sees it as the only way. That's why he always complains throughout the game, to make it clear that he doesn't care for their colonist games.

Edward, but hear me out, his pure power combined with his in game utilities and abilities, combined with his wits, make him the most well rounded one on this list, Connor sure could take him in a snap, but that is only applied for base Edward, if Edward was to be at prime armor, utilities and weapons, he could be as or more powerful than Connor and Haytham combined.

Edward - Unpredictable , finese and survival mentality
Haytham - Trained , precise and cunning
Connor - raw physical strength and untapped anger and talent
Honestly all 3 is deadly in their own way, straight up melee connor win all day but assassin battle is more wit than brawn, for that im gotta give the edge to edward. Basically he survive the brutal pirate age where death is common in the profession and complete his training to become a master assassin after going back to england. Haytham is a close 2nd tho.

Edward along with his pirate crew sunked multiple man o' war ships and Devour the four legendary ships in every edge of the carribean sea, he Hunt down various both land and marine wildlife he also wields four flintlocks that made him more badass (two on his side pocket and another two on his chest) That feat is quite incredible!

Edward deserves more credits. He's the absolute best sailor in AC history. He can take down an entire ship by himself. Even the most fearsome pirates at the time respected and even feared him. He crippled both the Assassin Brotherhood and the Templar Order, although he did rebuild the Brotherhood later on and even became a Master of the London Brotherhood. All this without proper Assassin training. He's definitely the least deadly out of his family, but people need to put some respect on his name.

I give the tiebreaker to Edward since he’s easily the best marksman with firearms of the 3. Edward also would likely fight the dirtiest since he’s the pirate. Let’s be real all of them are 5/5 on the deadly scale so you’ve gotta split hairs where you can.
