Incredible! Now me and a friend are going to try and do a 2 vs 6 Hard ai on the same map. One question, though, why didn't any of them attack you until 8:40 (game time)? They were all on "Any Build", so was it just luck that none of them rushed/harassed you, or was was something about your build discouraging them from attacking earlier? I mean, you had virtually nothing to defend until about 6 minutes in, so why weren't the cheaters with their map hacking skillz swarming you with early game units? Could it be because you tech up to Hive very quickly so they read you as a high tech opponent?
these types of challenges have historically been 'my thing.' i did a lot of ladder for the first 2 or 3 years of sc2 then switched almost entirely to playing against ai since then. main reason being that i was too busy with work/family that i couldn't play as well as i wanted to against other people. i found the perfect alternative was to challenge myself any way i could against ai matchups and it allowed me to play the game stress free with the ability to pause the game most of the time if needed. i didn't realize that certain things were deemed 'impossible' by people in this subgenre of the game. i know in the last 10 years i've beat a LOT of matchups similar to the one in this video. this is almost exactly how i play my zerg vs ai. the only thing i would do differently is utilize viper abducts much more. maybe even cut 3 or so broods to build more vipers. i always feel like 50% of my apm is devoted to abducting voids/disruptors/colossai/sentries lmao. always struggled more against terran ai when playing zerg so gonna have see if you've uploaded that one yet! keep up the great vids marc :)

Well done! If I don't remember incorrectly, I think Vibe did this on his Twitch stream, but not Zerg against random, only Zerg against Protoss, like uThermal did. Vibe did it on the Rooftop Terrace map, I think, so that might be a map to check out
I think the benefit to leaving the smallest amount of minerals in the last patch to force the enemies to pull their workers isn't 'there are less units' so much as at the cost of 5 minerals you are buying the knowledge to know that the ai is mined out
I really want to see a tournament style version of this, where all players start at the same time with a faction of their choosing agains all random. The ranking would be: fastest time to win, then number of enemy AIs defeated and then, for those who beat the same number of AIs, time survived. I think that could make for one hell of a fun competition. :D
Something cool would be... Something with rounds. Round 1 you get 1,000 mins and 750 gas. Both people make armies like on the unit tester map, then face off on a small map. Rounds would last 3-5 minutes. They both start at a corner, it would have a capture the flag element with the 2 starting corners, the 2 vacant corners, plus the middle which would count for slightly more. Then in round 2, you would get 2500 mins and 2000 gas or something but depending on how many flags you had captured for how long would be bonus money towards the next round. You could end up ahead or behind, but if you micro good and make a good army you could comeback. Maybe it would be 3-5 rounds, Maybe all the bonuses only go to the final round.
40% more. Notice how their mineral patches took longer to degrade, Thermy expanded before them so that's why. If it were 40% faster they'd have expired long before his

@@atrtsh well thank you you learn something new every day.. I guess you could say... How Tell them your a dirty cheeser without telling them... Cheese is love cheese is life
So, my question is that since the evo chambers seem to be taking the brunt of the damage from things exploding (disruptors mostly), why not spend more transfuses on the evo chambers? Every one lost is 75 minerals, and losing 2 is essentially an extra queen (more transfuses) or another lurker/spore. They seem incredibly tanky. Do they just take so much damage that it's more efficient to just let them die and spend to rebuild?
I feel like you need a map that also has more bases. Ik it might have a neighbor and be super hard that way but I don’t understand how you can make enough otherwise
This would so work if the enemy had but 1 human player, he would just move arround with air or destory everything in a row rather than weird AI walking arround.
This is excellent. One suggestion. The AI will avoid the location of a ravager bile attack. Like they’re going to not want to go in a liberator siege zone.
the force fields make this more doable as they slow down the enemy even further without these dumb forcefields the ais would crash onto you all at once and your dps and transfuses wouldn't be enough to hold them back
I imagined locust waves to split up the armies, perhaps to harass neighbors later in the game. Maybe just too slow between attacks to make a difference. Brood lords are just a much more constant attack.
2 base economies... just not enough to make it worth the investment counting the buildings. It builds up to a max, but it does that before the tech is available or it can make an army much quicker using other units. So it does that, but then when it enters the spartan gates at thermals entrance they only die a few at a time which it remakes for a short bit. If it loses that initial army it is pretty close to already out of money to make anything else anyways. - not sure about uThermal but vipers and spores and or neural parasites. If they have 8 and you neural 4 it's a wash but you can then focus down the other 4 and come out ahead. Still hard having to spam that Transfuse though. If they each had 1 or 2 more expansions it would be a lot harder and they would probably have carriers in the 2nd wave. If you lined your base with spores they would actually kill off the interceptors and that would also make the computer go broke quick. Also, it will add in the tempest first, then the carrier but it is also likely to make ground and air So... since it takes zerg a while to get the vipers out, to pick off and kill the voids way more ground units die. And Lastly... if it drops a lot of supply quickly it will try to make something from every building so it is also likely to have 2 air making buildings and 6 or more ground making buildings. It tries for a composition of a certain mix. So if it is maxed and 1 archon dies, most times it remakes the archon, remaxing it.
You know, for this particular map and if what your saying is true about how the AI helps their neighbours, then perhaps make roughly 4x swarm hosts and park 2 on each side of your base attacking your neighbours base, then a million AI units might not turn up to your front door, as some the units would be braking off to go help their neighbours army/base instead of yours. Just a thought. Congrats!!
When? Alternate strats always SOUND good, like making more queens, but this always seems to end up in a VERY carefully executed balancing act.
