      @Nat
How would the answer be a lie when it's based entirely on your own observation?
Lemme explain what I mean. Donald Trump. He lies frequently, as in making a statement of fact he knows to be untrue. What does he lie about? Mostly statistics. How does he lie about them? He exaggerates the numbers a little. What effect does this have in relation to himself? The news media fact-checks him, prints the actual statistic, and more people become aware of it and thus more people are now paying attention to an issue he addressed. Therefore, one reason Donald Trump lies is to get free publicity for his political agenda.

    Listen to us,
    don’t think for yourselves.
    Leave all of your books
    safe on their shelves.
    We’ll tell you what’s right
    and tell you what’s true.
    We’ll tell you what’s best
    and what you must do.
    It’s not yours to question,
    just blindly obey.
    Our words are the law,
    so do as we say.
    It's okay to smile

    And we’ll choose the lives
    that really do matter.
    Because babies aren’t human
    If you choose to abort.
    They’re just masses of tissue
    so says Supreme Court.
    We’ll write the history
    and interpret it too,
    decide what is relevant,
    and what’s best for you.
    You can topple all statues
    the monuments deface,
    because Lenin and Marx
    will rise in their place.
    And men can be women
    and women be men,
    because no one is guilty
when you deny there is sin.
And you can kneel on the flag,
    and burn the stripes too,
    because nothing is sacred
    about red white and blue.
    Don’t say you’re not racist,
    that’s going too far!
    Because saying you’re not,
    just proves that you are!!
    And we’ll have your guns
    just lay them all down,
You're a racist if you complain
when they burn your house down.
    We’re your protectors!
    We’ll set you all free!
    Just make sure you nod,
    and always agree.
    Yes, we hold the power

How to cure Marxism: Teach kids to delineate between reality and fantasy. Should those efforts fail, toss them into the real world so they can see for themselves. Some basic morals would be good too. Not to mention that we have a severe distortion of the word "selfishness" and we now have many people who call you selfish for not arbitrarily giving up everything that is demanded from you by people who had no right to any of it in the first place and somehow THEY are not the selfish ones.

How to cure marxism: Place a sequence of tests to a group of children about mathematics and english... If every children make an A, every children receive $100... If half children make an A, every children receive $10... If a quarter of children make an A, every children receive $1... If not even a quarter of children make an A, no children receive money... At start, some children will make that extra effort (in order to receive $100)... But at the second test, they know it's impossible to make $100 (because of others)... So they won't make that same effort again (studying), as the first time... And so on... If benefits from hard working are shared among people who don't need to work, at the end, no one will care about working...

Plenty of abolitionists probably wore cotton clothes and smoked tobacco too. Does that mean they shouldn’t have despised slavery?
And much of the technological innovation attributed to capitalism is actually the product of state investment (marianamazzucato.com/entrepreneurial-state/ ), including for the iPhones referenced above: the GPS, tiny circuitry, touch-screen display, the internet itself - all the direct result of government R&D.
“If you back away from the federal government and say, ‘What has it done for us over the last century?’, one of the things it has done has been an engine for innovation. People don’t like to think this. They think that the private sector is the vital innovator, but in fact, most of the basic science that lies at the bottom of advances in medicine and industry starts with government research. Because industry has no interest in paying for things that aren’t going to yield a return for 30 years. So you don’t get the internet, vaccines for AIDS, one thing after another. And Trump has sought to zero out unbelievably successful R&D operations. So for the moment it will look like, ‘Oh, they cut government. Great, it’s cheaper’. But the price that’s going to be paid for that isn’t measurable, and will be paid in 30 or 40 years; it’s the price of not having found out things we might’ve, like, for example, a solution to climate change.”

Socialism, Marxism (Lenin, Marx, Engels, Trotsky) rely on the willful ignorance of human nature, the desire for self preservation, and development over life. At least under capitalism, there is an opportunity to not directly involve state agents in your benign affairs. All other forms of national economic arrangement devolve into totalitarianism faster than capitalism. The best forms of government are the ones which give the mass private equity holders the most trouble and pain as they gobble up everything. That process is always inevitable but, the one thing that can be done is to make it take longer.
