Initially previewed at Tokyo Auto Salon 2015, Yokohama Wheel has finally released the Advan Racing RZII. These are High Quality Flow-Formed Cast Wheels with step and machined spokes for added strength and weight reduction.
The RZII are available in three unique finishes: Hyper Black, Indigo Blue, and Racing Gloss Black. The wheel is then finished off with a diamond machining around the wheels outer ring flange to further emphasize the design.
Sizing applications range from Japanese and European vehicles, with sizing in 17, 18, & 19 inch diameters and a wide array of offsets.

Hi Peter, Can you review some of the latest Advan wheels such as the RS-DF progressive?

What’s the difference between the offsets on the wheels ? Appearance wise just a bigger dish on the outside ??

    Hi Peter, nice review there.
What is the difference between the RZ2 and the RS2?
Do you plan to have a RS2 review also?j

      Hi Peter,
Yes, I'll try to get the RS2 in and the RZ2. The main different between these wheels is the sharpness of the spoke + the "strength cliff" between the spokes. You'll notice on the ADVAN RSII, the spokes look evenly distributed with a symmetric look. On the RZII, one spoke will have this strength bridge on it, and the next one will have a cut out. It goes around like that, so its more like a "split 5 spoke" design since not every spoke is identical. Another feature of the RZ is the machined lip on the edge and deeper recession in the second cut lip. Thanks!

Peter, what is the lug nut bore diameter of this wheel? Just curious as to what tapered bottom lug nuts will fit this wheel. Thank you!

Hey Tim, I'll have to measure it out for you.
It does have a pretty large bore diamater though. I can fit all rex heptagon lugs and project kics within here.

Peter Luu - The Real Wheel Deal That would be great. I guess I could run whatever nuts I wanted but I was going after the steel Rays competition nuts but they have a 24mm seat diameter. I also like the swiveling R40 nuts from Kics and the 2 piece leggdura ones you reviewed.

Hey peter are these wheels forged?

    • @RealWheelDeal

Christopher Hernandez Hey Chris. This one is not, it's mold form casted.

Peter Luu - The Real Wheel Deal
Would you mind explaining the differences between this molded cast wheel and a forged wheel?

    • @RealWheelDeal
      @RealWheelDeal  7 лет назад +5

Sure, a mold-form cast wheel instead of using liquid metal to pour into a mold and let it cool, they actually make the metal to a consistency of a paste/butter. This prevents air and impurities from getting into the metal. They then put this molds under PRESSURE.
A forged wheel they take a solid billet. Cut it partially into it's shape. Then they put it in 10,000 TONS of pressure (at least RAYS / ADVAN does) to align the metallic structure in the rim. Then continue cutting it. RAYS does this 3 times...
So just because a wheel is "forged" not every wheel is FORGED equally. Thanks!
