Since the filming of this video, personal property exemptions from debt collection have increased. Family exemptions are now $100,000 (up from $60,000), and exemptions for an individual are now $50,000 (up from $30,000). Updated March 2019.
I have 31 credit cards, about 130 grand in total credit (on all cards combined) and I live on a 960 SSDI check. I know they can't go after my SSDI check. Althow I do have money in the bank it's all in my dad's name and my name is NOT tied to it (I do online banking with it to pay bills like credit cards because between my dad and I it's mine BUT legally its not mine 😀) I do own my own home though! So IF I max out all my cards...what can happen to me? I'm serious about this. And I do live in texas

If in Texas I win a lawsuit or get a settlement. When I open a bank acct. to deposit this money in a trust can anyone still get to it?
