  • On December 1-3, 2021, PAX brought together PoC partners to discuss three key themes: international support to local security actors, accountability for military missions, and PoC champions in the future of warfare.
On day 1 (theme: International support to local security actors), Steve Driehaus (Resident Senior Director at the National Democratic Institute (NDI)), Ghassan Jawad Kadhim (Political Advisor and Analyst of Politics in the Middle East), Julia Steets (Director at Global Public Policy Institute (GPPi)) and Col. (ret) Mike Jason (Executive Director at Allied Airlift 21) engaged in an interactive discussion on training local forces and applying lessons learned from Afghanistan to Iraq. Moderator: Hans Rouw (Program Lead Protection of Civilians at PAX).
The annual PAX PoC Conferences are organized by PAX’s PoC Team in partnership with the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs. For more information about the PAX PoC Conferences, our work and other events go to www.protectionofcivilians.org.
