    Another great game as I've been watching and copying. I think when the Soviets assaulted the truck and basically came up with a "6", the truck was destroyed. You guys mentioned going to the damage table but on page 113 it states that if the vehicle is a soft-skin or open-topped, it is destroyed automatically if damage is scored. The transport rule mentioned is also true, but I think the truck was done regardless of where troops were located at turn end.

    An interesting and engaging scenario. Loved the appearance of the T-26 M-1931 with twin MG turrets on the light tank. BA rules are perhaps the only ones that make such a tank so powerful! The close combat was brief and bloody in this game. I loved the infantry assault on the StuG III! Such elàn!
    As always the good natures and friendly commentary of both gamers was as interesting as the game itself. Well done gents and I am looking forward to the next Bolt Action video. Thank you for sharing these delightful games.

    Loved it guys. I really thought Peter's Germans were going to be smashed by the start of Turn 3 with the big difference in points, but he held on a bit longer. I think with the drops (and this is super beardy-gamey-cheesy) if you nominated the table edge the supplies would either land exactly there as they couldn't go off table or they'd land closer to your troops...provided that they can't land off table.
    Looking forward to the next one!

    Splendid video & a great game! Your terrain is superb, really inspirational. 👌
    I played this scenario last week with my newly painted Soviets. It didn't go as well as your game. My T34 was set alight by a PaK36, at long range. Crew put the fire out but never rallied to clear the pins. I used the Officer Cadet option for 2 squads. Inexperienced but Green & Fanatic. That part of my plan worked well.
    Thanks for sharing your games.

      The fanatics are great! Too bad about your tank crew. I tend to forego the rally and take my chances on order tests and pay for it!

      @@overthetopgaming8498 With the free squad I had 3 green units, so I used a Frontnik. That seemed to work ok. I had a 1st Lieutenant & used him to activate both Fanatic squads at the same time. 24 dice at a time! That also worked! I'm about to watch your Hill 152 video. Keep up the good work.

    Hi Guys. I have been enjoying your battle reports. May I ask what is the source for your buildings in this scenario? Thanks.

    • @overthetopgaming8498
      @overthetopgaming8498  2 года назад

      Thanks for watching them. The buildings are all stl files. Some sourced free on the internet and some from Wow Buildings. We customized the roofs on them though. Both with either cardboard shingles or towel thatching.

    Interesting game to watch as I had played this scenario about a month ago. It is heavily weighted in the Soviet favour. I am not sure how the German player can win. In my game, I was the Soviets and was able to overwhelm my opponent with numbers just like in this game. Really enjoying these games.

    • @overthetopgaming8498
      @overthetopgaming8498  2 года назад

      Thanks for watching and yes it would be tough for the Germans to pull out a W in this one. Dice would have to really cooperate as well. I'll take it though as Peter cleaned my clock on the last 2 scenarios lol

    Love your guys content. Your tables always look like alot of fun. Question about a rule your partner has done it a couple times in your past videos and early on this one. But he is saying he gets a +1 after hits were established when in a "building" to the wound roll. I'm not sure of that rule and cant find it in the book. So ex. It took 6's for you to hit. You hit with a 6 then he stated they are regulars but add +1 due to being in building. Again I could be wrong but something to read into.

    • @overthetopgaming8498
      @overthetopgaming8498  2 года назад

      Thanks for the compliments and watching. We're having a lot of fun with this. The rule is "Extra Protection" on page 124 of the main rule book. The die roll the score damage is increased by +1 for units in buildings. Is this the rule you are referring to?

      @@overthetopgaming8498 ok perfect. No totally seeing it now. Appreciate that because we didn't play the extra protection rule. Probably will from this point on.

      We're learning as we go no worries! Early on we got quite a few rules mixed up or forgotten. More games in and repetition help. The system is quite intuitive without too many special rules and supplements to bloat it.

    Played that onw using CoC, the Soviets had a much worse day of dice. I do like your terrain and pretty figures. Are the buildings 3d printed? Which battle matte is that?

    • @overthetopgaming8498
      @overthetopgaming8498  2 года назад

      Thanks for checking this out! My dice were definitely showing up for me when they needed to - which is like a breath of fresh air lol. The buildings are 3d printed and the mat is "Tundra" from FLG. I have over a dozen mats and will have a chance to use more as we get into the scenarios within Stalingrad proper. Heck this is the first one without a river running through it. Thanks again!

    Should of had a 1933 T-26B or BT-5/7 tank as the MG only really does restrict you on going against any buildings and units within with MG's. And about 25-30 points difference that light AT gun could of come in handy not only against the buildings but also against the Opel and Stug.

    • @overthetopgaming8498
      @overthetopgaming8498  2 года назад

      That was actually my plan but ran short on points. That's that reason it was inexperienced as well. I just finished painting that model and hope to press it into service in the coming scenarios! Thanks for watching!

      @@overthetopgaming8498 I understand that with point restrictions, The only rule that is still giving me a sort of problem is the assault phase with the instant firing and results and how it works, But I got a German force and Soviet one. I do like my infantry brooms in my Brummbar and ISU-152's nothing like taking a 10 man squad down to half in a single hit and dealing 3+ pins. The newest vehicle I bought 2 weeks ago is my Panzerwerfer 42 want to see how the multi launcher dynamics goes and works and I refuse to use a Katyusha due to being on a soft skin truck and so filling the tank slot in the platoon. Soviets are a little more fun to play because you can also take US and British vehicles and weapons because of lend lease. I got a M3A1 halftrack and scout car a WC-51/52 3/4 ton Dodge truck with DShK HMG, and Valentine X inf. tank. Looks like this game could of went either way on a few different dice rolls.

      The StuG III F had a long 7.5 cm gun. That model in your scenario is an Auf B-E model with the 7.5 cm L24 gun.

    • @overthetopgaming8498
      @overthetopgaming8498  2 года назад

      Exactly. It's a proxy for the scenario. As the collection grows we can add more in terms of wysiwyg. For the most part we're using what you see only the odd proxy.

  • @roderickrobertson8223
    @roderickrobertson8223 2 года назад +1

    Annoying historical quibbling alert! StuG III B-E's were not normally armed with any MGs nor roof mounted gun shields. Therefore after the fall of France (perhaps even during the Battle of France) and up to about late-1942/very early-1943 each StuG III was assigned a protective team of 4-10 infantry by the unit it was supporting.
    Therefore Peter's StuG should have had 4-10 German troops escorting and protecting it from Pat's militia arsonists with their Molotov Cocktails and their heightened sense of agency as "Tank Hunters! Picayune, I know, but I sometimes cannot help myself.
    Still watching the video, so more general comments to follow. Really enjoying this series so far. Thanks gents.
