Man, there were some absolutely crazy rolls in this game. I thought the 7s were mental, but the exceptionals on the Soviets as they got up to the hill. wow.
I know! These dice were crazy on both sides.

Wow, that was a bloody battle! The T-34/76 was the star of the Soviet attack. But the whirring Tripod-mounted MG-34 Spandaus of the Germans created a ballet of blood for the Soviets to dance into. i thought the Germans' fates were sealed when their LiG-75 regimental gun was blown off the objective but withering fire and vicious counter attacks by melee conducted by the Germans carried the day. What a nailbiter that scenario was. Yeesh!
Well done gents, on producing a fine game and a very, very engaging video. Thank you for making the efforts to make and post these superb video battle reports. From your accents I surmise you're both Canadians, so you're doing Canadian miniature wargaming proud. If I'm wrong, please move to Canada as we need more gamers like you promoting the hobby. Great game to watch. What magnificent dice rolls or abysmal. I have played this game. My Soviet opponent took 2 flamethrower T34s. I was in trouble.
I was hoping to get my flamethrower up close sooner than i did. Those engineers took a beating though.

Pat & Peter - I am really enjoying the campaign. Great sportsmanship as well. Thank you for all the behind the scenes work to make this happen. Pat - the yellow on orange dice are hard to see online as they lack contrast on that game mat. White on red, black on white show great. Sorry, I as I know they are your “lucky” Soviets.

Just watched this report today and it was awesome!! Keep up the Great work. Just wanted to point out that the assault by the Russians on the unit at the top of the hill should have been fought simultaneously due to the Germans being dug in and behind cover. Looking forward to catching up on the rest of your batreps. Keep them coming!

Small arms can pin the half track as it's open topped so gives a +1 to pen so on a 6 it can effectively cause superficial damage and generate pins.

Nope. Small arms can only pin armoured cars with open top. HMG got +1 to damege so it is able to glance +7 halftruck. You get +1 to damege open top with HE. Also You don't use vehicle damege chart with soft skin vehicles. You roll six and it's done.
@@Piwek84PL The open top rule is the same for all vehicles with it not just armoured cars that's why it's funny when you use small arms to pin open top transports and open topped artillery vehicles with armour value 7.
@@scottusher3712 Piwek is right- small arms only cause 1 pin on open topped but can never cause superficial damage. That +1 for open topped counts for indirect fire. And +1 on damage as well.

Insane dice rolling at end of game, I've never seen armoured assault engineers wiped out by small arms fire. Some minor points, the half track should have reversed after failing morale. This would have carried the assault engineers backwards. Soviets forgot that they can re-roll failed morale checks, may have altered the result of the game. I think it's best to remove the terrain simulating "dug-in" once the unit moves, saves any confusion and arguments. Really good game and played in a very sporting manner.
Great points. We even spoke of the vehicles reversing on morale failures before the game. Slowly but surely the rules are all sinking in. This was a heck of a game and I still have nightmares of my engineers getting wiped out with smg's! Thanks again for watching.

I was wondering, why didn’t the German player consolidated back in to cover after he won the charge on the hill against the Soviet veterans?

I think you guys made this mistake in another game as well. When you charge somebody that's in cover you strikes simultaneously

Shouldn't the t34 failing order test move a full move backwards which would move it off table? At 24:06

Thanks - I'm just finishing up some terrain and models for Scenario 6: Rail Station No.1, and we should be good to go within the next couple of weeks. We're really looking forward to this one and the next several as the action moves into the city proper.
Do the passengers in the open top half track not also receive pins when the vehicle is hit by small arms fire?
