tik tok ruined the song for me. I used to like it but now that ive heard it excessively on tiktok I cant enjoy it anymore. I just want to scream when I hear it
He can sing. He can write. He can act. He's funny and seems like a really good dude. Man this guy is awesome. One of the most talented celebrities today.
incredible interview!!! you can tell Zane actually has respected for Joe as a musician and has an apperciation for his acting as well. And the way he separates them but gives both sides praise is lovely to see.
For some reason this made me really emotional I'm so fucking proud of him and so so happy he's getting the recognition he deserves What a great interview, I didn't see the time pass at all Thank you
loved being able to watch decide and even twenty twenty’s evolution over the years. especially as a fan who has loved his stuff from the beginning, so seeing the growth is something i am so excited about.
This was such a good and insightful interview!! Zane is always the best at asking questions. I’m so happy for Joe and all the success this song has brought him!!
06:40 as someone who makes music in Ableton and is super inspired by Djo, I loved hearing this!! Masterpiece of an album, had been waiting for this interview
Actually found out he played music while he was doing the media run/ interview for the last stranger things season and started listening to DJO. Decide is a great album.
The song is about how he dosnt want to just be "the guy from stranger things". The verse "enter Caroline", refrences how he didn't know he would get so famous in stranger things, he feels like it was a trick.
zane lowe imo is the best interviewer there is nowadays he’s just so genuine and respectful but also insanely knowledgeable about every artist he interviews
Omg I didn’t know it was his song I discovered it two days ago and I’ve been playing it like a crazy person😭😭😭I literally thought it’s a 80’s song it’s sooo timeless wow
Just finished watching this and omg I have a lot to say so brace yourselves for what’s basically a huge comment: Djo (Joe Keery) is one of my all time favorite artists and I’m so glad to hear him talk more about his music in interviews aside from his acting career (even if I already love him in my favorite show: Stranger Things and decided to follow him from there on this music journey!) Anyway, his music is exactly the type of music I like listening to, which I can’t believe actually exists, and I genuinely believe that it came at the right time of my life when I needed it the most (2019 aka when he literally started as a solo artist after departing from Post Animal, which is still a great band to listen to, by the way, so I highly recommend listening to the band if anyone hasn’t yet!) Also, I just love how he delves into topics/lyrics that aren’t very common in songs and it just resonates a lot with what I think about sometimes. I truly believe that Joe is in his element when he makes music and I love listening to his thought process when it comes to making it. This was such a fun listen and Zane Lowe always asks the best questions in his interviews and podcast with musicians! I’m already looking forward to Djo’s third album! I can’t even begin to express how many times I’ve listened to both Decide and Twenty Twenty! 😭❤️ Edit: OKAY YEAH I THINK THIS MIGHT BE MY FAVORITE INTERVIEW OF HIS OMG I’M OBSESSED WITH EVERYTHING DISCUSSED HERE AND I’M SO HAPPY THAT “ON AND ON” WAS MENTIONED OMG THAT’S MY FAVORITE SONG OF HIS (Zane, you better get Joe back for more interviews whenever he releases something omg I need so much more content with you guys!! The energy within your dynamic was just so there 🥰)
this comment is incredible and i totally, wholeheartedly agree. just. all of it. everything u said. his music is like nothing else in the world, it's a whole universe, and it's so introspective and engaging and yeah man, genuinely u Nailed it, love ur thoughts on this! 💙
@@ewllen808 thank you so much for your kind words!! ❤️❤️ And I agree with you on how his music is introspective because it really makes you think about the world around you
@@IA-qs9mi I watched the yunoreview about it and he actually said Djo was much better than most actor musicians and that if he keeps his pace he could become a serious and important artist
this is absolutely insane to me in the best way. i'm trying to find a way to articulate how it feels without sounding like the world's biggest asshole, but i can't find the words to describe what this album has meant to me since i first heard it in... october 2022? and that's Rare for me, to be so, idk, early for something i guess, but it's such a personal, introspective, isolated experience of an album that i felt like i was living inside of it for so long. and like, as a rule i don't go on tiktok anymore, so i haven't seen the hype, just seen djo talking about it and the recent releases and interviews but just knowing that people are experiencing this entire universe i've been living in so long in such a vibrant, internal way is WILD. i kind of thought everyone must've heard it, that /everyone/ must be experiencing it the same way i have, all at the same time. it's kind of embarrassing to even attempt to articulate just what i experienced with this album (sober, i might add). totally crazy, totally surreal, i can't imagine what he must be feeling right now. he created something that didn't just burrow into my brain but pulled me into a mind of its own. forever one of my favourite albums of all time, i can't imagine ever falling out of love with it, and i love twenty twenty as well, and i truly can't wait to see what he does next, i'm enthralled by everything he creates. incredible artist, incredible mind 💙
same here!!! i was obsessed when it first came out and now that everyone is in love with it is crazy because i'm over here like yo i've BEEN in love with this album for over a year and a half now
The song aged like fine wine.
So did he, no idea he was 30+
@@RB2013-jj7kqumm he looks 31 why do people think 30 year olds are like geriatric smh he just left his 20s. It’s still plenty young.

FINALLY people are talking about DJO it's great!! Time for a tour after ST5
Joe is a true artist. Djo is an amazing project. What a multi-talented gem.
He can sing. He can write. He can act. He's funny and seems like a really good dude.
Man this guy is awesome. One of the most talented celebrities today.
knowing of this album in senior year, to then revisiting it and falling in love with it after graduating; Decide has been a blessing.

Bless the Spotify algorithm for introducing me to this song in 2022. It's terribly hard not to scream out "WHEN IM BACK IN CHICAGO I FEEL IT..."
The way I have been waiting for this interview....
God he’s so beautiful 😭

This one had some tough moments haha but he’s got a couple of these interviews that are really good imo
finallllly a new interview where we get to hear all about this second album masterpiece.

someone said that Caroline is his sister that was telling him to go do the show and that it's going to be fine
i absolutely love the attention hes been getting as a musician.
One of the best artists out there people! And Massively UNDERRATED!🙏💜
It’s really just an excuse to hang out with friends is so underrated. It’s just like jamming together making music like making coffee for breakfast
some simply fantastic, thoughtful questions asked by the host here. First time watching the show, i'll be watching more. Cheers mate, great podcast
i performed this song with my band. Never thought it would blow up. I'm so happy for him.
We need this man to tour.
Absolutely
Decide is incredible but Twenty-Twenty was the soundtrack to my summer a few years ago and it’ll always hold a special place ❤
I like how he spells his stage name because it brings awareness about the "Dj" sound. A lot of people are unfamiliar
Part of the 2022 fam😅, Chateau got me hooked. Glad to see my boi is getting his recognition.
My favorite song on the album was Runner. Listened to it over and over.
