aw that’s so sweet of you! hope you’ll be back soon to enjoy fall in hyde park!🍁 yes ofc, a few girls and i decided to start up a volleyball club (we’ve actually been trying for the past two years), and we’re really pushing for it to happen this year! the league in the video is from a group based in chicago for rec sports, and my friend from our volleyball club actually works there now! so that league wasn’t a part of uchicago, but we just signed up w our friends on the guys club team to play together. but! if you’re interested in joining the women’s club team, plz message me on facebook or dm me on instagram, and i’ll add you to our group! we get together quite often now to play grass w each other/the guys and would love for you to come play w us!!!
Hi there, I love both the videos on your channel! I have a quick question, does UChicago make students do school work during weekends? Is there classes on Saturday or Sunday? Or are those 2 days for you to relax, like you showed in the video?
hi!! no classes on saturday/sunday, but occasionally during finals season, some TAs/profs hold review sessions over the weekend! most weekends i can at least find some time to relax, but i also study a good amount during those times as they’re a good chance to catch up/get ahead!
do you enjoy doing research at UChicago? how are classes like (size, difficulty, etc.)? are people really competitive? what about programs? do they have good programs for premeds?
yes! i did bio research in the hospital and had a really good experience with both labs. it reeeally depends on the class. core classes/upper level electives are usually smaller, but general education classes can be pretty big! the difficulty unfortunately also depends on the class, happy to answer follow up questions about specific classes if you’d like!:) i’m unsure about premed programs since i wasn’t premed, but i know there are a lot of academic/professional student orgs that are major specific! i think we have a premed club, and i know we definitely have a couple bio-focused clubs. but sorry for not knowing the answer to whether or not there are good premed programs😓 hope this helps a bit!
UChicago is my daughter's dream school. She is currently a high school sophomore. Any suggestions besides studying for SAT and keeping her straight As throughout high school.
