I always thought it would’ve been cool if they’d said that Christine was Abby’s mother. They would’ve kept the family career tradition in the family.
I know a lot of folks were rooting for Harry and Christine, but I never shipped them. They made for better friends, and I think any romance between them wouldn't have worked out and might have ruined their friendship forever.
The recent season finale revealed that Christine had passed away some time ago- which I suspected to be the case.
