The games that you have already purchased WILL be redownloadable. They only thing sony is doing is stopping the ability to buy more games from the digital front.

good summary, you covered the important question regarding those news. got a ps3 and a vita and i'm in general very much into physical media of all sorts, which means there is a lot of it in my appartment. yet i do have a few digital games on the affected systems (there are a few digital only titles, too and all the psp and ps1 games), so i do hope that nothing happens to the storage space and will look for a way to make backups.
As someone else mentioned, no Ps Store does not mean you can't redownload it.
So someday steam may go down, and... i don't even want to think of it...😅

I don't understand why, because I figure it's not hurting Sony to keep the already completed libraries open,or servers for network that operate legacy systems.. Taking the nostalgia away from company.
When they shut psvita store its now legal to pirate games seeing as they are not being produced... Cool
How would I be able to access my download list in the future for all my digital games? Especially when I purchase another Vita system?!
Oh this wasn't too unexpected for me but a huge disappointment. I have had data corrupted with my Vita before and had to redownload content. Some games are just going to break and not be reparable.
It’s sad to see psn store shutting down for these devices but it also might be fun to see many more users safely jailbreak their devices and see a more active community. I say safely because the fear of jailbreaking is being able to be banned if logging in through your psn on a modded device.

Well if we dont speak up they will do whatever we need to know and learn that we as a people have to the power to change everything why because we the people are building these companies and giving them all our money no buy no build thats all until we get what we want we have to work in unison

I just bought a PS3, this year. Glad I bought it when I did, but this is why I hate digital media in gaming because crap like this. There's still a lot of great games that I have yet to get on my PSvita.

Super underrated content
Go to metacritic's top PS3 games of all time, you'll find that short of a few super popular games like FF XIII, MGS 4, DA Origins, DA II, Portal 2 and a few cult classics like Enslaved most of the other critically acclaimed and/or popular titles have found their way to PS5, so this isn't too much of a lost imo, unless you're a purist that HAVE to play og software on a legal way on og hardware that is.
That being said it's ridiculous that many older 1st party games like infamous, Ico, Sly Cooper, Killzone, Resistance, Greek Saga God of War and Ratchet & Clank games aren't available to play (without streaming) in PS5, especially those last two, considering that those franchises are still popular, with new titles on the horizon.
Unless PlayStation port these to modern platforms the only way for new players to play any of these will either be though streaming, pirating or buying what are soon to be overpriced physical copies.

There are a lot better ways sony can do this without taking away access to the games. Nintendo doesn’t get rid of the virtual console games you bought when they shut down the Wii store
