Encounter 2 Kill two packs of attendants and a knight > one set respawns with the addition of a Trammel > killing the Trammel unlocks the plates - you can now bounce the energy back and forth (1 send, 1 bounce, 2 bounce, 3 bounce) and let it fail once all the resonances are on the floor - during this time no mobs will spawn making it super safe and easy. The Trammel will spawn once again when the 3rd bounce reaches the sending plate and is not bounced again (e.g. a "failed" bounce). Kill the Trammel as a pair for expediency, or alone while the Call to Reckoning (CtR) players go to mid. The players without CtR can pick up one set of resonances while keeping an eye out for blights. When the players with CtR convert it to Stolen Favor (SF) in mid, the second player can already be ready and killing the newly spawned adds down bottom. The SF player makes the shape call while going to collect their resonances, both can work as a team to clear the top plate of mobs. Whoever is sparking the Conduit returns to the bottom and whoever is not stays up top and sends the beam. Resonances disappear as soon as the conduit is closed. Ideally all 6 are picked up. The more you can dunk near the boss the more time you get back for the next round. This was the easiest way the fireteam I was a part of found to do it. It's much easier to be bouncing resonances without adds trying to murder you.
I think Verity might be the most creative and well-designed raid encounter we ever got. That said, it is also 80% of the reason why I'm not confident in my chances and abilities on getting through this raid
I spent 3 hours on it last night and I was the only one in the group that couldn't make sense of it. They were literally walking me through it while streaming my screen if I got sent solo and I still couldn't comprehend it. I've watched 5 guides now and I still don't get it. I've never needed more than a couple pulls to understand a mechanic in this game, I'm going crazy trying to figure it out.
@@beeman4266lol being sent is the easiest part in my opinion. If your guardian is holding a shape, you need to start by matching that shape on the walls. to do that, you would kill the knights which drop shapes, and deposit those shapes into each respective guardian holding that same shape. if everyone did that part right, all 3 solo players will have 2 of their own shape showing on the wall. next you wanna disperse your 2 shapes, to the other 2 guardians. if your guardian is holding a circle, and you see 2 circles flashing on the wall, then you would kill knight, take 1st circle, dump into square, then kill knight, take 2nd circle, and dump into triangle. doing so will allow all three solo guardians to have one of each shape (2 on the wall, and the one that your guardian is holding. now all you have to do is kill both knights, and pick up both shapes, forming into a 3d shape. so if your guardian is holding a circle, and you gave both your circles to other 2 solo players. then you should have a triangle and square flashing on the wall, kill both knights, pick up triangle and square, and wait to leave.
The Witness DPS phase might be the best Destiny experience one could go through. It just seems like great fun. Im broke so i dont have this DLC yet but once i get it im definitely gonna do the raid, or at least try. And this is the guide ill be watching over and over again so i can understand the fourth encounter.
thank you, most of the guides for previous raids only ever explained the role they took on during the raid leaving the rest of the roles up to question!
Some rules for the first encounter: Minotaurs spawn in the first or second room, killing this Minotaur sends a hydra to the opposite room. These hydras control the opening of the door to the next room for the opposite team. It will generally be 3 rooms to traverse through for each team before being beckoned back to the center, which always occurs after the overload Minotaur is killed. Whichever team does not receive the overload must wait in their locked room until the overload is killed to return mid. The process repeats again when the tormentor is killed. When the second run of clearing rooms is completed by killing the second overload, the team with the normal Minotaurs powered plate will turn on, meaning they can start before the tormentor is killed. The team with the overload must kill the tormentor before their powered plate switches on. When closing pillars, anyone can shoot the center diamond, but someone with resonance must stand on the plate to successfully close it, hope this helps
Imma be honest man, as a returning player who stopped playing after witch queen and just came back a few weeks ago, watching your guide is good, assuming I can find a raid team that isn't going to insta-kick if I don't have x-amount of clears or a resume of past raid clears.
if you still havent found a squad fireteam as 2 or 3 teaching parties going still, and if all else fails just make your own listing. should take 15 minutes to get into a run
For the second encounter, these mini bosses like shield phalnx, wizard, etc. will respawn if you fail to juggle the plates after you juggle more than one time. You need to kill them to enable the starting plate again. This can also change the symbol from the tower so it is recommended for both players to hold different resonance so you can switch it up if you fail. Double check the symbol to ensure that it is correct. I do suggest to collect the resonance as you juggle between plates while dealing with ads as they attempt to disrupt you. These resonance spots will always yield the same shape no matter what, so coordinate with your partner which one to get.
I actually think aside from 2nd encounter it’s a pretty fun raid, especially 4th encounter, but if you just want to farm witness he’s way easier than i expected, possibly the easiest encounter of the raid funnily enough
So complicated! Bungo really cooked this one 😅 But you did a great guide bro. Have to watch it in segments multiple times so that i can go in with a full understanding! Thank you ❤
From what I can gather, my strat is gonna be complete first three encounters, then use d2 checkpoint bot (once it’s fixed) to skip straight to the witness. Encounter 4 is gonna be an LFG nightmare
Ngl it has become relatively easy when u understand the pattern of the encounter, tho I spent 2 hours teaching different people just for them to give up a few attempts in because they become overwhelmed. Can’t wait till everyone understand show simple it is to execute
@@JG54206 literally the most redundant statement ever, everything is simple once you understand it... THATS WHAT UNDERSTANDING IT MEANS. jesus. there is so much going on in encounter 4 its explanation is almost HALF of this video's length... very simple of course.
@@brilyman I said it’s not that bad once you understand it. It’s simple from the get go, it just seems complex and the way to explain it makes it seem very convoluted. In practice it’s actually not nearly as crazy as the explanations make it seem.
2nd encounter tip: All 3 sides spawn in their pyramids and spheres immediately, ignoring everything else. Once they are in, fail the passing, and just kill your taken mini boss again, and then progress normally. This lets you just do one bounce to close the conduit. Avoiding a lot of ad clear, and disk field grenades.
I’m confused on 4th encounter 42:31 you say you need to stand inside the correct shape to destroy the hand that matches the bracelet but you have a pyramid resonance and you run in the circle to destroy the hand and it still works but shouldn’t you standing in the circle have change your resonance and therefore not work in fact at 43:53 you go to do the exact same thing by going to get a pyramid resonance and running straight for the circle and it doesn’t work so I’m confused
32:05 step 7 does the two shapes you obtain the same time have to be opposite of the shape your guardian is holding or it can be any two dropped by the knights?
The idea is by following the previous steps correctly, you will always be left with the correct shapes. If you are circle, you get set up to give circle to the other two solo players while they’re giving you square and triangle. If done correctly, you shouldn’t even have the option to pick up another circle
I get the vibe from shadow's tone, certain word choices, and title lol, that this is a guide for new players. That being said, i think its important personally for specific recommendations to new playera for gear and loadouts in order to give them somehting to chase in order to improve in the raid. Experienced players dont really need this guidance but in a guide for new players i think it would be important, as if it isnt stated, it leaves them to not know what is good or think something have is good when it isnt. Which is fine to use mediocre stuff in the short time when learning. But its imperative to get better gear to make future runs better.
The third encounter resonance spawns along the paths the wires take. Cubes follow the path of the left starting plate, spheres middle starting plate and pyramid right starting plate.
So do the plates either have to be bouncing resonance or shut off? For instance, if you bounce it back twice each does the top level have to bounce it back right away or can they wait for you to pick up resonance before sending down?
For Second encounter in particular If anyone's having trouble staying alive, and you're on warlock, or your buddy is a warlock, they can use Speakers Sight on Prismatic or just pure Solar if you'd like But I must say healing grenade turrets totally came in clutch especially when getting back to positions after dealing damage
In 2nd encounter, you can start spawning in the resonance before going in for Stolen Favor. Just fail the relay intentionally when you have spawned in 6 total resonance per pillar, kill the punishment yellow bar and go for Stolen Favor. This way, you can focus on picking up resonance since adds spawn in after getting Stolen Favor.

for the fourtb encounter can you skip the step of having all of the same symbol on the wall and just go straight to have the two that are not in your guardians hands
Great guide as usual Shadow Does anyone know an easier way to identify the arms without using colours in the final encounter? I am colourblind and can't tell them apart really at all, and the symbols are also very difficult to distinguish quickly. Would love to try and figure this out so I'm not relegated to ad clear forever, plus I think shooting all 6 glyphs at once could become the strat as people get used to things.
Thank you for taking the extra time to make those graphics like showing the plates bouncing off each other. Most guides don't even bother matching the gameplay to what is trying to convey lol
For 4th encounters statues the most I can dumb it down is all 3 statues need to have one of each glyph so all 3 of those guardians need to have a circle square and triangle
Addendum for phase 2: in the first round for every phase there spawns 1 phalanx/boss type enemy for every side but you get only more of them if you fuck up the ping pong.
I found a bunch of plates, and resonates outside the encounters. I guess they may be for Catalyst or something along the lines of that... Found lore collectables also
for 4th encounter, you should have put up a diagram when you said "dunk them in a clockwise order from your own statue" because that is just confusing, what if my guardian's statue is in the middle? Clockwise can either be left OR right depending on which wall you're facing...
As someone who doesn't raid at all I'm definately not attempting this. I cannot wrap my head around all these mechanics. I'm just used to simpler mechanics like the wrath of the machine raid from d1
Wait to clarify for first encounter, how many sets of 2 plates are active at once? Only one set of 2 plates or 3 sets total so everyone is paired up and spawning resonance? If it’s more than one set active, how do you spawn them all? Is it related to killing tormentors?
@ShadowDestiny it's cause u didn't skip anything and gave all the info in a very good way so alot of people will understand it and not get confused I hope u continue to do more raid guides like this
At 4th encounter, do the statues change locations during the encounter? What’s stopping me from just standing in front of my statue when the witness deletes me so my ghost is right in beside my pedestal?
Hey! Great video! Two important notes/clarifications for Encounter 2 / Dissipation: 1. In order to have the Taken Blights spawn in the first place, player(s) (even just one can do this) with the Call to Reckoning buff need to enter the Boss' arena and shoot him in his head. This will spawn large Blights around the encounter (similar to the one used to start it), and a tiny taken ball above the boss' head, signifying that there's still Blights up somewhere. The player(s) with the Call to Reckoning buff need to stay in the arena until the Blights are taken out and the taken ball above his head disappears, then shoot the forehead again until it explodes, converting all Call to Reckoning buffs to Stolen Favor (regardless if you entered the arena or not, or if you died and were resurrected). If any of the said buffed players leave the arena, you will need to spawn a new set of Taken Blights. So again it is important to stay within the bounds (or just not enter if you're low on health/unsure). 2. The minibosses (Taken Wizard, Phalanx, Ogre) only respawn if someone messes up the plate bounce, and only that side will get it. This will also reroll the shape in the pillar, so if this happens make sure to double-check the shape in case you got screwed.
Ive had instances where i get teleported in to a solo room and see a blank screen. Do i go on about the same steps? I look at what im holding dont pick that one up and kill the other knight and deposit whatever that is to the one holding it?? Please im so confused on what go do when its blank

My raid team had to torture ourselves to figure out how first encounter works.
how is this possible with randoms from lfg? 😰
Did the contest mode for thirty two hours straight and got to the third encounter, Then I.
Literally fell asleep at my keyboard
I need help, on the way to the first encounter there is a totem, what is it for?
Don’t have much of a desire of this raid tbh. The only thing I’m interested in getting is the bow w Voltshot
Hey! Great video!
Two important notes/clarifications for Encounter 2 / Dissipation:
Can you tractor the witness hands when he attacks during damage phase?

the real hardest part of the raid is finding someone to let you into the raid right after contest ended because nobody wants to teach lmao
