    Hard disagree on the reticle location. It keeps your FoV more upward so you can see enemies above you and also allow you to take in your surroundings better while keeping your sights forward. 0 - No smoothing
      1 - No smoothing
      2 - Some smoothing

    Hot tip about Vsync, please read.
    Vsync does delay render timings therefore creating an input lag. But it is important to note that unless you are in native Fullscreen mode, you will be getting this delay regardless. (This means that borderless fullscreen, windowed, windowed fullscreen, all have the same delay as Vsync.)
    This is because fullscreen display API's that are in most rendering engines will render horizontally onto your screen, which is currently (Wayland renderer is working on it but doesn't support Windows systems) only possible by swapping out the render method of your systems graphical output. Windows desktops are displayed with both a horizontal & vertical rendering which is Vsync ("Vertical Synchronisation), thus, any options that render your desktop to your display whilst also displaying the game, including borderless mode, will inherently perform a vertical rendering process before displaying the image.

    • @ShiggyCompPt2
      @ShiggyCompPt2 6 месяцев назад

      From what I’m reading online, destiny 2 uses dxgi flip model. Basically windowed fullscreen will give you same performance as fullscreen

    • @comfyzenny
      @comfyzenny 6 месяцев назад

      @ShiggyCompPt2 From what I remember, it doesn't. DX11 didn't support flip natively, and it's pretty clear the game doesn't use DX12 (from when I last played). It's possible they built their own rendition of the feature for xorg display servers but I highly doubt it. Honestly, if the game ran DX12, I would recommend every PC player to circumvent it for every game you have. What a shocker of a driver it is.. I have passionate hate for DX12 lol
      edit addition: I want to note, vsync won't do much, if at all, to impact performance. It's just that by definition, enabling it doubles the time it takes to display the image, creating the sense of input lag.
      secondary edit: I read how dxgi works with its fullscreen mode switching. It does indeed have the equivalent of flip-fullscreen but it wasn't made to be represented on screen as a toggle, it was a debug-mode for engine engineers to run a fullscreen client whilst editing their work on a secondary display.
      I think it's important to share how to tell the difference of the debug/flip mode and traditional fullscreen; if you set the client to "true" fullscreen, then alt+tab, if the game window minimizes/hides, that means it's fullscreen. If the game image remains visible, then it's flip/debug mode.

    • @ShiggyCompPt2
      @ShiggyCompPt2 6 месяцев назад

      @@comfyzenny I’m aware that dx11 doesn’t use it but the devs implemented it into destiny 2. Again, from what I’ve read online, not 100% sure.
      In true fullscreen mode, the game takes priority over everything else running on your system. This doesn’t apply to other display modes. Vsync wasn’t the only way it bogged down performance. With the flip model, borderless fullscreen now gives you the same performance as true fullscreen.
      Some newer versions of ue4 use flip model. There’s also a setting within windows 11 that uses flip model whenever possible too.

    • @comfyzenny
      @comfyzenny 6 месяцев назад +1

      @@ShiggyCompPt2 I'm assuming at this point, you mean render time when you say performance. This statement claim of identical render time was shortly later proven to be a dubious claim using
      anecdotal bias evidence. Xorg desktop environment gets identical render time to flip-fullscreen because it is a fullscreen render that relies on the xorg servers output. Traditional fullscreen without vsync switches out from the xorg display server to host it's own application. This is why when you alt+tab or close a client using this method, the screen appears black momentarily.
      DirectX is fully tuned for xorg compatability and traditional fullscreen without Vsync that most games use is a work-around method of rendering what was most common with GLES based systems on now non-compatable display server softwares because MS own the entire industry and xorg is pleasant when interacting with the most common and user adapted desktop environment (Windows). In my first post, I mentioned Wayland. Wayland is a display server software that has the ability to host xorg based applications within it's server, but currently, it does so with a vertical synchronisation on the server output so that any application can use any output method and be compatable. The main topic on everyone's mind is figuring out how to allow a user to choose not to use a vsync'ed render whilst keeping mass compatability.
      You're right that newer UE4 games and Windows 11 have flip-fullscreen adopted options, but this is just applying the built-in DX12 flip option to whatever xorg rendering application is being hosted.

    • @thesingularity2030
      @thesingularity2030 6 месяцев назад

      You dont need dx12 to implement independent flip. It seems like most modern games do it now, including Destiny from the tests I've seen.

    Adding ADS sensitivity modifier is what got me in to Destiny. Having to set my sensitivity to 4 just to be able to ADS was awful. The modifier itself represents the percentage of your look sensitivity your ADS is set to. For example, if your look sens is 10, and your ADS modifier is at 0.7, that means your ADS sensitivity would be as if your look sensitivity was set to 7.

Personally, I keep this setting off, but I highly advise people to test it themselves. Overall, I would say mouse control and sensitivity are more important than this setting.

    One correction to make. This was true in the beginning months of Lightfall and will probably never be fixed because it's Bungie. Set your framerate cap to 60 because you will take more damage at higher framerates due to a physics bug or something. If Bungie ever fixed that then great, because higher framerates are preferable but this has not been fixed to my knowledge.

      That actually explains why i die by mobs more often on pc than on consoles. My pc is capable of running the game at stable 120 (average) fps/ 1440p resolution on ultra settings. However, it seems like my cpu Ryzen 5600x is not powerful enough to push my gpu rx7800xt to its limits. My gpu always stays around 60% utilisation when playing destiny 2. So, it is time to buy ryzen 7 5800x3d.

    You have the part about smoothing wrong in the video.
    Tested it now, and from what I can gather:
    The value is completely ignored if you turn off smoothing in-game.
    If smoothing is on in-game, then:
    0 - No smoothing
    1 - No smoothing
    2 - Some smoothing
    3 - More smoothing
    Higher values seem to revert to either 1 or 2.
    Lower framerates equal more smoothing, so most likely these values are how many frames the movement is smoothed over.

    Just an update on the shadow setting, the 4th encounter in the salvation edge raid needs you to have the shadow on. It allows you to see the symbols on the projector. To remove the shadow settings, you cant change it from the same place or setting the settings of the shadow higher, you have to reset the settings to default to undo removing the shadows from the text files.

    Centered reticle position is almost exclusively a disadvantage in this game outside of you simply being used to it. Visually worse recoil, gun model raised to obscure your view, less vertical focus in a game that generally wants you to look upwards.

      This just isn't true. Vsync, no matter what, creates more input lag than anything. There is a VERY good reason freesync/variable refresh came around. All the benefits of vsync without the negatives.
      Vsync has NO benefit but screen tearing, and unless your monitor is from the late 2000s to early 2010s, you won't even notice a difference as 99.9% of monitors nowadays don't even experience screen tearing unless the game is running at like 20fps, and at that point vysnc wouldn't fix anything

It’s a light red line that becomes darker red and finally turns to the red triangle when within range of the radar map. So the pale line becoming darker literally before it changes to the cone is the radar giving you early warning there is someone way out in that direction.

    I love this type of videos
    1) Chromatic Aberration, Film Grain, Depth of Field and Motion Blur are subjective settings witch should be used as a personal preference, especially its always cracks me up showing off MOTION blur in a form of a screenshots or edited effect (motion blur in destiny 2 is not THAT aggressive on foot)
    2) Reticle location should be kept below center for console players for much easier aiming and for anyone who has a feeling what guns in destiny 2 take too much of a screen estate since centered option moves weapon models higher in a player pov
    3) Full Auto Mode is accessibility option turned off by default for a reason which should be obvious for anyone who played this game
    4) Destiny 2 on PC has notoriously bad Freesyng\G-Sync support which makes lighting effects strobe and flicker if framerate goes to 30 which is EVERY cutscene, and it can stay that after cutscene ends (most notoriously this issue occurs after any Lightfall cutscene\cinematic or at a later half of Witch Queen), turning VRR off is not an option either, game will become very choppy since a lot of elements dont actually update at framerates above 60 or 90, so its best option to keep vsync active at desired framerate target and use NVIDIA Reflex to negotiate small visual latency Vsync in this game introduces (which is actually fine since D2 engine uses triple buffer vsync option)
    5) Setting screen bounds closer to center will make elements of character menu notably banner above bigger, obstructing some other elements of the screen, notably weapon description window

    Regarding number 18, if you play using an AMD graphics card, you will may want to keep Wind Impulse turned ON. There is a bug where if you set the shadow quality to anything higher than lowest while wind impulse is off, it will cause very distracting flickering with shadows on ALL vegetation. About the aiming sensitivity modifier you spoke about at 9:53.
    . I have measured out a full 360 degree turn on my mousepad and I can confirm that having it at 1.0 does not translate to the same value as "not ads-ing". Unfortunately, 1.5 doesn't even make it 1 to 1, and that's as high as it goes. I wish Bungie would either fix the description of the setting or fix the setting itself to work as it is described in game. Maybe we could shed some "light" on that, hehe.

    • @coltoncummins10
      @coltoncummins10 7 месяцев назад +1

      No game ever has it like you want it. You never want your aim sens to equal hipfire sens in regards to 360° distance. That would be bad for a fast paced game. Also, each zoom from adsing with the Traveler's Chosen (12 zoom), to Ace of Spades (14 zoom), to No Time to Explain (17 zoom), all the way to Beloved (40 zoom). All have entirely different scales, ie 0.8 Beloved would "feel faster" than 0.8 Ace of Spades. The real crime from bungie is either not having a better scaling for each zoom level or not have separate ads/zoom sens settings for like low zoom and high zoom. For example, when I use Ace of Spades or No Tine to Explain, 0.8 matches up with my hip fire of 5, pixel by pixel pretty well. However, if I use travelers chosen, 0.8 is too slow, 0.9 matches up with it pretty well. But then Beloved is too fast, but 0.7 is perfect. If I could have a low zoom of 0.8 and a high zoom of 0.7, we'd be set. Alas, 0.8 for all works well for me😊
