Wizard101 PvP Matchups Tier List!

Reuploading to fix an audio issue. Vegas hates MP3s :DDDDD
The new update is out, but I don't expect much to change about this. Fire losing Sun Serpent is pretty much the only thing there is, otherwise nothing really changed since before the update. I rated these based on how close the matchups tend to be, and all the information on the tiers are found in the tier list itself!

That's an interesting way of viewing.
Lemme draw my conclusions from this. Considering the 2 above lines to be "even", and the 3 below lines as "win/good pairing" or "loss/bad pairing" (depending on who is above or below, for the reasons you stated):
Fire: 2W - 3E - 1L
Ice: 1W - 1E - 4L
Storm: 0W - 2E - 4L
Balance: 2W - 2E - 2L
Myth: 3W - 3E - 0L
Life: 1W - 4E - 1L
Death: 3W - 3E - 0L
So if I try to extract a tier list based on this, it would be
1- Myth
2- Death
3- Fire
4- Balance
5- Life
6- Ice
7- Storm
(Myth came on top bc it is more likely to win against balance than death is)
This confirms my suspicions and bias about myth being a top school in a normal scenario, but then it needs to be considered how myth is bad against pve and how it gets driven out of the queue because of that. Before, it was an easy thing with earthquake, now myths have this tough equation to solve without that broken answer.

LOVED this analysis - and it more or less falls in line with the ranking I posted last week, too, with the exception of Myth & Death and Fire & Balance being flipped for their own reasons. If I was throwing PvE matchups in there too it definitely would've looked a lot different. Great analysis, pinning this 🗣

Much better and much more useful than a regular tier list. I hate traditional tier lists since they rarely say anything useful or convey much meaning

What a genuinely badly designed game, If you like an MMO, and you like pvp....just play wow? i quit wiz a couple years ago for wow pvp and cringe at myself everytime i remember the pay2win wiz garbage. give it a try, just let wiz die already.
