- In preparation for Sony's big announcement, I thought we'd talk about some of the rumored features of the Sony A7IV. Sorry, I butchered the name of the camera a few times. These damn camera names are confusing.

Questions:
- Will this release drop the price of A7C?
- Looking at buying my first camera to start making RUclips videos, possible streaming, Zoom meetings, general social media pics.
- Deciding between A7c and Blackmagic Pro 6K. I was looking at maybe saving up and waiting for the A7IV depending on price. I was looking at A7c + f1.8 20mm G-lens. Do you think this would provide great clarity and sharpness? I will be learning Davinci Resolve studio (free version) and adding a basic LUT for colour grading (at least while I’m learning). I’m using an older MacBook Pro 2017 w/Touch Bar. I think A7c would be best, and I don’t like the BlackMagic because it doesn’t have a flip out screen.
Any help would be appreciated.
All great questions. You don't need a crazy expensive camera for just starting out. I still use the A7iii (essentially same as a7c) and I've been a cinematographer for 8 years.
Invest in some nice lenses and learn the craft. Then, in a few years when there's 100 new cameras to choose from, you should upgrade.
The a7iii has a 24, not a 12 megapixel sensor. Maybe you meant the a7s?
I did mean the A7siii. I tried to throw some text on the screen to correct myself there. My bad!

Did you shoot this on the A7III in SLOG? It definitely has a fantastic 10-bit look to the grade. Although the Super 35 crop in 4K60 is a bummer for wide shots 10-bit 4K 60 is the bar I've been waiting for so guess I'll be eating beans and rice for the next year. Solid vid, subscribed.

100% ok with giving up 4k 120 -- especially with plugins like twixtor that kinda work well

I agree! I’ve got 4k120 on the FX6 and find myself using it VERY rarely.
@@josiemarin6 third party plug in that lets you do slow mo even if you didn't shoot at the correct frame rate

@@TimmyLodhi It's certainly not because I don't like the A7 series I'm just more interested in the a7siii and I'm not all that thrilled with the prospect of a 32mp sensor on the 4. Great video though well done
@@SamuelJamesVideos I totally agree. I was VERY close to getting the A7siii but figured I would wait until they announced this one first. This one just happens to fit into the price category I was hoping for a bit more.

I wonder if the lowkey dual native iso is the same range as the a7iii or if it will be more similar to the a7siii. All in all really excited too
I imagine it'll be the same as the A7siii and FX series. Seems like it would be easier for them to produce them that way.

What is you Slog 2 pp set up?
A couple of small updates from today..
1. The price is looking to be $2498 USD
2. The exposure compensation dial will be re-programmable.
3. Separate (mini) dial for stills/video/SQ Mode
4. It has pretty terrible rolling shutter
5. 4K60 will have a S35 Crop
It will be too expensive.
I do wish it was closer to $2000.
