Yes, I agree!! I can’t wait either
This is so exciting to see and made my day! I am definitely starting strawflowers earlier this year! Probably in a couple of weeks, but it’s cool that here in NYC that we can grow cool season crops a lot earlier 🎉
Yes!! It's really cool, we basically get a whole new season before summer. I learned that kind of by accident last year and was impressed on how well it worked! Hopefully your strawflowers will do very well too!! ☺
So happy to see your channel kicking off!
Thank you!! I’m very happy this video is doing well 😊😊
I am catching up on your videos. Way to go! you have so much going on for January. Can't wait to share goodies in spring.
Thank you!! Me too!! I hope they all do well
Good day! I just learned an amazing way to get the seeds in and control the placement.
If you take a light colored bowl, pour seeds into it. Then take a chop stick. Lick the tip, it will grab the snap dragon seeds one at a time.
I was so happy when I found this out and saw how well it works.
Nice!! Maybe I’ll try that next time. Thank you so much for sharing ☺️
Can't wait to see them grow!
Me too!! 🙌🏽
Just subd. I am doing a lot of the same varieties as you again this year. I also have great luck with Happy Frog. I had t planned on starting snaps but I love having them come summer. I’m growing only the Quattro series stock this year, because I like the cut and come again varieties. I can’t wait for spring!
So nice to hear!! Me too!! ☺️☺️☺️
Thank you so much for subscribing 💚
New subscriber ❤I’m so excited need to put my growing lights asap and start growing my seeds thank you for the tip
You’re very welcome!!!
Love it!
Thank you!!! ☺️
Such a great variety of cool season loving flowers! I’m looking forward to learning more about starting flowers from seed from you, definitely need more practice. It’s a bonus that you are a couple of zones warmer so I get to learn from you before starting seeds. 😊
Thank you!! Let me know how it goes! What flowers you are planning to start from seed?
@@MarisGardenandKitchen For cool season flowers, definitely snapdragons. I actually saved seeds from my garden this year since they did so well. Calendula, which I think I am going to winter sow along with the Bachelor Buttons, and I have a pansy mix from Hudson Valley Seed I have been wanting to try. Also really want to try poppies again. I always have great germination but struggle getting them established beyond that so I am excited to see your process! 😊
Super excited for you❤. I failed growing poppies last year. Definitely going try again.
Thank you!! Hopefully they will do better for us this time 🤞🏽
I needed this video because I needed the confidence in growing poppies
That nice dear
Thank you!
You can direct sow Icelandic poppy in February, and it will sprout and reseed.year after year.
Thank you! Maybe I’ll try that too :)
When did you start your sweet pea flowers? Did you start them inside? How do you start them in the TP rolls?
I started them last fall, in November I believe. I just added the sweetpeas in the TP rolls with some potting soil and left them outside to germinate because they like to germinate in the cold. Once they got a little bigger, I transplanted them to the garden (in December)
Thank you!@@MarisGardenandKitchen
Direct seed the poppies outside now.
Great 👍 where's the list of the flowers?
The list is really big, you can check out all of the varieties on this website here: thegardenersworkshop.com/product-category/seeds/cool-season-seeds/all-cool-season-seeds/
That's the shop from Lisa Mason Ziegler, she came up with this concept and is the author of the "Cool Flowers" book.
She has aa lot more information on the website too if you're interested on learning more!
@@MarisGardenandKitchen thanks
My Icelandic poppies never came back. I’m in 6b (sw Michigan) they were marked a perennial. 😡
Mine was market as a perennial too! I don’t think the ones I planted last year will come back either 😂
…also, always check the seed count before ordering…seed companies have gotten very greedy.
Yes, I’ll definitely start doing that
🙌
Thank you for watching! :)
