Another good way to brighten up an entire room would be is to a good decent size hollow cardboard tube and wrap the entire thing with these light strips! And then hang it from the ceiling in the middle of the room with screws and invisible fishing string! I just got a large one in the mail that is about 57 1/2 inches long and 3 1/2 inch wide that held two RGB light sticks i ordered recently! Thanks for giving me this idea to put it to good use! I was gonna throw it away recently, but decided to hold on to it cuz i figured i could use it for something. Now i know! Thanks again! 😁👍

A good blacklight shouldn't be visibly "bright" at all. They should emit within the UVA range & ideally outside the visible spectrum. You can get LED bulbs with a 365 nm peak, which is awesome, but the vast majority sold are cheaper and peak around 395-401 nm and look "bright".

mtlw299792458 would do u recommend lighting for a large barn sized space? Bulbs or strips or both?

You could always use the cheap-end LEDs (390-415 nm range), it would just mean everything is lit up in purple.
I've seen LEDs advertised as emitting in the 365 nm wavelength range and these would be a great option. Expect to pay somewhat more. Yes, would be great combined with high-power flouro tubes.
There's an excellent description of bulb types on Wikipedia: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blacklight
      Good luck!

Best effect with uv is indirect focus

Well 400nm fluoresces brighter but 365nm. Is near invisible. The 400 to me makes alot of visible violet/ purple.
Im thinkin small strip close to 400nm and big strips of 365 ,355, 370?

UV LEDs do not put out as much UV light as the florescent bulbs. The LEDs a appear brighter. This is because the LEDs pool it out alot of visible light that we can see that is not UV light. The florescent bulbs put out very little visible light. If you were using the 3 foot florescent bulb to do the comparison the glow would be on par. However it would be far darker in the room. Rather than with the leds. I'm not trying to harp on ya. Just figured I would inform you. So your not putting out false information to your subscribers.

Thanks for sharing. That being said, your tutorial certainly inspires but you really left out some critical info. Actual name & place to purchase connectors. The power source?

Dont drink glowing anything. Those things shouldnt react with a uv light and fluoresce.. if they do then thats not a good thing.. same thing if your pee glows, go see a doctor.. take a picture first then go see a dr.. i remember one time i had a buddy say he thought it was funny that he started sweating green.. told him to see a dr and turned out he had some type of condition that could have been fatal..

LEDs are not great black lights. Go get a 400W mercury vapor blacklight bulb, if you want true blacklight that's also powerful.

You said under 20$.. 1799 and 6 what ever is over 20$. And you are not really making anything. Every person who wants to spend over 20$ can get those supplies and that is basically what the directions say. And holy shit we need scotch tape too? Thats another 10000 dollars?!?!? False advertising! You make me mad. BTW how was your glow party?
