The worst part about TLK is that I could probably turn my brain off and enjoy the bayhem if it weren’t for the fact that the aspect ratio changes every other shot
It's the only film where turning your brain off still doesnt help
Yeah TLK wasn't a great movie
that's what Bay does, he hide action behind shakey cams and weird angles. Or in that case distracting aspect ration changes.
And the fact that there is NOTHING enjoyable about The Last Knight. The beginning of the movie is fine, but then it dips hard. In comparison, AOE starts weak and then picks up pace in the second half. The action in TLK is not fun, the designs suck, Dinobots barely make an appearance, etc.
I refuse to turn my brain off in a movie.
My favorite thing about TLK Barricade is that his toy has knuckledusters with “protect” and “serve” engraved into them. He absolutely owned the dirty cop vibe like no other version of the character before or sense.
Oh yeah, love how gleefully evil he is.
Last knight barricade was actually the figure that got me fully back into collecting back in 2017

Onslaught looks like if mr krabs strapped a bunch of vending machine parts to him then proceeded to pick up the first gun he saw and travel to the front line which would explain how he got killed off so fast

@@quakywacky8048 hes not even evil prowl, he just use police car sometimes as altmode, and there plenty of autobots who do the same: Streetwise, Clampdown, Deep Cover and maybe more? My favourite Barricade is WFC Barricade that somehow doesnt refers to G1 or 2007 Barricade, he looks so good, i wish his design was re-used somewhere else.
Even us Bayverse fans try not to acknowledge The Last Knight.

I honestly really like Nitro Zeus. Because he’s just Shockwave but the average uncle from the 1970s. Also, that weird bumblebee design is from AOE, whenever he scanned Stingers alt mode.
That's weird cause it only comes up when I look up this movie.
The elephant who wanted to be Sauron (great joke btw) was created when Galvatron, at the end of Age of Extinction, was the sole survivor of the man-made transformers he had slowly taken control of to fight the Autobots. Even leaving with the line "We shall meet again, Prime, for I am reborn."
and in the next one, without any explanation, he's Megatron again, has a fusion cannon, battle mask, giant fuck-off sword (that sword is pretty badass though, looks like something straight out of Dark Souls or Doom), not even the same alt-mode, or colors, or any indication that this is even the same person. The only constant is that Frank Welker voiced both.
all this said, I still think TLK Megatron is the coolest Movie Megs design so far (pls rotb)
He does look better than the other movie versions, even if he doesn't look like him self even a little.

Sadly, Hasbro currently favour the G1 Datsun body approach, given the WFC had two versions of him in Siege/Earthrise and the more the Evergreen form's gotten as of writing is an Authentics figure

Even as someone who loves the Bay movies, this movie was where I drew the line. It just does so much wrong and almost nothing right that it made me glad we're finally getting a true reboot with ROTB. Let's hope the new movie is at least decent to revive some good will for the TF movies
Are you sure about that reboot? I'd been hoping for it, but then they went out of their way to use the bayBee should-be-Armada-Hot-Rod camaro again, and mass-shifting arm guns instead of actual guns, and it sounds a whole lot like Unicron is being set up as the BBEG (again) as teased in The Last Insult here...

The worst part of megatron was that he was voiced by frank welker, and he wasn’t in the cast according to Google, I bet once he realized it was from Michael bay he wanted to be left out of the cast.
What's even funny he played Soundwave and Grindor and got credited for both of those roles.

I just realised something. TLK Nitro Zeus is just the Bayverse version of Energon Shockblast: Versions of Shockwave with different names and personalities in Unicron-centered media.

I think TLK Barricade was what if we took cool cop and mixed it with a transformer and made it an evil henchman. Personally I think it would have been cool if the producers and writers made him do what Prime Knockout did and change teams.
I think that's exactly what they were going for, and in IDW he didn't switch sides but he did go neutral.
Hot Rod is the only design from the Micheal Bay movies I like. He actually looks like a Transformer and not a mangled clusterfuck of scrap metal. I might buy the Studio Series figure of him.
What about Barricade. And yes with a bit of Tweaking he could pass for a Regular Cybertronian.

I’ll never understand that mindset, shouldn’t Hasbro and the filmmakers WANT us to become invested in the transformer characters so that we’ll want to buy the damn toys? AKA the reason why these films exist in the first place? It’s not like they’re selling action figures of all the forgettable human characters in these awful films, so why not focus on the characters from the actual toy line so people will give enough of a shit to buy the merchandise? XD
P.S. Hasbro seriously needs to just make an animated transformers film already, maybe then we can get transformers who actually look like transformers and, god forbid, story arcs and character focus on the actual alien robots instead of the obnoxious humans.

Something I remember reading which sums up the hell of designing anything in the Bayformers movies was that originally Megatron in this was supposed to have a dragon alt mode and apparently Bay came up and said "He's a jet now. Don't change the robot." And they just had to do that. And for Optimus and Megatron he apparently just walked in one day and said "Put red on both their faces." And when asked what reason he told the artists to think of one. I think he was actively loathing making these films at a certain point and wanted everyone else to loathe making them as well.
I feel much the same, He's always made his contempt for the Franchise clear.

You wanna know something that screws with the lore even more? In the room where that one guy I can't remember the name of is showing off all the historical events of the Transformers (Just before the scene of Bumblebee in WW2) you can see Ironhide as a GMC topkick next to a pirate ship

Even though I still like the first movie trilogy designs for both Optimus and Bee, the Knight design would have to be my least favorite. I mean, it kinda looks cool in my opinion, It's just the thing that he doesn't even look like an actual transforming robot at all. And besides, was the Knight motif even necessary
And I actually dig TLK Megatron's design, tbh. Makes him feel more like his younger self during his gladiatorial days

I wish I bought the original Last knight Barricade toy, I considered it but didn’t have enough money at the time. I love both Barricade designs in the movies but the DOTM one I had as a kid has just magically disappeared. Also funny thing is, Nitro Zeus is just a huge Shockwave fanboy.
Yeah I kind of wish I had that thing too. The first time I ever saw it was on Vangelus's show and I didn't really care then but that was before I got back into the Transformers.

@@PerspectiveEnd Look up his fight with Optimus, he gets his wing/doors ripped off, and at the end they go flying back to him, plus in the beginning of the movie, he falls apart and comes back together after the soldiers show up
This movie may have a ton of flaws, but by far my personal BIGGEST gripe was how underused the dinobots were.
You know how the dinobots were absent in the first half of AOE (apart from a brief shot of one of them, if I remember right) only to appear in the latter half? Well, it's the opposite in this one.
Not only were two of them gone, but the other two only get a few action scenes in the first half, then disappear for the rest of the film. Didn't even return for the climax. They've also apparently been downgraded from savage warriors to mere junkyard dogs but I honestly would've forgiven that if they only had MORE screentime. Also, baby dinobots did nothing for me. Won't even bother questioning their existence.
Yeah they really didn't want to do anything with the Dinobots in that movie.
It's clear that Bay Especially doesn't like the Dinobots.

It's what people vote for, and what they seem to have voted for is G1 Season 2.
So, the last action heavy Transformers movie before Rise of The Beasts. Before the eventual release of ROTB I wanted to tell you my personal biggest concern. My biggest fear for the transformers franchise and fandom is that casual audiences who love their bay-splosion and bay-hem wanted only one version of transformers which is real life blockbuster action movies. I was thinking that the casual audiences who love bay-splosion and bay-hem will reject the upcoming (rumoured) theatrical release animated transformers movie because of their mindset of thinking cartoons are only for kids and wanted transformers to be nothing more than Real Life Action Blockbuster Movie. I fear when casual audiences finally got the transformers they want which lead to resurgence of transformers at the box office then when the new animated movie released it's possible it didn't get the collective box office that Paramount wanted which lead transformers to be nothing more than Real Life Action Blockbuster Movie.
I hope everyone including me and you can still liked the things we liked without getting pick on or bullied for liking things in their Perspective are made ONLY for kids.
I have not heard of the rumors of an Animated movie? Lets just hope they only reject either movie if they are bad, and embrace them if they are good, and they don't do it vice versa.
I hated this film for ruining Nemesis Prime.
Optimus gets slapped by Bay's version of the Quintesons and gets a red face mark makes him Nemesis when he should've been-
A. A clone of Optimus but decided to predict the WFC trilogy by making Optimus and Nemesis the same character,
(Tho Bay's Optimus is pretty much Nemesis just fighting for the "good side".)
B. Had his black and teal color scheme.
If they can make duplicates of Blackout and other transformers, Why didn't they make a Nemesis version of Optimus? It would've been cool to see a much more terrifying version of this version of Optimus, but they made "Nemesis" go on a treasure hunt to find some stick.
I wasted 2 hours watching this film and I haven't even finished it.
That's always the cheapest lamest way to do it. Nemesis should NEVER just be a basic Optimus faction switch.

Hello, I know this is a bit random, but I found core class Soundwave and Shockwave on Amazon for 19 euro (20 dollars) each. Is it worth it?
No. Not Werf. Wait for the Soundblaster repaint of Soundwave.
The alien bumblebee is from AOE. Also loved the roasts. here are my thoughts on the designs:
AOE/TLK Optimus/Nemesis Prime: horrid design like the rest of AOE
TLK Megatron: everyone knows who he is from his first scene, despite his design and voice being more like Galvatron
Mohawk: agree
Nitro Zeus: his head is shockwave, but his body is a KSI Boss's
Canopy: no sympathy for non-transforming yellow Long Haul
Daytrayder: don't forget his concept head, more of a freakish nightmare than the final head
Quintessa: agree. Also, she doesn't look like the creators from the last film
Infernocus: agree. Also, he's unimportant other than giving Leatherface Prime a chance to mass murder again
Hot Rod: I love this design. Change the head and the colour, remove the guts and change the location of the autobot symbol, and he can fit in with the bumblebee characters
Barricade: he died in DOTM, but Bay forgot he killed him. Otherwise, love the design. I think it inspired the evergreen design of the character
Onslaught: dies after one minute of unimportant screentime
Bumblebee: other than AOE, each design changes his nipples
Guardian Knights: lazy. They say 12 form dragonstorm. Several of a group of 12 guarding Merlin's staff in their ship are killed, but all 12 appear later because Bay is an idiot and because of the gimmick toys.
Bulldog: how can robots have dementia, and why did you remember him despite him having a minute of screentime?

Also when I watched the movie in theaters, I came in with the expectations of more appearance and actions from the dinobots, given their introduction at the end of AoE. Was disappointed when the movie concluded and I’m not sure or remembered which between the 2 did they appeared less in

That's so low it's in the dirt, and they say Windfall apples are the ones that have worms in them.
That bumblebee you couldn't figure out is the rescan he took in Age of Extinction. He was pissed about KSI trash talking him, saying that Stinger is better than Bumblebee in every way. So in a fit of jealousy, he scanned a new Camaro and modeled his robot mode to look like Stinger. Like why try to actively look like something you hate?

I am honestly shocked to see how many people who “grew up” with these movies hate them but still love Transformers. For G1ers it makes sense because nostalgia might win out even if the modern movies were good, but how the younger fans overcame these crappy movies to give Transformers a chance surprises me.
I mean a lot of younger people insist that these were good, and others at least it was a gateway into more of the franchise.
To answer what happens to the cast, most of the decepticons dies off early but barricade, nitro, and megatron live till the end then nitro gets his head blown off. The yellow long haul with garbage was gonna be an original subway car design but was scrapped he still died within 10 minutes of him appearing. The rest are alive or background characters
Unicorn is now a thing in the bay films and is the earth which I hate that idea cause we’ll probably never see unicron in the films cause they wouldn’t have him transform and kill everyone, also cybertron is a bill ball of rubble held together with string floating towards earth and crashes into earth for a few minutes how that doesn’t mess up the solar system or the earths rotation idk but it’s just so random.
The humans are what humans do in a transformers film the only one I would say is cool is the old guy, he’s the wise old man that knows about the transformers and what’s going on with the planets but near the end just pulls out a gun and takes shots at megatron then gets blasted
The film is a cluster **** of ideas cause they wanted to do knights, WW2, and planet stuff and decided to mix them all together into this mess we have, I wish they would’ve done the second end for the 3rd film where at the end after killing sentinel megatron and Optimus make a truths and the auto bots stay on earth and the decepticons move to rebuild cybertron it could’ve spared us from the remaining 2 films

Yeah for some reason they tried to pack as much into one movie as possible, I think to start a cinematic universe.
What makes you see these movies so different from other installments in the franchise like say the unicron trilogy there they also designs and mismatch names differently from G1?

I plan to roast it eventually yes.
And what makes it different is the UT was a Pre-existing Animation. In order to protect the copyrights on the names Hasbro has to use the names in media every now and then.
Since the show already existed, and they needed to protect the names they just slapped them on random characters during the dubbing process, because it's not like they could just reanimate the show so they had the correct designs.
Being that the movies were made from the Ground up to use those names from the beginning, then they should look like the characters.
I am 100% surprised, no alt mode thrown into the roasts.
And here's an idea: do a Soundwave special
I mean for the most part they are just cars, and I did roast Ironhide and Optimus in the first roast ever.
TLK Onslaught and Barricade are definitely the best designs for this “movie”

Infernucus is not at all important in the movie, he is just a big dude who fought for quintessa and right before he died he's revealed to be a combined form of five random dudes.

Movie hotrod is a cool design, but I must point out it’s cool separated from the name hotrod
It is at least not one of the ugliest ones, with some tweaking it could be some other character.
there is one. singular thing I like about this movie (i ahvent seen it lol) and its 'megatrons' sword, it looks alot like an african executioner sword of some kind and its a strange unique design that would probably look much cooler held by a better character

I only got 4 movie toys, and 2 I ave away. I only kept Steelbane (I'm a sucker for dragons) and Megs, and I renamed Megs "Blackguard" seeing him as a flat-out jerkoff hanging with Nemesis Prime and Rodimus Unicronus. Asshole crew!

I'm glad you agree on ROTB, so many people haven't seen the interviews or other non-trailer content. Especially since they're doing the oh-so-common black/brown representation as a focus of the movie. Nothing at all against races of any kind, but we don't want this in our TRANSFORMERS movies. We want giant robots being interesting and fighting each other.
I don't need humans in my Transformers movies at all, I'd be perfectly happy with no one in them.

@@PerspectiveEnd there was an interview with Anthony Ramos where he talked about how excited he was to show foreign cultures in the film. Then in another one Steven said that the black representation was what made him choose the rap song for the trailer. And on top of that the music composer for the movie is a rapper

@@PerspectiveEnd Also for S4 Animated, you not got going believe this but, several of the characters, Prime, Ratchet and Bee were supposed to have their movie color schemes, even Optimus expressed disgust when Alpha Trion gave him flames for his victory over defeating the decepticons in S3

prowl was gonna appear in tf1 but the writers had the idea of an evil police car, people were hoping prowl appeared in rotf, dotm, aoe (he appeared in aoe toyline), tlk, and the bumblebee movie, people are hoping he appears in rotb and its sequels, along with appearing in the cybertron prequel, tlk sequel, and the angel manuel soto movie

Worst part for me about Last Knight is that it’s just a collection of ideas that should be cool but don’t mesh together. Some ideas could make for an entire movie.
Case in point The Knights of Iacon. Just try and tell me the concept of the King Arthur and the Knights of the Round fighting alongside the knights of Cybertron as brothers in arms isn’t so ridiculous that it circles back to being awesome.
And Bumblebee fighting in WW2? More of that please! That’s like one step closer to adapting Hearts Of Steel!
The Witwiccans? Eh sounds like something Sector 7 should’ve been from the start.
But these ideas just aren’t well used in the movie.

Man, I always love how Bayfans defend the designs with all the cabling and stuff exposed with "ThAT's hOw a rOBot loOkS LiKE!"
No, it's not: robots have casing to prevent the more delicate parts (aka cables and internal gears) to hang out/get tangled/being damaged, Bayformers are just like naked skinless morons running on a battlefield where people shoot rounds the size of a human torso hoping not to get shot!

Also (I am really adding a lot of addendums here, huh?) what is the point of giving flame decals to Optimus BUT TAKING THEM AWAY FROM HOT ROD?
Seriously, what the hell? Taking away the flaming decal from the hotheaded autobot and giving them to the (supposedly) wise leader? And why does he have time powers? Hot Rod in this movie could have been literally any other autobot and it would have fit much better.
This move was just horrendous, basically the cinematic rendition of a stroke.

Megatrons design in this movie is actually a lot better and way cooler than the first movie design and I absolutely love his battle mask.
I mean it is for sure better than that old one, though it's even less Recognizable as the character without being told.
Emgo has actually said on multiple occasions that Last Knight Megatron is his favorite Megatron design of all time
Well if there was ever a reason to not trust his opinion.
The only problem with TLK was it was GOING to be good, but the critics got to MB and made him cut like an hour and a half of the movie, making it a choppy, "what the fuck is even happening" mess.
I sincerely don't believe it was ever going to be good. I've seen other movies in the Franchise, and at best they are only every BARLY coherent.

I think it’s safe to say that TLK is easily the worst Transformers movie to date. Something even Bayverse fans can agree with. This is the movie that single-handedly destroyed Bay’s entire TF timeline, and he somehow thought it would be fine.
Out of this movie, there’s probably only 4 characters I was actually interested in, 2 by their personalities, and 2 by their designs.
Going off of personalities, I like Nitro Zeus and Berserker. Nitro Zeus just seems more like an evil Whirl, but voiced by John DiMaggio. And then we have Berserker. Sure he’s just DOTM Crankcase with an X on his chest, but the idea of a brutal, bloodthirsty, and downright horrific Decepticon seems cool. If only Berserker was actually used as a threat in the movie instead of being used as a teasing cameo.
As for designs I like, it has to go to Megatron and Barricade. As flawed as Megatron’s TLK design is, it’s still the closest looking to a proper Megatron design we’ve ever gotten in the Bayverse. Like, seriously, was the arm-mounted fusion cannon so hard to do for movie 1 Megatron? Or any other Megatron design before AOE? It’s literally one of his defining traits. And as for Barricade, I have the same opinion as you. He looks better than his previous design, and he has some cool weapons. And after having seen the Evergreen design based around TLK Barricade, I’d be happy to see that design in future iterations of the character.
And that’s all I really have to say about TLK. There’s only so many good things you can try and pick apart from an abomination of a movie.
I don't know RotF was Extremely EXTREMELY bad, and I've actually heard more hate for AOE from Bay Fans than TLK.
People at least have good things to say about NitroZeus and the Decepticon crew from that... That was John Dimaggio? I thought for sure that was the guy who voiced Hercule?
I mean yeah he's got the Arm Bound Fusion cannon, but that's like really it? And yes Barricade looks actually sick, he showed us what the Transformers COULD look like in Live Action.
I actually don't mind movie prime design but I'm so happy that you liked TLK barricade and can you give me your option on transformers prime Optimus Prime with the star saber design and Megatons. and the roast on the movies are so true.
I plan on doing roasts on those eventually, Prime just needs to get voted into being the next one by the audience, currently they voted for G1 season 2 being the one to do.

hot rod/rodimus prime was gonna appear in tf1 and dotm but was cut (he appeared in the dotm), he was gonna appear in tf4 but also got cut
shockwave was gonna appear in tf1 but was cut (he appeared in the tf1 video games), shockwave also made a little cameo in rotf
when we saw daytrader's vehicle mode people thought daytrader was gonna be wreck-gar (looking like animated wreck-gar)
when we saw the freightliner truck galvatron turned into in aoe people thought the freightliner truck galvatron turned into was gonna be nemesis prime, ultra magnus (because of the blue lights), scourge (looking like rid 2001), or motormaster (because of concept art)
