tbh i struggle with guitar mostly because i dont know how to create my own melodies and how to find connections to chords or notes i play
and also because i dont know where each individual note is on the fretboard, i have to always use a stupid technique to find the right note i want to play

Perhaps try learning the notes on the E and A strings first ( if you play in standard tuning ) :) good luck

Hi Lukas, I have a question about fast picking technique. With the standard 3 note per string motion I understand that the proper technique is DUD UDU DUD etc in either direction with alternating pick slanting. However, I have somehow developed a technique of DUD DUD DUD etc for going from low to high frequency strings and UDU UDU UDU etc for going from high to low frequency strings with neutral pick slanting. I don't really know how I developed this as I taught myself to play fast but is this bad technique for progress of should I be ok.

Isn’t this just economy picking instead of alternate picking

This is Economy picking it’s a mix of sweep picking with alternate picking
