Rusty Cooley capabilities are far beyond Tremonti´s. The major strength of Tremonti is song writing. As far for his leads, he is very limited and ordinary.
why are people talking about that guthrie govan,comparing him to Cooley is like comparing a lamborghini to a robin reliant! Guthries techniques are so primitive compared to Cooleys, no other guitarist comes close!
That's what impresses kids. Hence the amount of people on RUclips hailing Tremonti as a 'God', which he is most definitely not. He lives in wanky pentatonic land and is no better than Hammett is in that regard.

In terms of playing with the backing track, I think Mark's parts fit much better than Rusty's
