Ahh the lake effect snow machine! That 1st CSX intermodal looked like Q110(Bedford Park, IL-North Bergan, NJ). Conrail refered to that train as TV-10. Good video!
Beyond awesome, Frank! You got some mad skills, dog! I sure wish my vids would get as many hits as yours. Love that Pine Jct. railfanning, especially those trains bouncing over the switch to the Pine Yard lead. You'll get a train hitting the ground there one day. Five stars and Fav'd.
The unit leading was an SD38-2, and at that location, it's upgrade. CN gets as much as they can out of their units unfortunately. The coil train is going to ArcelorMittal in East Chicago's Indiana Harbor. You can see great portions of the facility and harbor in my Hick Tower/ CP502 videos.
Gary is the best and they have low gas than here in the city lol but they have alot of trains.Especially at the ford plant there are just so many autoracks.
That was one LONG train for only one SD40-2. Must be down grade or it wouldn't be going that fast with one unit. Where are those unprotected steel coils going. Is there a tinning plant nearby where they make galvanized steel?
Best snow train video i have seen so far! well done!
Simply awesome. An awesome day of railfanning. Thanks for sharing.
Awesome video Frank! I loved how those trains were kicking up snow.
