In this video I repair and refurbish an oak dresser found dumped on the side of a road. I worked hard to give it a new look and a second chance in the world. I used a technique called cerusing to create texture and depth to the piece.

I enjoy watching your videos (have done since you began posting). You have progressed so well I find myself learning something each time. Excellent transformation of piece.
Thank you Frank. I’m so glad you learned something as I am also learning so much on this journey. I really appreciate your support and I always look for your comment. ❤️
Fantastic transformation. That effect you got for the top and draw fronts is stunning.
Thank you so much 😊
I'm truly amazed that furniture is just left dumped outside. I've never seen furniture tossed out like that. People here must dispose of unwanted furniture properly or maybe they hang on to things.
One man's trash is another (wo)man's treasure!
Absolutely 💯 thanks for watching 🫶🏼
People throw things out like this because they don't know what to do with it and to them it looks like junk. You have the skills to refurb it so as you said, your win, their loss.
Very true. 😊
Thanks for watching 🙌
Loving your show
I’m so happy you are 🫶🏼
👏👏👏👏👏

This was a great rescue project! I love the two tone finish with stained body and the shellac and wax finish on the drawers. Cheers!
Thank you so much Laura. That’s very kind of you. 🫶🏼
Beautiful!!
Thank you! Much appreciated 😊
Beautiful job!
Thank you so much ☺️
Great informative video with gentle humour. I enjoyed watching it. Subscribed.
Thank you so much. Welcome aboard! 😊
Beautiful
Thank you! Cheers!
Omg this is beautiful and you from Seaton Carew fab, near me here in Sunderland. Those handles are gorgeous. Dogs are fabulous. Well done.
Hi Tracey, yess 🙌 Sunderland is just up the road. Thank you for watching my video. Much appreciated. Hope to see you on the next one. ❤️
Great job. I love the rustic look of this oak dresser. Good choice on the handles, they look vintage ❤
Thank you that is much appreciated. I was nervous about the handles. ❤️
You could have used wood putty to fill the holes. It makes a more sturdy base to drill into. Good job though.
Excellent advice. Thank you. I’ll definitely try wood putty next time. Much appreciated.
The piece looks amazing. I don't know that I would have thought to do that. But I'm so glad that you did. And by the way you have a beautiful voice that is great for media
Thank you so much. That’s very nice of you to say. ❤️
😍

Some of my favourite projects are the rubbish ones 😂 everyone calls me a skip rat. Thank you for watching my videos. I really appreciate it. ❤️
Just found your channel I like it , so will be following you from here on good job .

What a transformation!! Great work!
Thank you very much 🙌🫶🏼
Hello again!!! You taught me something new today. I have never heard of "cerusing", but now that I've seen it, it really is beautiful!!. As always, you did a wonderful job on this restoration. The end result was just the beginning for this dresser, and it will live on for a very long time. Thank you for what you do so beautifully! Always great to see the boys. They sure love the beach! We have not had beach weather here in a very long time. It was bitterly cold with lots of snow and ice, with gusty winds. Brrrrr!! It has warmed up now, and the snow and ice have melted. Winter is not over here, but I'm thankful for the reprieve. Still no sign of my cat. If she was outside, there is no way she could have survived the brutal cold, and snow. Still hoping for a miracle, but my hopes are fading fast. Take care, and give the boys a hug for me. Hugs to you, too!!
Hello Karen, hope you’re well. Thanks for watching. I’m happy that you learned about cerusing. I just love the texture it creates.
We’ve had some awful storms here and 100mph winds. I am ready for spring to arrive so I can work outside more.
So sorry you haven’t seen Fluffy. Cats are survivors so I’m sure you’ll get your miracle.
Hugs from me and the boys ❤️
Good find, lovely job 😊
Thank you so much 😊
I love this little solid oak dresser. I'm grateful you rescued it and gave new life to it, but I'm not really a fan of the technique you used or the liming wax. Kudos to you for all your work though. ❤
Hi Kim. Yeah I think this technique is an acquired taste as it produces quite a weathered look. Thanks for watching 🫶🏼 Hope you are well.
I think this is my favorite piece yet. It is genuinlu stunning. I do have a question. I grew up in Southern California very close to the beach. I miss it so terribly. How is it that you are kucky enough to have that bug expanse of beach al.oat to yourself with your dogs? I am officially jealous, lol. Love your work so much.
It’s just a small beach called Seaton Carew so it’s always pretty quiet apart from other dog owners. I do love it. It’s certainly my happy place and nobody can say the word “beach” in front of of my boys, they literally jump all over you 😂 oh Southern California sounds like an absolute dream.
Thank you for watching ❤️
For Something that Looked like You picked it out of a pile that a Tornado left behind, it's a Lovely piece! Its a little Rustic but with some Clean Line Sophistication!
Thank you. We have had some horrendous storms of late. The piece wasn’t there long thankfully as I drive past there everyday on my way to the beach. I’m like hawk eye with rubbish 😂
Молодец девушка, повезло, что попалась такая вещь замечательная
Большое спасибо. Действительно очень повезло. ❤️
Absolutely beautiful 😊
Thank you Stephanie ❤️
Absolutely amazing job!
Thank you so much 😊
Absolutely stunning great job ❤❤❤❤
Thank you so much Sheila. Much appreciated ❤️
Such a useful piece.
It really is! I was so happy it was solid oak. 🙌
Great restoration!
Thanks Nancy ❤️
I like watching your videos and especially the doggos 😊
Thank you so much. Of course the little tinkers have to be the stars ✨ of the show! 😂
A man wouldn't do better, women are more capricious, congratulations on the work.
Thank you so much for watching 🫶🏼
My personal taste is for a darker stain or dye such as walnut.
Mine too. It never used to be. I try to change things up as much as I can. ☺️
Thank you for sharing. Making your own shellac is new to me. I’ve never seen shellac chips before, do you buy them? To censure, I’ve used a white paint wash ribbing it WITH the grain and the second coat AGAINST the grain. Thanks for sharing.
Yes I bought mine from Amazon. These are the blonde flakes. You mix them with denatured alcohol.
I’m going to attempt to make my own wax too at some point. 🙌
Thank you for watching ❤️
❤stunning
Thank you so much 😊
Well my gosh. Please forgive all the typing errors in my 1st comment. Wow!
Don’t worry I made it all out just fine 🫶🏼
Very good.
Thanks very much 🙌
