Neat projects and a neat way to use cut-offs. I've used Lee Valley as a good source for rare earth magnets.

Quick projects like this are so much fun to do and so relaxing. Enjoyed hearing you mention "faceplate" and "glue blocks." I remember my excellent high school shop class 40 years ago when a faceplate and glue block were all we had. Not to mention one glue -- no choices there. Totally spoiled by the various chucks in my collection! Thanks, Carl!

I started buying seconds from a local hardwood supplier for making my off center pendants and earrings. Some of it is 1/8" thick and I glue contrasting pieces together and turn all the way through the first layer to show the second layer on pendants and then also make the edge of the first layer so thin you see a ring all the way around of the contrasting layer.
