My favorite part of Thursday (besides waking up and still here). Seeing a new Phil video.
I know that feeling!
Well said...😊 Love this guy... And the fact that I wake up every day...
Thank you, Jeff, but let's be honest, it's the waking up part that is the VERY best! 😃
It's early Friday morning for me, always my first video to wake up with. 😊
@@PhilAndersonShadyAcresWoodshop Yeah some of us of an "advanced" age do the morning body check when we wake up just to make sure everything is working before you get out of bed. I like to know which parts aren't going to work right before I stand, just in case.
Phil,
Sometimes a simple beginning makes an extraordinary endgame. Thus you come closer to achieving perfection.
You sound good. I hope your health is improving with your vocal chords 😜.
Keep the aspidistra flying!
God bless,
Paul
I'm doing fine, thank you, Paul! 😃
Oh my, what a great idea. I love the little twigs. The candle will look awesome.
I think so too! 😃
Cute!!!! That cherry wood is beautiful where you showed it off. The bark just makes the piece!
Thank you, glad you like it! 😃
Cherry is so beautiful! Glad it isnt wasted.
Thanks for watching! 😃
Well Phil your little bit of Cherry branch turned into a Peach of a candle holder. 😁
Haha, thanks, Lewis! 😃

I think Sr you bring beauty out of anything and this a great gift you share with us. Thank you
So nice of you Reba, thank you! 😃
those little ikea tea lights would look good in there
😊
Thank you, so much, for doing this video! Today, I realised that I have a whole lot of narrower branches, that I need to use. As it happens, some are cherry. This would bs a good project for them. Thank you!
YES! And so much fun, Stephanie! 😃
You could drill a smaller hole inside the opening so it can be a candle holder or a dry bud vase. I really like this... nice and nature like. :)
Yeah, that would work, Ted. 😃
Such a pretty little piece to keep you warm Phil, a little beauty! 👍👏
Oh yes, nearly forgot to say: a little tea light would look sweet in it, real or the battery ones that change colour as they flicker would work too.🕯️
Tealight it is, Jude, thanks! 😃
Looks better than I thought it would. Nice work Phil
Thanks, Moe! 😃
I love the natural look. Beautiful beautiful piece ❤
Me too, thanks, Maddie! 😃
Thanks again, Wood Whisperer!
Awesome work!
Appreciate it, Kelly! 😃
Hi 👋 Phil from Phil, Great little project quick and easy To make for doing craft fairs, I have been busy over the last two weeks, Each week I have taken a tree down, The first one is very bad inside with extreme rot and I found a dead hornets nest inside it, My property runs alongside a public footpath in the forest and I am responsible for the upkeep of the side of the footpath these two trees were dangerous so they had to come down, they weren’t as bad as one I took down about two years ago It was about 20 to 25 inches in diameter quite tall but when it hit the ground it disintegrated I can’t believe how rotten it was needless to say it took me a long time to clear it up. That’s enough of me jabbering on I am spoken in the body for about 3 to 4 weeks, Look forward to your next tutorial on your creation and your piece of art.
stay safe, PHIL FROM THE DARK SIDE OF THE MOULIN.
Sounds like a big responsibility keeping the footpath safe, Phil. Around here, if a tree falls over it falls over, I usually just leave it right where it is unless it crosses my driveway. 😃
Hi 👋 Phil, about 3 years ago, I had a tree that was hanging over the electric cables, I managed to pull it upright, but electric company Sure what I was doing as they were working on property next door, they ended up taking it down for me, but dropped the last 15’ feet into the river, so I had to pull the rest of it out of the river with electric winch. Firewood 🪵 for next year, I have to harvest wood a year or so in advance for my Log fire .
As this is my only form of heating, I hope you are keeping safe and well, PHIL FROM THE DARK SIDE OF THE MOULIN
I’ve never seen a glue block used before, very interesting. Another good project you have done.
I think this is the second time in my life I've used a glue block, David. Thank you! 😃
Really like this. I wasn't sure about turning the bottom, but you're the man! Good call, turned out great.
Glad you liked it, Cheryl, thanks! 😊
I like cherry wood.
Me too! 😃
If we aren't having fun while turning then we are doing it wrong. Great to see Phil, thank you.
Thanks, John! 😃
Looks fantastic Phil, just love Cherry. Thanks for sharing, stay safe, Jules, Droitwich, England
Hard to beat Cherry, Jules. Thank you! 😃
My daughter lost a sour cherry tree due to disease and was upset. I cut off a branch and it has been lying around. Thanks for the idea of making something for to enjoy her tree in the house. 🍒
Perfect, I love this, thank you! 😃
That's a nice little piece Phil . Lets pray for warmer weather soon.
It's coming, Scot! Thank you! 😃
Another sweet piece Sir. I like the peace ☮️ sign on the bottom.
Oh, I gotta go take a look for it, Jay, thanks! 😃
@@PhilAndersonShadyAcresWoodshop you are welcome and thank you. God bless
Nice one Phil. When you came on I yelled, "say it's a vase Phil, please!". But no matter the candle holder looks good.
Hey Phil, in your next video how about a few pics of the outside of your shop with the snow. I bet it looks like a winter wonderland.
Thanks for your work Phil.
The snow comes and goes here, mostly, Kersi. We seldom get more than a couple inches (sometimes a foot though!) and it's usually gone in a day or two. Nothing but wind and rain right now! 😃
So cute Phil !!! It's a great idea also . Thanks for sharing the video . Now go warm up ! lol .
I'm all toasty right now, Jon! 😃
Another masterpiece!
Thank you, Dianne! 😃

Thanks for watching, Robert! 😃
Your vids arrive in the UK late at night so I can get up on a Friday morning to watch your turning over breakfast 😁
I wasn’t sure about this one, I’ve turned a lot of cherry and never feel the bark looks that good on vases, live edges etc.
But you absolutely nailed this one Phil it looks great.
Good morning, Mark and thanks! 😃
What do I think, WOW, WAY NICE.
Thank you, Tim! 😃 Cheers!
I like this…and agree that the little bit of turning on the bottom sets it off….
Yay! Thanks, Loraine! 😃
Another little beauty. You provide my inspiration….what that really means is I try to copy what you produce 😂
Works for me, Stephen, thank you! 😃
A beautifully simple piece. Thanks for sharing.

One half of one twig candle holder....Perfect Phil nothing to catch on to "nice and silky smooth"... Phil everything that comes from your shop is HOT no matter how cold it feels to you...... Until next time Phil I will be waiting..... TM
And then the lady down below said, "you know how to really please me" after the lemon squeezy! LOL! What a great group we have here, Tuffy! Thank you, my friend! 😃

Looks nice, fast and easy
Indeed! 😃
HI Phil beautifully finished. love it. weldone. nice and simple.
Thank you kindly, Manjit! 😃
I love the creativity of your turning. I think you missed a chance to make a cool vase. I love hollowing so I would have hollowed the piece from top and bottom for a vase. Your outside shape cries for it. Thanks for your videos, I think they're great.
Thank you, Donald! 😊 It's a candle holder because if I would have hollowed it out, I would have come thorough the side of the pitch pocket and, for me, that is the highlight of the piece.
Really cool candle holder. Very attractive.
Thank you, Judith, I'm glad you like it! 😃
Very cute Phil
😃
Very nice Phil brill candle holder love the sander flex and all your videos 👍
Thank you, Phillip! 😃
Beautiful little tea lite holder Phil.

Eyup Phil. And again you made a beautiful piece of functional art from a piece of (firewood). Well done sir another inspiring video for when I can get back to turning. Thanks Phil.
Glad you enjoyed it, Kev! 😃
I'll be at LAX on the 15th march for a 10 hour layover on the way to Australia. Shame you're not closer I would love to pop by and say
Eyup/Howdy.
@@kevbryant7199 Rent a car and drive on up, it's only about a 15 hour drive, Kev! 😃
@@PhilAndersonShadyAcresWoodshop haha if only my friend. If only.
You can make the simplest things look good
Thank you, Robert! 😃
Love this Phil, thanks for keeping on 😊
😃
I must say, Phil, I really didn’t think I was going to like this one. Once again, you have proven me wrong. That really is a very cute little candle holder. You are a true artist, my friend. Thanks for sharing!
…..Gord
These little pieces often surprise me too, Gord. Just a little scrap can offer a lot of natures beauty. Thank you, my friend! 😃

Just started turning and love watching your videos. Thanks for the inspiration!
Watching videos is how I learned to turn, John. Thank you and enjoy your new hobby! 😃
Looked like whiffs of smoke coming up while using the forstner bit. Nice little project. Candle holder for a little light and hear in the shop
Yeah, hard Cherry and end grain make for a little smoke, Jeff! 😃
Nice piece Phil! Very unique. Thx and take care.
Thank you, I will! You too! 😃
Congratulations on what you do !!!
Thank you, Gabi! 😃
Good evening from Edmonton, Kentucky!
This is an interesting piece. The indent with the drop of dry pitch adds a something extra to it. Thank you for showing us the process!
Best wishes!
Thank you, Anne in Kentucky! 😃
@@PhilAndersonShadyAcresWoodshop I enjoyed your video last night after I got home late from work.
Our school had a “Literacy Night” program from 4-6pm yesterday. It was to celebrate (belatedly) Dr. Seuss’s birthday. The teachers did different planned activities, and we Lunch Ladies prepared a small sack-lunch meal(hot dog/bun, chips, bottled water, and a cup of chocolate ice cream in a paper lunch bag).We had about 350 children and adults come to the dining room and pick up a sack. They all seemed to have a good time, and we were glad to go home.
@@amethystanne4586 Well, that sounds like a great turnout and a pleasant evening, Anne!
Very beautiful candle holder ❤
😃
Really nice, Phil. Even a tealight would look good on top.
Bill
Tealight it is, Bill! 😃
Beautiful little piece!!
Thanks, Madonna! 😃
Nicely done Phil! I agree…much shorter candle holder or a small battery operated fake candle
Thanks, Phil! 😃
I like it Phil... I love simple... I think I'd just put the candle in the wood without a cup .
Only if battery or you don’t burn the candle. Don’t need a house fire! 🤪
Yeah, tealight seems to be the consensus, Donscott! 😃
Very cute!
Thank you, Debra! 😃
Hi Phil very nice candle holder
Maria and David
Thank you, David! 😃
