- I find that live edge turnings are very popular and likely outsell plain bowls. Also, people just like them more so this would be a great gift. A couple hours for a newby, less than an hour for an experienced turner. This one is made from Laurel and is finished with only Acks Abrasive Paste and Polish.

Phil, i really enjoy your videos. I am an old guy of 73, getting back into wood turning. I like the fact that your stuff is all wood. No plastic/ epoxy. Just wood. I’m a Biker and I’ve been cutting wood with a scrollsaw for 23 years. My Biker group gave me the name Termite. I decided to get a wood Lathe. I bought a big Lathe a few years ago but I’ve never used it, I just bought a 10” x 18” wood Lathe at Christmas and I’m fixing to start turning wood. I enjoyed your video, I gave you a thumbs up and I subscribed. I’m gonna watch more of your videos and try to learn all I can. You done a Great Job keep the good work up.Awesome job
