I am also from Greensboro and picking a non astringent is the way for persimmon. I tried 2-3 varieties of non astringent and they all tasted good. I am planning to buy one this spring. Good luck with your's.
i just bought 3 Jiro persimmon trees & 2 Kieffer pear trees....the cut at the top is fine.....they don't want it too long...it will grow out just fine...
