As soon as it happened last night it was already being hailed as one of the many timeless quotes to come from the hockey world. Mostly because it's just such a distinctly Jagr thing to say, you know that 50 years from now when he finally decides to retire, that's still going to be the definitive quote people associate with him.

Congrats to one of the top offensive players of all time! I think he's right up there with Gretzky and Lemieux, though we'll never know what kind of points Jagr would have put up in the 80's or early 90's, hade he been in his prime then. Jagr played through the toughest and most defensive, and low-scoring era of the NHL in his prime (late 90's, early 2000). Hockey is always in development, so it's not possible to compare today's best with the best of Jagr's era anymore either. Just have to appreciate the best players of their eras.

its clear that all the wayne bashers need to bash him to bring him down to their other favourite players levels but it just doesnt work cause waynes stats make no sense non what so ever other guys you could say there were good but with wayne you just shake your head

looks like i have re-ignited that ageless debate again. I loved Lemieux too. but we will just never know what would have happened if his health had held up.I suppose their is just a little more certainty about Gretz. Wayne must be glad he did not play in the dead puck era though.... you are so right about about that.

No one will ever get near Gretzky. Even his goal total. Said jagr can because for some reason I always think Wayne had 802 goals but it ain't obviously think it's 894 or maybe more I forget but he can maybe get that mark of 800 at least before he is done. Maybe
