The session was very good. Got to know a lot about Mao and the Chinese communist party. The Chinese revolution of 1949 was a great event which confirmed more than anything else the inevitability of the socialist revolution and thus proving the theory of permanent revolution of Trotsky. The bourgeoisie will always play a reactionary role just as day follows night. I was left craving for more. The part about how exactly the bureaucratic structure of the communist party undermined China and led to capitalist restoration was missing though. But still very well explained and a very informative video for us Marxists. Thank you comrade....!
“America was not able to intervene” when the Soviets launched an attack against Japan in Manchuria. More like America would not help their WW2 ally, the Soviet Union. The Soviets and america were actually on the same side.
“The Chinese Cultural Revolution was one of the greatest events that ever happened in the history of the world.” Unless of course you happened to be one of the 40-80 million murdered.
40-80 million was the entirety of the Chinese revolution. The cultural revolution of 1949 is estimated to have killed between 500,00 to 2 million. When children were ideologically brainwashed and tortured and murdered people. I've seen photos of that time that makes Lord of the Flies look like a fairy tale. It's a very small comfort that the professors and pricks like this guy in the video are one of the first to go through "struggle sessions".
I mean do you know what "great" means? WWII was one of the greatest events to happen in world history doesn't mean it was a good thing. Just monumental pivotal etc. Plus your figures are off anyway
