    Song is “Hollywood Stampede”. A contrafact over the Sweet Georgia Brown changes. Clifford Brown has a recording of this called “Sweet Clifford”

    Thank you for posting this important document. Pettiford killing the riff. It quotes Ornithology and Dizzy composition Bebop. Brilliant post. A film like this worth more than thousands of words of history.

    Fun fact :I used to live in the building where Coleman Hawkins lived in NYC-
    just a couple of blocks from where D. Ellington used to live - until he passed.
    I believe he lived there from the late 1940-ies.

    yes this is sweet georgia brown...and Dizzy Gillespies influence is all over this.
