Version 2 is out now, and it's called the Daytona AC Dry GTX G2 boot. It doesn't have the old speed lacing system, instead it has a side zip, and you tuck the lace inside the top flap on the tongue. It makes it easier to get your foot in and out of the boot. Overall, it's a top quality boot, in fact, all Daytona boots are! I've got a pair of Daytona Roadstar GTX boots, as well, it's a cracking boot. They're a wide fit, and they have plenty of length, so the fit is quite generous. I would say, about half a size up on normal shoe sizes. I'm a size UK10.5, but always have to buy a size UK10 (EU45), with mixed results. I ordered the EU45, and the fit is spot on for me, as I say, they come out at about size UK10.5.

Very helpful, Chris. Very detailed and thorough appraisal of the boot. Will watch your other Daytona video before making up my mind. A few close up shots of the boot might be a help.

Received my pair recently. Personally speaking....they are stiff as a board early on. Been wearing them around for walking just to break them in. They fit wide, so hopefully in a month or 2 I will understand why everyone says Daytona boots are absolutely amazing. Cheers 🇺🇲

      How are the boots now?

@@danthechippie4439 I don't wear them any longer... they are just too heavy & cumbersome. The Alpinestars sp-2 boots is the money winner. 🏆

Hi Chris do this boots flow air for summer ( with any luck ) use . Thanks

It's not a heavy boot but they don't flow air particularly well. It is GTX lined. There are a a couple of GTX boots that are better for summer - the Daytona Strive or the TCX Clima as both have better ventilation. However for better air flow go for a boot with no membrane at all. ML

@@Motolegends Hi Chris 👋 I know it's an old video... but perhaps you'll still see my question. I'm trying to decide between AC Dry 2 and Journey GTX for the summer use. I don't want to give up on goretex membrane, so I've narrow down my search to these two options. Can you help with the decision making process? 😊 Thank you!

@@MickBla Functionally, no difference between them; just the aesthetics. There is now a summer Daytona without a membrane; it’s called the AC Pro. But you say you still want a membrane. So really it’s for you to decide. The Journey, though, is much easier to get in and out of. CP

@@Motolegends thank you Chris! Much appreciated 🙂 I'd say that the AC Dry 2 are much more pleasent to look at when combined with the Rokker chinos and Klim Marrakesh 😉 which I've bought from Motolegends. Both of these products are - by miles - exceeding my expectations (pants and jacket - we'll see about the boots)! 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻 Oh... and didn't know that there's a membrane free version - that's interesting 🤔
