Love how Storm is the most defensive and tactless about the idea of being cured despite having literal godlike powers and nothing weird about her appearance
I don't think Storm would think like that if she had Rogue's power or Nightcrawler's appearance. If anything, Storm should consider herself lucky she's one of the most normal-looking mutants out there.

@@luiseduardomurillomartinez It's not sad that he looks more true to comic form and is able to be more acrobatic due to being CGI. I get having nostalgia for this version / costume, but the CGI is likely the only reason we actually got Kelsey Grammer back. He is 69 years old. At that age having to sit in a makeup chair for 5+ hours is a big reason to say no to a role. With this we get comic accuracy on looks while also the best possible actor giving the performance. Just like The Thing some of these characters don't translate to live action.
I love the dynamic in this scene. Storm is oblivious to Rogue's perspective but you can see Wolverine, Beast & Charles understand how she feels and especially Beast & Wolverine would probably be inclined to take the cure under different circumstances. Erik, being both Jewish and a mutant in X-Men, shows the extreme side of what hatred in humanity can do... if anything, Stormy was subconsciously supporting him in the sense that - they were born like this, therefore nothing is wrong. Kelsey Grammar absolutely nailed Hank McCoy. Just mastered the dynamic of intellectual in the body of a beast.
This movie wasn't the best, but this scene hit the nail on the head for how schisms occur within a community. We make jokes that Storm doesn't think mutants need to be cured because she is effectively a goddess; but let's recall she works as a teacher. She is a good person and she wants every kid to feel like they belong, mutant or otherwise. There's nothing wrong with wanting that kind of equality. By contrast, Rogue wants to be able to live a normal life, something which her mutant power directly gets in the way of. Hank not only understands where Rogue is coming from, but feels it even more. People on the street wouldn't know Rogue is a mutant, but Hank is physically incapable of hiding it. He understands the value in being able to choose. Would Storm & Charles' vision of a world where mutants don't have to hide be wonderful? Yes. Would it come tomorrow or this year or this decade? Not remotely. Would taking the cure make Rogue turn on mutants? No. But she could experience aspects of life denied to her as she currently is.
Basically, both sides are right, even while contradicting each other. Life is complicated like that.
While I agree with your sentiments, I don't really like using Hank as that example. The main reason is because he's the reason he can't hide his mutation. Having someone like Kurt for that example would have been much more effective. Hank at this time was more of an example of someone trying to change who they really are so they could fit in, just to make it so they don't fit in at all anymore. So Storm's role here would have made much more sense coming from him than it comes from Storm. Have him say something like, "Rogue there isn't anything wrong with us, believe me it took me a long time to understand that. Actually what you see before you is the result of me trying to "cure" myself. And that's just the problem that they aren't looking at, they don't know or care able the long term effects of this "cure". Tell me, Rogue, would one year of being able to touch another human being really be worth it, if a year after taking it your power comes back stronger than it was before, to the point that you can't even get near another person without draining them? Believe me, I can understand the temptation that you're feeling."
@@jormungaurdquick question, was Hank's mutation going out of control from his own attempts at a cure part of the original character? I mean, it was in First Class & X-Men Evolution, but I wasn't sure if that was always part of the character?
Say what you will about X-Men 3, and there are a lot of negative things you could say about it, but Kelsey Grammar was masterfully, perfectly cast as Beast. From the very moment he opens his mouth, even to people who aren't fans of the comics, you know everything you need to know about who Hank McCoy is as a person.
Casting Frasier as Beast was genius. Third-best casting in the franchise, after Wolverine & Professor X. Actually, when it comes to resembling his comic counterpart, I might even argue that he takes the #2 slot after Patrick Stewart as Xavier.
Wolverine is too tall and Prof. X is not supposed to be British
@@RealCoolGuy True, but Stewart was the #1 fans' casting choice for Professor X years before this movie was made. Whoever casted Beast tho deserves a raise. 🙌
WELCOME BACK 🔥🔥
This is the most perfect beast casting possible
I love how wolverine’s not even pissed off just been called boy, just really really confused!
I love how Beast is telling Logan how long he's been working on a cure as if Logan is some young pup. He's the oldest person in the room! 🤣🤣🤣
These movies were so good.
Here before November 10th

The Conversation Between Wolverine And Beast Is Very Hilarious 😂😂
Great casting. Kelsey Grammer was a perfect beast
Welcome back, Hank!!!! The cameo in The Marvels was awesome.
How could this movie fail? The cast is fantastic, the lines are sarcastic and bright, I just love it!
Let's begin with the fact that storm is saying that mutants don't need cure
Compared to today's crapy comic book movies, this film is a masterpiece!
The humans all have a ''all mutants are horribly sick and twisted'' mentality that is borderline insane compared to reality. Characters are unreasonable about the plot in the entire movie. It gets unrealistic really fast, unless you are a child.
"My boy, I have been fighting for mutant rights since before you had claws."
-"Did he just call me boy?"
😂😂😂😂😂
Storm: "There's nothing wrong with any of us."
Rogue: "High Five?"
Storm: "There's nothing wrong with any of us."
Rogue: "Kiss me."
I miss you 3000 Beast and Storm.
You Know Why Are You Here Again.....IYKYK
Kelsey Grammar has been one of my all time favorite actors since I was a wee lil one. I absolutely loved watching Frazier.
Kelsey Grammer was absolutely perfect as Beast.
It’s so cool to think how Wolverine rewrote history so they would become friends much earlier than expected
Man, I miss Kelsey Grammer!
Kelsey Grammar was the best part in this movie.
I also just watched The Marvels…that post credits scene = BEST part of the movie.
The practical effects hold up so well for is costume
Rogue: "Say that again after you shake my hand"
