I cried so sincerely during this scene. It is so pure in a way, so raw in another. Who, as a beliver, never asked themself that question ? Who, as a believer, never doubt the sense of it all and never felt frustrated by the reality of this fact : faith does not protect from unfairness ? Just in case, I don't intend to offend anyone or any faith. I just think of the process of self questionning interesting, insightful and beneficial for the grownth of a heart, a soul and, furthermore, a faith. Very personnal opinion, (VPO 😉😂)
I’ve had a similar idea come to mind. It doesn’t matter if your a human, god, immortal or anything because you can’t win no matter what. Either your human and you live as quick as you die and your fate is judge by everything stronger than you. Or your a god and you just become numb to everything and you just get board and destroy everything you make. So what’s the point of existence if nobody can win!
You can see here that Lucifer, little by little, is starting to become more human. His reaction is not solely because he hates his father but it's coming from a different, deeper place.
It seems from some of these comments this scene is going over a lot of people's heads. It really is an important question that affects both believers and non believers. God tests faith through trial and suffering. We cant always understand it. Lucifer himself an immortal being who knows some of the secrets of the universe, cant seem to grasp the "bigger picture" because the whole point illustrates he is becoming more human, and is starting to see and experience life through our eyes. Why do good people suffer? Nobody knows, we are only told to trust in God even at our worst. That's what to me, makes this scene so brilliant and relatable.
KillaRican814 Lucifers saving grace was his status in the divine realm. A pastor from brazil did n said the same to God well not as angry as Lucifer did ... and was homeless within 24hrs & sleeping at the bus stop during winter.. no kiddingz this pastor is famous now.
I think it's a mixed package. You want happiness you have to take sadness along as well. Or else nothing. I have been thinking about this for sometime and this is what I found. You can't truly be happy if you never have been sad. Similarly you can't understand what sadness is unless you become happy. Just like how light doesn't seem like light unless we see darkness. And we can't understand what darkness is unless there is light.
I’m non-religious and this is one reason. I honestly agree with Lucifer all the way 100% I don’t like god or any god. Cuz if there truly is a god and that cares for that matter. Then non of this bad sh!t would happen. We wouldn’t lose people we love nor have a bad time. That’s one reason I don’t believe in god/hate god. I know there’s people out there that will get mad at this bu please understand that this is my opinion and i have finally been able to vent about it. Also I’m sorry if you took any of this to heart 😔
This reminds me of how I felt towards the Christian God after I lost my first child due to a miscarriage. And even afterwards for years I found no comfort in Christianity. Eventually I found comfort elsewhere, finally after years of asking why I have comfort. Thanks to spiritualists and wicca I found comfort.
Do you guys remember that scene where Chloe was restricting her child from doing certain things and Lucifer got involved and Chloe said to him I'm doing what's best for my child and Lucifer said that reminds me of my father? So here the point is that here in this world parents do whatever is good for their kids but kids hate it mostly and don't want to follow them and thinks they are not just to them? But parents apply certain restrictions that they know are bad for the child at that age and that child neither have the brain power nor the knowledge that their parents have to decide what is wrong or right for them. I hope intelligent and logical people could relate my example.

@@viridianfox6172 Don’t lose faith. Either of you. Ask yourselves: Did I take away something from that bad experience that I otherwise wouldn’t have? I have a story for you. I’m a 26 yr old Asperger kid, who was homeschooled his whole life, the definition of a social outcast. At 21, I decided to take $3000 in savings and a leap of faith, moving in with a friend of mine and starting my own business of buying and selling trading cards. Fast forward a few years, I have money in the bank, a nice car, friends, a business and a reputation, everything I could ask for. I even picked up professional poker to try and elevate myself even further. But then, all of a sudden, my luck halted. I literally couldn’t win a hand, sell a card, catch a break or figure out why my life was spiraling downward. I ended up being in huge debt, losing my car, my assets, my friends and my livelihood. But there was a lesson I learned from all of that. One I wouldn’t have gotten, had things not gone that exact way. I was an actual piece of work before all of that turmoil, and treated people with such a level of disrespect and indifference, it was disgusting. I thought I had “made it”, because I had acquired all the material means to continue “making it”. That whole experience made me change as a person. I had to self-reflect, I had to come to terms with my demons, why I hated the way I was etc. I’m now in a place and space where happiness supersedes any dollar amount. Now you two might not think that was God, shattering my ego in the least harmful way possible. But I do. There’s no way in hell you could coincidentally script the coordinated events in my lifetime, if you altered even a single one slightly, I wouldn’t be standing here today.

@@qais- because I followed their rules. I did everything to try to please them. And they still were emotionally and verbally abusive. They still tortured me.
Damn I wish I could have someone like that person
This is probably my favorite scene from the whole series
yes i kinda talk like this love this scene
I cried so sincerely during this scene. It is so pure in a way, so raw in another.
Who, as a beliver, never asked themself that question ? Who, as a believer, never doubt the sense of it all and never felt frustrated by the reality of this fact : faith does not protect from unfairness ?
Just in case, I don't intend to offend anyone or any faith. I just think of the process of self questionning interesting, insightful and beneficial for the grownth of a heart, a soul and, furthermore, a faith.
Very personnal opinion, (VPO 😉😂)
0:49 that delivery of those lines. Quotable too
Best scene of the entire show!
It's not about winning or losing; it's about how we react to certain circumstances throughout our life.
Kobayashi Maru
The fact that’s I can recite this scene word for word kinda scares me but it also makes me so happy😂
this is exactly the way I feel
We've all had this conversation at some point.
You can see here that Lucifer, little by little, is starting to become more human. His reaction is not solely because he hates his father but it's coming from a different, deeper place.
me & my religious trauma just constantly vibing w/ this scene & show in general
Which episode ?
Congratulations, you cracked the show.
Edward Martinez
Well said
Edward Martinez remember he is Satan acting and playing the victim is one of his ways
Winning Has No Meaning To Anything And Anyone, No Matter How Evil Or Good You Are.
A Priest Walks into a Bar is Tom Ellis' favorite episode. This scene might be the reason why.
I’m non-religious and this is one reason.
I honestly agree with Lucifer all the way 100%
I don’t like god or any god.
Perfectly sums up how I feel about life
I have felt like this so many times....
This is maybe my favorite Lucifer scene
This is such a good scene.
Wath is nam this scene
I can relate to this,totally
I judge God by the bible and Quran.
@@astralangel7772 Congrats, nobody fuckin' cares
I love Lucifer so much
Yes
this is what im missing about lucifer
I don't want to agree with the devil but he kinda has a point
Grand dark angel actually lucifer is known as "the first philosopher" ;)
The truth of devil is somting , and whats showig in this show is somthing else
I understand exactly how he feels.
This keeps replaying in my head
I really want to say such lines to God again
I can just imagine Ranboo saying this to tubbo after exiling tommy. Or ranboo/Wilbur/techno saying it to dream after he blew up logchester
yes yes yes oh my god this would’ve been perfect
OH MY FUCKING GOD WHY DID YOU HAVE TO SAY THAT NOW I CAN'T GET IT OUT MY HEAD
You can hear the angry and pain. In his voice
That poor person who got hit with that lighter 🤣
This speech and the al Pacino one, Epic
Why is he so upset. I mean he is divine, he knows there is a heaven and that he reunited with his daughter in the afterlife.
EasilyBeatable Heaven is worse than Hell puts false memories in your head so you could just forget all the bad stuff but it doesn’t change the fact that they still happened
EasilyBeatable in Lucifer’s own words: “It’s incredibly boring where you’re headed”.
The way that the heaven and hell work there is different bc if you think you deserve punishment you get sent to hell so for all we know the heaven could be just full of egotystical a holes
@@gravitator33 I always sya that too lol. When i see anyone who is committed to a religion boasts how he'll go to heaven and the other religion believers will rot in hell
Whats the point? Thats the million dollar question. Ya damned if ya do and ya damned if ya don't.
You can't win with this guy dude. Nobody can.
In an effort to avoid feeling the appropriate emotions this scene causes, im instead going to imagine the random person who probably wonders why they got hit in the head with a flying lighter
Oh! The real Prince talking (¿or arguing?) to the impostor... That's cute :3
Does anyone know where to watch this show in germany? I tried searching it on netflix but it doesn’t really show, is there any other place to watch it?
can someone tell me what happened in this epsiode or which episode it is. I don't watch the show but this part looks really interesting, espcially since the clips I see of this character are usually with and "I don't care attitude"
Season 1, A Priest Walks into a Bar, lucifer befriends a priest who got shot and dies in his arms
It's been 2 years, I don't know if you've already watched the show, but if you didn't you definetely should, it's sooo good
I don't understand why good people lose in this world while bad ones are always victorious. I want justice in the earthly world not delayed to outer world.
What religious category do I fall into? I agree with Lucifer 100%. God took everything I’ve cared about as well. I followed God’s stupid rules and it wasn’t good enough, he took my friends, the only girl I’ve loved was ripped away from me and I couldn’t do a thing about it, and here I am still suffering. Haven’t prayed to that manipulative, selfish bastard in over a year but I still believe in his existence. I just refuse to follow him, it got me nowhere.
2 years late but I think you were looking for the term agnostic theism? Or something similar to Deism, perhaps?
This version of Lucifer is best Lucifer of all shows
It Doesn't matter if your a sinner
It doesn't metter if your a saint
Noboday Can Win
So what the point..... what's the bloody point..
The point is to be a small light in the dark. Ironically, he can't get his lighter to work and in anger cast it away when in reality it was not the lighter's fault but his own.
If the choice is a sin, I choice choice.
I'm a christian and a realist he does have a point. It's hard to be a christian especially in todays world.
I can't remember what episode this was but I love this scene.
Season 1 ep 9
One of the best Scenes
Tom Ellis is Amazing as Lucifer
