My uncle had a chance to drive this turbine for a couple months. But he drove it to Los Angeles from Seattle Wa. I was very young but I love this car. We rode in it and we got some gas for it. But not from the pumps. It was kerosene that you had to use anything that was flammable including booze. I tried to smell the exhaust , no smell or oder at all. Just warm or hot air exhaust. He sent me a model of the car he drove. I still have it today.
For me the Worlds Fair was famous for three cars, the Mustang, the Chrysler turbine car and the Amphicar. I got to ride in the Amphicar, it was really cool.
I bought a copy of that book because Jay mentioned it and I have an old Jo-Han 1/25 Turbine kit. I've never seen a Chrysler Turbine, and I wanted some info on to to build it properly.

I know its been said about every person who's sat in that chair,, but I love this guys stories.. I'll click every damn time its him... I actually kept scrolling when it was a pic of jay Leno.. but it switched to this guy so I scrolled right back up to hit the play asap- and I've watched a lot of leno's channel..this guy never misses.
*I've watched the vid Lenno did about the turbine car, and the turbine bike. Does that mean this guy has more charisma than leno? 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️
No insult intended... but this story has got to be my favorite, it really struck a cord with me. I mean, I'm listening to this guy and I catch myself talking to myself saying.. man, I'm really happy for him... meeting Leno, driving any of his cars much less the turbine... Leno does the intro for his book. I'm laughing to myself because I'm so happy for this guy. Great story, thank you.
Don’t forget to mention the GM EV1! Was only available for lease. Had to return all EV1s so that they could be crushed!
Nobody thinks you could get Jay Leno on your show. Now I wanna see it.
Been waiting for more lehto
Steve, Jay and vinwiki in one video! I watch all 3 on RUclips! Cool collaboration!
Need to get jay to come do some stories
Likely not to happen.
Maybe not likely but it would be cool if he did! Ed would have stories for days and then some. 👍
Indeed it would be cool if it happened.
That was a cool story. I've read (and still have a copy of) Steve's Lemon Law book.
Isn't it amazing how beautiful so many cars were "back then"?
I met jay with the turbine motorcycle at the rock store in Malibu hills back about 20 years ago or so when i was 20ish. He was so cool. I’ve ran into him briefly a few times there and here in Santa Barbara. That must have been a great experience.
A beautiful story beautifully told thank you
Love the stories Steve! Great content also. And thanks to vin wiki for sharing this story.
Jay seems like one of the most genuine ppl
For me the Worlds Fair was famous for three cars, the Mustang, the Chrysler turbine car and the Amphicar. I got to ride in the Amphicar, it was really cool.
Jay is truly an awesome person. Wish there was more like him out there
Any car under Leno's care is basically in a museum. But a much more fun, hands on kind of style.
Reminds me of when I got to pilot a Goodyear blimp a once in a lifetime opportunity
You can tell Jay Leno is just a genuine entertainer. He should just have a film crew with him all day on the Leno Channel
Saw one of the Chrysler turbine cars at a transportation museum in Kirkwood, Missouri back in 1997. Would love to take one for a spin...
I bought a copy of that book because Jay mentioned it and I have an old Jo-Han 1/25 Turbine kit. I've never seen a Chrysler Turbine, and I wanted some info on to to build it properly.
